Fernhill Motor Lodge

We had a two bedroom apartment which suited our needs. A well appointed kitchenette and good shower.

The apartment is a little tired and expensive for what it is.

Friendly staff.

Not really scomplaint but would have liked a table and a stand for our suit case.

Really comfortable bed. Good sized unit, with disabled access bathroom. Small kitchenette including microwave, fridge, and hob. Range of heaters and fans to choose from, and a ranchslider giving outdoor access for fresh air. An older style motel complex, but really well maintained, and spotlessly clean.

The railway is really close, which disrupted my sleep the first night, but after that I didn't hear it, so slept well for the other two nights.

Great friendly reception. Received personal text advising how to access key but when advised Laura we were only five minutes away she kindly waited and explained everything to us. Really appreciated. Room clean and tidy. Bed very comfy. Traffic noise not a problem . Due to Ferry cancellation we were lucky enough to rebook our room for a second night. Thank you. 😊

Good size room, friendly staff and quiet.

Chair not the right height to work at the desk. A big issue if you want to work at your laptop. Other less important problem is location if you don't have a car. 20 minutes to nearest food outlet.

On arrival receptionist was very welcoming and smiling she warmed our room up for us, was very helpful on directions we wanted to know and also on what the Lodge has to offer etc ... very nice young lady. The Lodge is very close to our Business Conference, our room was spacious and warm comfy lounge chairs nice kitchen fully equipped, beautiful water pressure in the shower clean, serviced daily.

We had other commitments and couldnt stay longer to enjoy the city activities.

The room was great and the staff were very willing to work with our late check in time despite check in closing at 6 I believe

There were some people in the parking lot blasting music not really the fault of the inn just kind of freaked us out when we were checking in at 11pm

Disappointed the restaurant advertised out front wasn’t operating. Suggest sign is removed for other folk thinking the same as I did.

There didn’t seem to be an information book about what is around, restaurants, local attractions etc, but we might have just not looked in the right place.

Large room, was very comfortable. It was nice and warm on arrival as heating had been turned on for me. Parking was very convenient as it was in own grounds & was right outside building. I appreciated the Fish & chip takeaway recommendation.

Cups supplied have a metal handle, would have liked a mug or cup that I could have put in microwave as sometimes my tea or coffee gets cold before I finish it.
