Such a wonderful experience at Casa Rofo! Omar had great communication with us right from the time we booked our reservation. When my husband & I arrived, Omar met us at the door & went over all the logistics of the room and staying there. He speaks English well. He took us up to the rooftop terrace which is AMAZING. The view is **INCREDIBLE**!! He was happy to help us come up with plans to enjoy the city, like suggest where to walk & eat. He was always very helpful and quick to respond to all our questions that came up over the few days of our stay. So many beautiful sights to see & restaurants for eating within a 5 - 15 minute walk. Omar and his wife prepared a lovely hot breakfast both mornings we were there. French toast one day & eggs the second day. Both days with fresh fruit. Breakfast was served on the breathtaking rooftop terrace. Our room was clean & well maintained. Great place for a home base while vacationing in Guanajuato City.

We overall loved our stay at Casa Rofo. To get that incredible view, the building is at the top of a very steep hill (Guanajuato City, in general, is very hilly). It was quite a walk back up that steep hill when returning from town. BUT, we always had the option to Uber back from town. We just chose not to. The spiral staircase inside the building to get to the roof & to our room was pretty steep and tight to maneuver. But was totally manageable for us & soooo worth it for the fantastic views. Our room did not have a lot of "extra" space. Very basic: bed (large bed, actually!), bathroom w/ shower, small cabinet to hang/store clothes, TV, small table w/ 2 chairs, mini fridge. But my husband & I actually thought it was perfect for us.

Breakfast was excellent. Omar, the host was excellent. Location of Casa Rofo and view from mirador superb. Room was pretty clean. Our king bed was comfortable.

Parking is difficult. We had a room with a kitchen, which we wanted, but there was nothing available in the kitchen! No pans, no silverware, no glasses. The kitchen should not even be mentioned if it is not going to be made available to the guest?

Omar and Jackie were the perfect hosts-friendly, helpful, and accommodating as well as great cooks. The room with a kitchen was perfect for our one-week stay, and the little separate bedroom was perfect for our daughter. We loved the rooftop for breakfast ( delicious and varied) and for watching the sunset with guacamole and artisanal beer from the huge nearby beer store.

Guanajuato is for walkers- there are stairs and slopes everywhere. We are avid walkers who loved the challenge of the hills.

The location is good. The price to have a good view is go uphill every day in around 8 mins. But I guarantee you it really worthy. The breakfast of this hotel is 6 star! We stay 4 nights, 4 days breakfast never repeat! The service is professional with smile.

Probably the water is little problem as it take a few mins to warm up, but to be honest, it won't bother us and compare with all other good points, we don't mind. The room is not luxury, not still cozy.

Awesome view of city from above Very attentive, thoughtful, and accommodating host. There are less than 5 rooms in the facility, so you get Omar’s full attention. Quiet at night 5 min walk from the city Host can speak intermediate level English

No AC, night can be a little hot in the summer. It’s on a high hill, which comes with fantastic view of the city, but that means walking up a looong incline from the city. It’s a good workout.

Omar is the kindest host in a B&B I've ever met. He was super accommodating when we extended our stay. When we felt under the weather, he got a friend to bring over a digital thermometer. (No fever, thank goodness.) Every morning started with a different breakfast on the roof top: with no repeats. The view from the room and the rooftop is spectacular. If you're visiting Guanajuato City, do yourself a favour and stay here.

Not going to lie, the amazing view comes with the price of having to walk up a very steep hill! If you're tuckered out after a long day in the vibrant historic centre, you can easily cheat by taking a taxi or Uber back to the hotel.

where do I start.. the property is beautifully located at an altitude from where the whole city can be seen. spectacular views! 10 minutes walk to all main attractions main city. nice clean rooms. the host Omar is amazing! he went out of the way so many times to make me feel comfortable. including amazing wholesome breakfasts, giving me an umbrella on a rainy day, dropping me to the airport when we couldn’t find a taxi! when you travel solo, this means a lot!!! would definitely recommend and come back. thanks a ton Omar

just that the walk back uphill is exhausting. the walk to city is 10 minutes but since it’s at a height(spectacular views), it’s not for someone who cannot do much of uphill walk. so I couldn’t do multiple trips down hill in one day.

Small house in Guanajuato. Omar is an amazing host, cooking a special breakfast just for you. He is super attentive and will make you feel at home. The room has a fridge and he offers some water as well. This is the authentic Guanajuatean experience.

There is no water pressure so very little water comes out of faucets and showers, but this is a problem of all Guanajuato due to water availability.

The most impressive detail is for sure breakfast rooftop terrace. The best city view 100%. Spent about 2 h there drinking morning coffee :) That's the case when alive is even better than on pics. Hot, and nicely served breakfast. Wifi is good. Very kind and welcoming host Omar who can give you tips about places around to visit. Super comfy bed and warm room. Just a bit cold in the bathroom, but it's everywhere in this region in Mexico. Highly recommended, would definitely stay here again.

All was perfect

We had a very cosy and enjoyed stay at Casa Rofo. The staff was very helpful!! He helped guiding us park at the very near parking lot, which is only 2 minutes from the hostel. He also gave us good tourist information and helped to carry the suitcase upstairs. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We recommend the terrace breakfast so much, as the view is excellent and bravo!

The hostel is located at the high-graded place, it’s easy to go down, but if you climb back, it will be a bit tired. However, it’s also the advantage that you can own the view of the whole town.
