Airport Palms Motel

Very nice smaller motel, modern and well appointed. we found it just right for an overnight stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower was hot and the TV worked well! The environment was surprisingly quiet, and our short stay there prior to flying home to Tasmania was in all ways excellent. Highly recommended for its convenience (quite close to the airport) and excellent value for money. Very helpful and friendly proprietor who gave me perfect advice on where to go to wash and clean our hire car and refuel it prior to returning it to the hire car company (also nearby!)

The only slight negative might be that the rooms do not appear to have air conditioning, so it could be rather hot at some times of the year. Some rooms have very small parking spots, so larger vehicles might be difficult to accommodate.

Comfortable motel close to the airport. We chose this motel mainly because we were able to leave our vehicle there while we were away on holiday (at less cost than the airport car-parks), plus they had an airport shuttle bus. Staff were very helpful and rooms had all the facilities we needed.

Good location for the airport but not if you want to be close to the city centre. Would have been nice if the shuttle bus operated 24/7 because if you have a flight that arrives or departs very early or very late you have to get a taxi.

The staff is friendly, the location is very accessible whether you are coming into or leaving Christchurch. A very solid place to stay if you don't have a lot of things with you, and you're not asking for too much cooking ware. They are very nice to let us arrange a shuttle several hours after check out, and allowed us to leave our luggage there. That allowed us to spend an enjoyable day in the city, and coming back to grab our stuff and depart at the airport later in the afternoon.

It is a very small room, VERY small. But then we did have a lot of things. I guess for the price it is to be expected, so it shouldn't come as a surprise.

The "one-bedroom apartment" we booked was modern, spacious, well equipped, quiet and clean, perfect for a short stay around the airport. The private parking place right in front of our unit was super to unload/load the car fast and efficiently. Communication with the owner was efficient and comprehensive.

The bed was very (too) soft. The standing fan to help cooling the place down (as there is no air conditioning) is quite loud. Still a very good price-value!

Very convenient to the Christchurch airport and shuttle service is provided. Comfortable and clean room. Didn’t need the free laundry but nice that it’s there (one washer, one dryer). Easy walk to neighborhood market and a couple of restaurants (sushi and Thai next to the market). We enjoyed our Thai dinner. There is also a restaurant/bar across the street. Very quiet.

No AC but a fan in the room was provided. If it were very warm it might be uncomfortable since there is no cross breeze (window on one wall only). It was not too warm in mid-March.

Great location to airport for an overnight stay, when coming in on an international flight, that arrived after 1am. After a delayed flight that finally arrived at 2.30am, it was so nice to walk into a warm, clean room with such an amazing comfortable bed.

The only thing that was a little concern was carrying some bags upstairs in the early hours of the morning, hoping not to wake other guests.

This motel was close enough to the airport for that dreadful early flight! It was quite enough and the rooms exceeded our expectations - we were traveling as a family to include a small baby, the staff lovingly provided a cot fully made up with duvet an all!! The separate bedrooms were well equipped and quiet, overall would highly recommend and be staying again! Perfect hosts - very welcoming.

Great location if you need a stay near the airport. The staff were so helpful and friendly. It was the perfect spot for a short pit stop before our very early flight the next morning.

Only small criticism is that the room didn't seem to have an AC/split system, which was fine on a relatively cool night but could have been a little tough on a very hot evening.

Clean, spacious, very comfortable beds, everything provided to make stay easier, location close to Metro bus lane 3 which covers airport, Uni and city centre. Free prompt shuttle too and from airport. Very friendly, helpful staff.

This place is pretty perfect in every way - the only thing I would change would be more channels available on sky.

the rooms were comfortable and very clean and quiet but it was the thoughtful touches which were very much appreciated. The cold water in the fridge and fresh milk for tea and coffee were perfect for the exhausted late arriving traveller.

Just close enough that the taxis don’t like taking you. I left the airport at 1:30am so not much choice but the taxi turned off his meter and charged $30. but this isn’t the motel’s fault.
