Hotel de ABDIJ Dokkum

very clean, comfortable and with accommodating staff. No problem with special food requests. Great care taken on the details and finishes in the room- fresh fruit, water available and some toys for the kids. They can also play in the little courtyard. Bar and restaurant are also really nice. Recommended 👍

in the pictures there is a big table in the room (family suite) which would be handy if traveling with kids to play games etc. but this is not in all the rooms.

I travel quite a bit for work and to say I was pleasantly surprised by Hotel de ABDIJ is an understatement. From a friendly reception on arrival to the contemporary and comfortable room, this hotel exceeded my expectation considering the price of a 1 night stay. It's located in the centre of the town, which itself is easy to get around and very charming.

Unfortunately, as it was a Tuesday evening, the town was quite quiet, but that's hardly anyone's fault. Would definitely like to return for a weekend stay in the future.

Because of travel uncertainties we booked & arrived late but we were beautifully looked after by everyone. lovely friendly receptionist, great barman and chef prepared a fabulous cold plate after kitchen closed. Our room and the rest of the hotel is a beautiful mix of old, new & comfort. we will definitely return but with more time to enjoy next time. An evening stroll around Dokkum whetted our appetite for a return visit.

Friendliness of staff and beautiful comfort.

Hotel de Abdij is a real gem right in the middle of the beautiful town of Dokkum. Located in a centuries old orphanage but updated to the highest standards of nowadays world. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The room, Junior suite, was beautiful and very spacious. Unfortunately the heating in the bathroom didn't work, straight away we were offered another room. Next day with check out we received a nice gift for the inconvenience.I would definitely recommend the hotel. We will be back there when all the Covid 19 restrictions are gone and the restaurants etc will be open again.

We visited Dokkum during the admiralty days which was very exciting and lively. The hotel had very comfortable and cozy rooms, friendly staff, and extraordinary restaurant with good choice of food and drinks.

Everything! Located in a beautiful little town near the sea. Exceptional ancient building renovated with a lot of style and eye for detail. Squeaky clean and lovely staff, always happy to help with a smile. We absolutely loved i!

Nothing negative to say!

Excellent breakfast, very friendly personnel, attention to detail, very comfortable, right in the center of Dokkum, secure indoor bicycle parking, great bluetooth speaker present in the room.

Very little light in the bathroom which is nice for atmosphere but very impractical.

Very friendly staff - food was good and room clean and stylish … wish we’d not had a basement room but probably due to booking late .. stairwell a bit noisy in the evening .. very convenient in Centre of Dokkum … parking a bit of a problem as they have very restricted spaces .. so on-street..

The breakfast with personal service in high ceiling big stilish breakfast room is the best! The king bed was xxl and very comfortable. The location is extremely central Dokkum. The staff is attentive big time. Loved it!

No screens to keep bugs out and no airco, the room was a bit warm.

Parking, very narrow and congested. Difficult to change due to the design of the hotel! :-)
