Hotel Erve Hulsbeek

The service received was excellent, the room was comfortable and well presented. We have a very nice room on the ground floor with a terrace overlooking the gardens. The staff were very polite, helpful and bilingual. Great nights sleep with lovely rural grounds to explore. The breakfast was very good with a wide verity on offer. Thank you.

There is not much to dislike about this property but a comment from my son 'I wish they had crepe/pancakes at breakfast'. There was a coffee machine in the room but no instructions on how to use it. Not that I would use it, just an observation.

This is a truly wonderful property and place to stay. There are more positives than negatives. The staff is seriously cool and on it. The food was wonderful. The pumpkin soup with enoki that the chef made is something I would want to eat often. They were very attentive to food issues and allergies.

We didn't think to buy water before getting to the premises. The amount they charge for a bottle of water is quite frankly flabbergasting. I didn't realize the price was so high until the end of the trip. For me, I have to say....we are already paying a premium for the location, for food and for the experience. There is absolutely no reason to price gouge people for water. The canned Pepsi is around 2 to 3 euro. This is something that i find repugnant. Charge for the experience and the things you provide. But, don't over price every single thing else. It is the difference between a wonderful weekend and feeling like you are nothing more than a price point.

We loved everything about our stay at the Erve Hulsbeek. The location is amazing, the hotel room spotless and at restaurant great food. The best of all and unique is that Dogs are allowed at the restaurant and also at breakfast. We came with our miniature poodle Simba and not only was he welcomed in the hotel room with its own blanket and cookies, but he was very happy to be able to go with us to the breakfast area and we love the experience as well. The owner and his family are so friendly and welcoming, we are already planning our next stay. Everyone with a dog, we can only recommend you to try Erve Hulsbeek, you will have a great time. There was nothing to not like

Nice rooms, quiet and the temperature was good. Rooms were cleaned daily. The coffee machine in the room was welcome. Nice to be able to use the shower, sink and toilet individually as that meant we could all get ready quickly. There is no bathroom, just a bathroom area. The outside space was really nice and gave us more room when the sun was out.

Shower didn't allow much privacy. Not a huge selection for breakfast but it was fine for scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, ham and cereal. The fridge in the room does not do any cooling.

This is absolutely stunning hotel set in the most beautiful idyllic surroundings and is a total escape. It is next to a beautiful lake with much to do around it for both adults and children. We are only had one night to stay as we were travelling through. The hosts are lovely and you can tell it is a hotel run by family, and with lovely staff. Do not hesitate to book this fantastic escape from the chaos of travelling.

Nothing.

Breakfast was good quality produce - I couldn't eat lots of it because I am vegan, I had some bread and fruit (but I also didn't warn the hotel in advance), I let them know for dinner and they made the most amazing vegan option which was delicious. Staff were all lovely and friendly, when my taxi didn't arrive to take me to work I was driven down! Far beyond my expectations. Room was clean, well designed and comfortable.

The only thing that I struggled with is I couldn't get the thermostat to heat up the room (would only turn up to 23) and I found it quite cold in there. I don't think it actually reached 23 as I had to keep a jumper on and I don't usually suffer from the cold.

Erve Hulsbeek is situated in an extensive recreational area with a swimming lake, woodland, camping and outdoor play facilities. The property itself is modern and spread across a few low level buildings with plenty of free parking space and a restaurant. We liked our spacious room with an extra bedroom for the teenagers, enjoyed the tasty breakfast, the very friendly staff and the fact that our dog was welcome everywhere in the hotel.

Given the size of the room and the somewhat remote location of the property we would have liked to find some basic kitchen facilities in the room such as a microwave perhaps and glasses, plates and cutlery. Unfortunately the fridge is tiny and doesn't even really fit a bottle of wine or water and doesn't properly cool either. We would also recommend to put a slightly larger table in the room to enjoy family games and a bit of a meal together. And last but not least we were at times confused about the functioning of the light switches, some strange connections had been made there.

We loved the location, the ambiance, the decor, the many conveniences, the bike rental, the included extended breakfasts, the food including the BBQ that was organized for our family reunion, the excellent personalized service and much more!

There was not a single thing to dislike.

The property is very beautiful, nearby a very nice lake with plenty of activities and great to walk around. The terrasse by the pound is also really beautiful and the staff very friendly.

The rooms are surprisingly very small, and the bathroom is not separated by any door to the room : you therefore enter the shower (and toilet) directly from the bedroom, and there is pretty much no sound isolation between them.

- property is nicely located, in the middle of the forest - many cycling/hiking trails in the nearby hood - there is a nice recreation area with many playgrounds for children next to the lake (2 min walk from the hotel) - restaurant's food is excellent - water cooker and nespresso machine in the room , 4 cups for free in the room, possible to buy extra cups for Eur 0.50 - the room (108) was spacious with a small-children's room which is only accessible via the main room (2 single beds of normal length next to each other inside) - the WiFi is working good enough for streaming and the TV set has multiple HDMI ports

- the mattresses are very soft - the sauna in the room is an infra-red sauna, for one sitting person. We expected Scandinavian style sauna for 2 persons sitting together - jacuzzi is working too softly for a 'massage experience' - if there is a family staying in the room, the table is too small (2 parents + 2 children). - It would be nice to have a light above the table. - the sofa misses cushions to sit really comfortable on it. We had to ask for extra pillows. - sometimes the communication between the hotel staff and the restaurant is not working smoothly.
