Hotel 52 Playa del Carmen

The room was wonderful. It's spacious and with a very comfortable bed. It's very simple but practical, which is great. Also, to us, it was a good location as it's right on the 5a avenida but still removed from all the noise and razzle-dazzle of the shops and bars.

When staying in Playa, many people take the tours offered to go to Tulum or Yucatán area. For these tours you have to leave the Hotel at 7. Breakfast at the hotel starts at 7 and the kitchen staff is not very accommodating in this aspect. To me, they should try to offer at least a to-go sandwich or some sort of to-go breakfast option between 6.30 and 7am (similar to what you see in the states) to accommodate their guests better. We paid for Breakfast at the hotel and unfortunately had to skip 1 day; otherwise we would've missed the pickup for our tour.

Excellent. Unbelievable value. We were given a suite with three separate rooms and three separate bathrooms. We were travelling with my son and daughter-in-law so the extra bedroom was awesome. The pool on the rooftop was fabulous. Beautiful views you could see the beach and the island Cozumel. The roof top has a bar and you can get delicious food and drinks at the poolside. The staff were great - put us directly in touch with a trip advisor preferred company for tours. The driver from the company drive us around fir an entire day and we were able to swim at three different cenotes. We also dropped a huge bag of washing at the front desk and collected the next day. This was only a few dollars. We rented bikes from the front desk at the hotel and rode around. There is a fantastic restaurant Que Huevos just around corner where we had the best breakfast we have had. We went back there every morning. The location is fantastic - close to everything but in a quiet street. There is a lovely path that you can run along that is near the hotel. The path goes along behind the beach. You can access some of the free beaches and do some free snorkeling.

It’s the second time when I chose this hotel in Playa and I have recommended it to all my friends due to its perfect location right on the 5th Avenue, walking distance from all the bars, restaurants, ferry and bus station. Beside that I really love the hotel’s design with plenty of plants and trees right in the center of the lobby. The staff was really kind and they even help us have our clothes cleaned for a great price. They also offered us vouchers for free breakfast and discounted food at the restaurant next door and the food was really tasty. I will choose the same hotel whenever I will find myself in Playa

The hotel provides full value for the price: clean, spacious room, pleasant and helpful staff, and the pool on the roof greatly improves the experience.

The hotel is in a slightly distant street, and it is also next to an abandoned building. Therefore the environment may be particularly unpleasant for some guests. In addition, we did not like at all that the corridors and rooms are made of concrete. It gives the impression that the hotel is still under construction

The whole crew and ambience in the hotel are amazing. Nice rooms and pool. In special, I want to formally compliment Janine from the frontdesk / recepción, who was so helpful, friendly and proactive since my very first day! She was always willing to help and find solutions quickly with a smile on her face. Very communicative and effective, both on English and Spanish. Qualified professionals are hard to find, we can clearly see it by so many bad experiences at hotels and Airbnb’s, but Janine cooperated to make my trip in Playa so remarkable by putting her heart into the job. I work managing people every single day and could not ignore how much potential she have. congratulations hotel 52 for the amazing people on your team!

The room was supe nice, very comfortable. We rented 1 room for 6 persons (4 adults+2 kids) and we had two entire rooms with balcony and a great living room area. Breakfast included was great and the fact we were super close to Avenida 5 de Mayo but away from all the noise was perfect. You can go and have fun and come back to the hotel and have a great and quiet night. The pool is great and the spot to take pictures and relax is super nice. The beach is really close so you can have the best of both worlds.

Since I rented a car, I was looking forward to leave the car in a parking lot. We arrived pretty late and couldn't have a spot but we left the car in front of the hotel and I can assure you there is always someone taking care of the cars park outside, so no need to worry if you didn't get a spot in the parkint lot.

The bed was so very comfortable. The air conditioner was so quiet and did not have a bright light shining when on at night. The fan was very quiet. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The whole place was very clean. The pool was very inviting with a lovely rooftop deck. The food was very yummy, good value.

It would have been nice to have a bit more shaded areas close to the pool.

Most aspects of the hotel were fantastic, from its architecture and interior design to its breakfast and laundry services. The location, while not super close to the centre, is also great: right inside a cute neighbourhood (outside of the hyper tourism strip) and very close to a beautiful public beach.

The bathroom design, especially the shower, didn't seem up to the same standard as the rest of the hotel. Also, the Wi-Fi coverage was poor in our room and on the rooftop. (Once connected, the internet was also faulty, but we were told it was because of all the recent rain, which we believed.)

Very nice hotel near the center. Location a short walk from the main street and the beach. Rooftop pool is great, we used it because of the seaweed in the sea.

The accommodation was clean but the shower was getting a bit dingy. Unfortunately, the bar doesn't open until later in the evening and was closed early, so we didn't have time to use it. It is possible to sit on the roof anyway, even when the bar is closed.

We really liked the location. The staff was also very helpful and kind, we could leave our baggage at the hotel after we checked out so we could spend our time at the beach. The wifi was also good in our room.

We had some issues with the cleaning. Sometimes it felt the cleaning service did a half job, although they cleaned our room every day and bed was always tidy. This hotel felt like a party hotel, sometimes some guests were very loud. (it is not the hotel's fault of course)
