Farol Hotel

Room was very comfortable and well maintained. Marvellous breakfast and Reception staff.

We were originally offered a room on the top floor. This had ceiling huge beams/rafters at the bottom of the bed which would have been very dangerous, especially during the night, as it would have been necessary to duck under and around the beams every time you moved around the room. Another room was found which was excellent, but if they had not offered us a different room we would have not been able to stay in this hotel. Restaurant menu was very fancy, unless you wanted Sushi. Service at poolside bar was extremely slow and staff seemed inexperienced. In this bar on several days importance was put on serving wedding parties and it appeared there was a shortage of staff for other guests.

very Expensive for a hotel that has seen better days, although the location is excellent and has wonderful sea views.

First room we were moved from as it was not sea view as booked and smaller than I have stayed in living memory. bad value for money if you want to spend time at the hotel.

Where to start! We had an AMAZING experience at the Farol Hotel for our honeymoon. We were upgraded to a beautiful room with a terrace and fantastic sea view and watched the sunset with a bottle of champagne. The breakfast was outstanding and the service truly impeccable. So thankful to the entire Farol team who made our stay so special! The location is also wonderful, just a quick walk into downtown Cascais- but lovely sea views and pool for the ultimate relaxing stay. 10/10!

The design rooms aren’t for everyone. They’re very bold, but super interesting

Fantastic hotel, beautiful ocean views, perfectly located by the ocean, yet close to city center, nice restaurant with good local dishes, good variety of foods for breakfast, breakfast on the terrace facing ocean views. Rented bikes at the hotel and enjoyed the biking path by the ocean right from the hotel to Guincho beach..

Might be a bit noisy in the evening with people dining and staying late in the restaurant and bar (our rooms were just above), so closed the balcony to avoid the noise.. The pool is nit heated, so might be cold for some in May..

I honestly cannot recommend this hotel enough. On arrival we only paid for a standard room but got upgraded to a sea view room and the views were amazing. The rooms were a great size and very clean. We were here for the ironman and the staff were great and even done a certificate for all of those who participated. Between our party there were 3 birthdays. We didnt tell them so they must have just noticed from our passports. We all had a lovely brownie with a candle at breakfast and a bottle of champagne in our rooms in the evening. All the staff were wishing us happy birthday and really made us feel special. They also kept a cake in a fridge for us to give to our friend and give us candles and a lighter. The pool area is beautiful and the sunrise in the morning is breathtaking. The staff are all lovely and genuinely care about you and want you to have a lovely stay. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the marina which is lovely and have lots of cafes and restaurants and about 15 minutes to the town which is beautiful and has a lovely beach. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. We didn’t want to leave. Thank you to all of the staff for making our trip so special!

Great location, views, parking. Very nice rooms, excellent bathroom and shower. Excellent food, breakfast, dinner, wine selection all very nice. The lobby, lounge, and poolside facilities were also excellent. The area is beautiful, great for running, cycling, exercising, or just walks

The staff at the poolside cafe/bar need some additional training. They are not attentive, passing my multiple times, not looking at guests, not checking if someone would like to order Also, their skills in handling drinks, opening, bottles, and pouring wine is lacking. This is add, as the staff in all the other dining and drinking facilities in this hotel are excellent.

with exception of breakfast, food was subpar. think shrimp “ceviche” with chopped up shrimp, shells on (by accident).. in a place with the best shrimp in the world. for the view only. stained carpet in hallways, needed some update or cleaning. despite high design throughout, rooms are simple which was ok.

The hotel is in a great location, close to the Marina and a short walk to the town centre. The hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms are lovely and beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is really good, plenty of variety and good quality. The pool area looks out onto the coast, was very quiet and perfect for relaxing. The staff were great. Very helpful and friendly. We had a great stay and would definitely be back.

The location is great. Our room gave us direct view of the Ocean and the cliffs. We also enjoyed the food very much. Probably the best thing about Farol Hotel is the food.

There is no spa or Sauna. The masseuse comes via appointments only. Some rooms are outdated but perhaps it’s part of the concept… To remain in the 80’s.

The Staff was perfectly friendly. They were very helpful in several things and personal belongings. Good breakfast.

The Air conditioner of the kitchen was loud. You could not hear the ocean, alltough it was directly nearby.
