The Crown Hotel

Staff were awesome and really lovely! The view from the room and the soundproofing are awesome. Good sized room, we appreciate the good size area for the luggage and that the toilet is separate from the shower area.

The room smelt funny when we first arrived. For the price of the room we were disappointed by the bed, it was really uncomfortable we suspect it is two singles put together? Otherwise, great place to stay.

We asked for an upgrade on the room (studio) because it was right by the footpath and we could see alot of people walking pass, the room they moved us to was excellent everything about was absolutely bliss we couldnt hear traffic it was warm and comfy Tv in the main room and bedroom. Easy to get to our room by elevator or stairs. There was a restaurant there on the 1st floor. our car was secure with under ground parking. loved every bit about it.

I've stayed at the Crown many times. The location in Ahuriri is always great, with places to meander over the road, cycle tracks near especially on the wetlands. There is a fine Thai place (book) quite close and lots of places like the Thirsty Whale for burgers and beer. Great coffee shop near (MK Cafe), and a good wine shop. Of course good views of the pacific. The free parking is always a bonus, and the staff always helpful and professional. Good aircon and wi-fi.

If you are on the north facing side (as we were) lots of sun, which is good in winter, but not so good in the height of summer, so have to keep the curtains drawn.

2 brm suite so could accommodate our family well. Loved being so close to the beach and walking distance to the shopping area and restaurants. Staff were a highlight and went the extra distance to make our stay perfect - Ben on reception opening up the house bar for us, the friendly but not obtrusive guy on housekeeping and the man from India who came down to let us in when we had a small access problem.

Can't think of anything - the complex is large but everyone has own privacy and you don't bump into people (unless you want to in restaurant, etc) which made us feel safe in these covid times. Price was a little high but not sure what others charge at the moment.

Spacious bathroom everything is connected. Best part was they allowed us to check out late at no additional cost. Staff are amazing. This was a weekend getaway for my man who works in the bush and he appreciated the staff the setup and room everything. He is someone who would rather sleep in a car haha. Thaaaaank you

The location is excellent and the one bedroom suite we had on the second level had a wonderful view over the sea. The bathrobes were so comfy and the room super spacious. Housekeeping replenished everything each day.

Unfortunately there was a smoker on the ground floor who seemed to always smoke when we wanted to use our balcony which was a real shame. The whole hotel should be non smoking or they could provide a dedicated smoking area near the reception courtyard.

Great location and view. Comfy room. We requested a cot which was provided, along with a baby bath which was super helpful and thoughtful.

Water pressure in the shower could be better, no safe in the room. Not a complaint, more of an FYI...

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room had plenty of space, comfortable bed, lovely decor, bright and clean, with a great view of the town and some sea view. We really appreciated the notes and lovely touches you did to make us feel so welcome, like the welcome book with history of hotel, food in fridge/ counter and sharing things to do in the area.

Highly recommend staying here, it exceeded our expectations. location is perfect to restaurants, eatery cafe, bakery, bar. The view was absolutely breath taking. Our room was very spacious with separate toilet shower and corner spa bath. It has an elevator which is handy at our age.

Our room was on the top floor with a great sea view. The room was spacious enough with a very nicely appointed bathroom including a spa bath. The location was great, easy walking distance to several restaurants and the cafe on the ground floor had excellent coffee and breakfast.
