Bilderberg Hotel De Bovenste Molen

We had a family room that actually had 2 bedrooms. That was a very nice surprise, that gave us the space we need for a family of 4. The hotel is amazing, in a beautiful nature location, in front of a lake, and with multiple walking routes in the forest nearby. The personnel is very professional, attentive and helpful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a large choice that can satisfy all tastes. There is also a great swimming pool, with warm water and 2 saunas.

One of the reason we chose this hotel is that it has EV chargers. The hotel needs to make sure that the parking places dedicated to charging electric cars are not used by non-EV. Unfortunately, that was the case every day, and even if there are enough parking places at the property, people still chose to occupy the ones provided with electric chargers, even if they don't need them.

Beautiful location. Great staff. Awesome breakfast. Chargers for electric vehicles. They even had fly screens on the window. And for breakfast, one could sit on the terrace directly at the small sea. Loved it.

Upfront: None of these issues were real issues! We booked a room without air condition, and it was really warm at night. Again, our fault, but you should be aware of this. And the lift did only work in a limited way, but the staff communicated that clearly and even offered support with the luggage, which we really liked.

The Surrounding of the Hotel is extremely beautiful, the Restaurant at the Lake is spectacular. The Food of the Restaurant was excellent, also the Breakfast was very good.

The Seperate Beds were very narrow when separated, sometimes in the night it felt like falling off ... Worst Part of our stay was being stranded with no taxi transportation possible to organize by the staff. As we arrived with plane to venlo GLider-Airfield we needed Taxi transportation 4 Times to/from the Hotel, but due to an event in venlo no taxi services were available - so far so bad. Unfortionately there was no transportation available to be organised by the hotel, so we were left totally on our own... Does the hotel have no cars, limousines or others available to be used by staff in a situation like this ?

the surrounding is exceptional with the lake and forrest the staff was very nice the breakfast is absolutely worth the price with high variety of breads and cheese the pool was also great to relax in the evening not far away from the center

one day the sauna and the steam bath did not work the dinner was not our taste, the quality was good but we did not like the way of the steak was done, the hamburger way quite basic

Very comfortable room and facilities. Excellent breakfast, and delicious ( if expensive) dinner. Wonder, friendly and effective service from Maria. Highlight of stay was the sauna.

I was not happy to be charged ‘City tax’ and ‘Service charge’ by the hotel before leaving, when it clearly stated on ‘Booking ____’ that all taxes and fees were included.

The setting is idyllic, the swimming pool, sauna and steam room, absolute bliss, and the quality of breakfast in the morning, which is all you need to set you up for a wonderful day. Finally the staff are always v friendly and helpful.. No request is ever too much. Thank you all at the Bovenste Molen. 😊

The absence of smoked salmon on the breakfast menu..

The hotel is a little shabby. Particularly the foyer carpet. There was no hot water for the first shower. The radiator in the bathrooms had cobwebs on it. The window sills were not clean. The bathroom was designed very badly and there was very little room to open the shower door. The kettle was not clean. I was asked for my credit card at check in and again at checkout when my details were already in the system. At check out breakfast had been automatically included on the invoice. When I questioned this the condescending receptionist said it was always included initially. This is very wrong, if a guest is in a hurry the guest may not look properly at the invoice. The receptionist at check out needs to learn to explain and communicate in an apologetic manner for mistakes made by the hotel. Her manner and attitude were absolutely not acceptable.

The facilities were good and the provision of walking trails on a map. The room was comfortable but the wardrobes are too dark inside. There were not enough coat hangers but more were provided quickly.

The rooms were very roomy and comfortable and the hotel itself was nestled into a green nature reserve; each time we opened a window we heard bursts of birdsong. The restaurant was excellent - the food was top notch, especially dinner, but breakfast was wonderful. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help or advise. The indoor swimming pool was certainly an added bonus, as was the view onto a lovely little lake with a swan. A wonderful weekend stay.

Breakfast was excellent. Comfort and clean room. Very peaceful place.

Energy efficiency of the building is bad with an one-glass windows. Room was anyway warm even when +2 degrees outside. Someone may not sleep so well in a concert of birds. For me this was not a problem. Energy efficient windows would also help to keep a room more silence.

The hotel is beautiful and was very easy to find after a long journey. Staff was ever so helpful and friendly. Our family room was spacious and clean.

There was no instant coffee in the room which was not refilled and the complementary bottle of water was already opened. There is extra charge for room service with added tax to the price.
