Grand Park Royal Puerto Vallarta - All Inclusive

This is a beautiful hotel located about 8 km south of town in a beautiful area near Los Arcos and Mismaloya. The property has its own private beach which is a good size. Not quite the size of Hyatt Ziva, but for the price, this cannot be beat. I also liked the raised sun deck off of the pool which overlooks directly to the beach. A very nice touch. All the rooms have a balcony and they all face the water. If you are a beach lover, then this hotel is for you. The staff and the service at the hotel is top notch as well. It is very clean and everyone makes you feel welcome. I also loved the complimentary Covid test. Very nice service provided to guests.

The food is very disappointing. I found myself hopping on a bus and heading into town one night because I just didn't want to face the substandard food at the buffet and even at the restaurants. The Italian restaurant is barely okay, but factor in that if you don't snag it quick enough, you will have to wait 60-90 minutes to get a table it makes the experience less than satisfying. The Mexican place is okay. The third restaurant, the Pescador only has one fish entree on its dinner menu. A curious name for a restaurant. The Veranda buffet is well below average. Even breakfast is a disappointment. I've found the food at Park Royal properties to be consistently below average.

What a great place. Not very often do my expectations be exceeded. This one lived up to them and more. Staff were very friendly, the food was really good and the room was HUGE, clean and had amazing views.

Quite away from the airport but it was not bad that you could get a cab for 300 pesos

loved everything about the property especially the restaurants, the Italian restaurant called Andiamo has the best Italian food I’ve ever had and our server Rodrigo did a top notch job of taking care of us and my child. He was very attentive, had a great attitude and made the whole experience worthwhile, would recommend going to andiamo if you stay in this resort, the wait staff is amazingly friendly and helpful at all times.

I didn’t like the fact that they try to charge you more then once for your stay, when we got to the resort, we paid everything in full but when we were trying to check out, the front staff was telling us they had to charge us again since they had a problem with the terminal, now mind you, we had proof of payment and even though we are trying to show them that it’s all been paid, they still charged my card again three days after we left and now we are stuck fighting back and forth so I would recommend clearing all that and checking your payment card when you get home to ensure you’re not being charged extra for no reason.

In short, this is not a place for honeymooners or young people. A place for a family of four like me or an older traveler who wants to rest cozy and comfortable. Everyone passed the holiday in peace and quiet, and our family was happy and enjoying beautiful view. Plenty of pools, restaurants and bars, and there isn't much of a wait to use the service. The staff are generous and do not force a tip. If you've paid the all-inclusive rate, don't worry about everything at the hotel.

Room service was late, and there was not enough towels and shampoo in the room. Far from airport and city center.

location was not the best, it was not far from downtown, not able to go into the ocean and swim on the private beach, current was way to strong and way too deep.

Bellhop was pushy about tip amount comparing US dollars to Pesos. Pesos amount wasn’t enough and that we could give him more later.

Great food for an all inclusive. Most of the staff were awesome. Kids club staff, particularly Betsa, were awesome. Beach was great. Not too hard to access shade by the pool or beach. Pretty good entertainment. Whole entertainment staff team was great. Other standout staff – Miguel, María and Brizeida (hosts), Alfredo, Juan, Nancy, Daniel and Barrucho (servers), Cony y Enrique (Cap...) Manuel and Moises (drink servers). Reception and customer service also great. Nice to have one room service included. Beautiful well-maintained rooms.

Careful of booking.com claim of “includes taxes and fees”. 19% taxes very sneakily added on and written in small print of email after you confirm! Would like more live Latin Music/opportunities to dance besides Zumba. Ice cream place was not consistent. Some staff were not particularly warm (maybe fair enough?). It is far from town. Bank machine was broken for extended period. Snack bar was a bit inconsistent (and is only option between 11:30 and 1). “Sportsbar” only has Mexican channels and YouTube.

This hotel is great to relax, the beach is semi private, not a lot of buildings nearby, sand is beige not dark like other parts of Puerto Vallarta. Servers were on point bringing us drinks, the lobby is really welcoming and you can see the pool and beach from there. Coffee bar was good. The bathroom at the rooms is luxurious, it has a closet and double sink, really nice design. The Italian and Mexican restaurant are great!

The seafood restaurant needs improvement, we went for breakfast the first day, the mole was really watery and flavorless, the chilaquiles were not that great either. Then we gave it a try for lunch, the octopus ceviche was not well made, the octopus was really chewy. Desserts at the buffet were not good, they looked different but tasted the same, would like to see more effort on the desserts. The sun will not hit the pool and beach until the afternoon due to the hotel's position. I wouldn't recommend bringing kids under 10, they do have a kids section but guests opted to bring their kids to the common areas, kids were screaming and due to the way the hotel is built, the noise would echo through the hallways.

Breakfast was excellent. Coffee was the best in the resort. All staff extremely friendly, very attentive and polite. I was a solo traveller so it was nice to be greeted with a smile. The food in the Italian restaurant was very good.

The fish in the Pescado restaurant was always a little overcooked. Like many all inclusive resorts it was very difficult to find a sunbed. There was no information on the website to say the sea was mostly unsafe to swim in most of the time, the waves were spectacular but not suitable for most average swimmers.

We love that it was close to the beach. The beach is clean, less people when we we’re there so we enjoyed it so much. The staff are all so nice. They see you without a drink and they’ll get whatever you want. I find the staff works hard there at least the workers that we encountered especially in the veranda. We arrive really late around 1am and they told ask that room service is available and they’ll whip us something from the kitchen. We didn’t order anything, we just wanted to rest but we appreciate the offer. We like the food, lots of options.

The beach was very wavy during our stay but that’s how nature works. Can’t bring your mood down when the sun’s out and you hear the waves, very therapeutic. We were still able to dip in the water. There was a big cockroach in our balcony but the housekeeping were able to clean it out. Nothing inside the room, it was very clean. We have two rooms, one in the 4th floor and the other one in the 10th. We just noticed that the 10th floor is a bit warmer than the 4th but they have the ceiling fan to make the room cooler. So just use the ceiling to make the temperature more comfortable.
