Hotel Los Itzaes by 5th av

Awesome and inviting atmosphere - I was mesmerized by all the live plants hanging off the balconies, it was this curtain of lush vines. This place is such good value. The room and bathroom were super clean and nice - they looked like something you'd have to pay a lot more money for. The workers were really nice and friendly too. Also, great location on 10th Ave. by a ton of restaurants, cafés, and shops. This turned out to be my favorite street because it had a ton to see and do without the crowds, vendors, and craziness of 5th Ave. I would definitely recommend Los Itzaes to anyone visiting Playa del Carmen.

They didn't have breakfast, but there is a café around the corner they told us about called Epazzote. This place was only $5 per person for a full breakfast. So it's not even a con really.

The location of the hotel was amazing. Walking distance to everything! Oxxo in front of you, beach 1 block away, food available left and right. Close to the ADO. The room was spacious, but not as spacious as the pictures were showing. But the room had 2 big beds. Bathroom was fine, there was hot water and great water pressure. Wifi working well. Staff was friendly! There is a rooftop pool to just chill.

The vibe at the rooftop pool wasn't really nice. They can decorate a little to make it more attractive like the hotels around. However, that is not really an issue - a pool is a pool :) But one thing was very disturbing for us: the noise in the room!!!! My friends and us booked 2 rooms, they were lovely but we barely slept..it was sooooooooo loud!! So we both moved our rooms the next day to the more quiet rooms, but these did not have a proper a/c (just an airvent). So it was hot and never cooled off during our week's stay, not pleasant. Obviously not all rooms are the same. If you are a sensitive sleeper, it might cause issues.

This is the second time I have stayed here and the Los Itzaes Hotel will always be my go-to. Not only did the staff place me in the same room as requested, but they were so helpful with my check-in from start to finish. It was lovely that the staff remembered me too. What I love about this hotel is that is it PERFECTLY located, clean, quiet, you get hot water, WiFi is fine, there is Netflix and it's affordable. It's an ideal place to base yourself if you want easy access to the ADO bus station, beach, 5th avenue, Cozumel ferry, the Xcaret group excursion pick up point (Old Navy) or if you need to transfer to Tulum. The rooms are well stocked with shampoo and conditioner, a hair dryer, iron and ironing board and a mini fridge. Whilst there isn't water in the room, you can get some filtered water near the reception desk. There is also a roof top terrace with a pool that is wonderfully peaceful and a GREAT spot to catch the sunset around 6.30pm. Thank you so much to the team for accommodating my mum and I. We'll be back, of course!

This place is SO CLEAN! !! WiFi works very well and the shower runs hot water. The staff are professional and location is just perfect. It's quiet enough for Playa Del Carmen and the room has everything you need (towels, mini fridge, shampoo and conditioner, iron, blow dryer, extra blankets, air conditioning and a softer pillow in the closet). Also glad to share there were NO INSECTS!

The room key is old school, but that's perfectly fine.

Loved my stay here! King room was nice, clean, and bright with a very cold mini fridge to store drinks. Perfect location, one block north of 5th Ave and close to restaurants. Felt very safe. I would recommend earplugs if you are a very light sleeper on some nights. The hotel also has a skylight in the centre so when it rained sounded really lovely, like you were in a rainforest. There is a nice homestyle restaurant with great breakfast and lunch just beside the hotel behind the tour sellers.

I wish there was a nice duvet and a room safe. Just beware that there is no elevator.

Everything was great. Vicky, at the front desk is specially nice and helpful. She is a great receptionist and her recommendations for food, activities, etc. were absolutely excellent!! The rooms were clean, good size and they have a mini fridge (which was not in the description of the room). The water pressure is very good (something a bit rare for the peninsula). The lobby and the pool area are very welcoming. The hotel doesn't have breakfast onsite, BUT they can get you a discount for a breakfast buffet that is very close by and it is REALLY good food. Bonus: The hotel is next door to a market so you can get super inexpensive, yet good, food (around 5 dollars for two people). Also, the parking lot on top of the market is very affordable and has rates by the hour, day and week. Also, the hotel is very close to a laundromat, so you can have all your clothes washed before you leave the trip. Quite convenient if this is the last stop in a longer stay.

Well, the location is great for young people; it is in the middle of tons of restaurants, etc. And that is actually great; the only inconvenient is that because the bars etc. are so close by, it can get a bit noisy at night, especially in the weekends.

This is a very comfortable place to stay. The rooms are spacious and the staff is absolutely wonderful. Vicky, one of the receptionists, is exceptional and always has great recommendations about restaurants, laundromats, events, etc. She knows which cab/shuttle companies are reliable and will get you a reservation at a very good price. The hotel feels safe and friendly.

Because of the location, you do have to keep in mind that there might be loud people walking in front of the hotel. So, just make sure to turn on the air-conditioning in the room at night to drown the sound outside.

A good sized room with king bed and a desk. The wifi was good. The pool on the roof is nice, but a little chilly (refreshing). Good location close to everything. Walking distance to ADO terminal, beach, fifth Avenue and more.

You can hear music and people late into the night as it is close to fifth Avenue and many bars. As long as you don't want to sleep to early it is not too bad.

I do hours upon hours of research before I pick a property to visit This hotel checks all the marks very well.Large room even by USA standards . 12x 24 . The shower is floor ceiling marble 3x 6 .Has a small balcony, room safe, strong ac, freezing cold mini fridge,comfortable bed,and hot water that stays on at constant temperature. The area is safe police around all the time.Across the street is parking.Also across the street fresh fruit smoothies. About $2 . 40 pesos for a liter container of fresh fruit cut before you eyes..smoothies are a few cents more. Oh, almost forgot. Room is as quiet as can be. No noise from adjacent rooms whatsoever. Even with children!! Walls are solid thick concrete.. Barely road noise or music can be heard from outside through balcony doors. Lastly super stong wi fi

No fault of theirs ,and something I knew is the seaweed in the ocean.

Great location and the staff really kind. The pool in the rooftop is a plus and we used it a lot. The staff was kind and helped us with everything we needed. The hotel has some agreement with places near for breakfast that was good and convenient

Unfortunately there is some clubs across the street and apparently there are a lot of young people meeting around the hotel later that can be quite load. If you are noise sensitive or have trouble to sleep I would not recommend staying there, it's nothing dramatic but can be annoying (and I was there from Monday to Thursday, I can't imagine how are the weekends)
