Salerno Motel Apartments

Lovely clean apartment room, beautifully renovated bathroom with huge spa bathtub. Room was back from the road so didn't hear a lot of road noise the area is known for. Felt safe and secure. Easy check in and check out process, amazingly helpful and attentive staff - came with to room to turn on the heaters and show how tv and bath etc work. Housekeeping service each day if you want it. Will definitely stay here again.

The service and welcome was fabulous and is what would bring us back to Salerno. We had just completed a 5 day cycle ride and the owner gave us complimentary bath salts for the spa bath. Bliss. She also recommended a delicious Thai takeaway only minutes from the motel. For a small fee they did all our washing and returned it to the room later that day.

There was nothing we didnt like.

Absolutely perfect! No complaints whatsoever, and to be honest I would ignore most if not all of the negative reviews from others as they’re actually quite pathetic. The room smelled amazing the moment we walked in, clean, nicely updated. Everything you would need they had, bathroom products, kitchen utensils and a nice selection of coffees & teas. At check-in they offered free toothbrush&paste, razor and hand-made soap. As well as a couple options to purchase snacks. The lady at the office was absolutely lovely! Ran us over a couple things to remember. The road noise is not bad at all, but if you can’t handle a little noise then don’t book in the city. Parking was good, spa was nice, shower was amazing!! Absolutely no complaints! Bed was firm and to our preference which was great. We will definitely be back. We got an upstairs unit, good view over parking lot so our car was in sight, our unit was number 9 and it suited me perfectly as no one needed to walk passed it being the unit on the end.

Be mindful of the tiled floor, can be rather slippery.

spacious and clean bathroom and even though a small kitchen it had good amount of utensils and cups etc. Great location, nice and quiet guests all around so didnt hear any noise apart from some traffic in the night so felt safe.

I didn't like the tired and worn out 2 seater in the lounge. It wasn't comfortable and for 2 adults it was too small. The room can fit a 3 seater couch and would feel more homely. Also the couch was quite saggy so felt like it was well worn.

We stayed 5 nights at Salerno Motel during our recent visit to Christchurch. Although from the outside, it may look a bit tired, our spa room was everything we wanted - comfortable bed and bedding, great shower, comfortable seating area as well as a table & chairs for meals and an outdoor balcony. Its proximity to the CBD meant that most of our sight seeing, shopping etc was just a walk away.

The room was well appointed and comfortable for our short stay.and everything was beautifully clean. Parking was plentiful and easily accessed from the road. Staff were friendly and courteous, kindly showing us around the apartment on arrival. It is a short drive to the city centre, but there is a reasonable range of bars and eateries within a short walk of the apartments. We would be very happy to recommend the accommodation to others.

This motel is central to everything was very clean and comfortable staff were very helpful and polite

the sofa in the lounge area needs replacing as when you sit on it you sink nearly to the floor and its very hard to get out of and the parking was a bit hard to get into cause they share the parking with the business next door and that's a pain .can be a bit noise on a friday and saturday night with the boy races but not to bad

On the website it mentions quiet As my husband needs a good nights sleep The traffic noise, even though right by busy road, modern glazing does block out noise somewhat. This room does not have double glazing My side of the bed was giving me the feeling I was going to roll out We enjoy staying here as the spa bath is very relaxing We will return

More noise reduction would improve our stay a lot

This ticked all the boxes for us. Friendly and helpful staff, great location, clean and modern, spacious room, comfy bed, awesome shower pressure and the little things like real milk (and cookies!), big fluffy towels, a decent iron and both soft and hard pillows. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you!
