ADC - Albergaria Do Calvário - by Unlock Hotels

We really enjoyed our time at the Albergaria do Calvario! The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. We made the right choice to stay in a Deluxe Double Room (which the hotel also calls a Superior Room), with a pleasantly spacious bedroom. The bathroom was a little tight but we managed fine. Evora is a very beautiful walled town with many exceptional places to visit. We had a very good light dinner with excellent wines in the hotel on the first evening and really enjoyed Lombardo and O Trovador, both very close to the hotel, on the following evenings. The hotel's beautiful courtyard was a perfect place to enjoy the excellent breakfast. Thank You!

From the minute I arrived everything was perfect. The check in was quick and efficient, the gentleman checking me in was very helpful and polite. The room was very clean with a lovely terrace. Bed was big and bathroom spotless. Within easy walking distance to the main square. Came back for a gin and a coffee and staff were very attentive. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice, staff again very polite, attentive and helpful. Room was very quiet, great nights sleep, bed was comfortable. Mini bar in room. Would highly recommend and will be returning.

There was nothing to not like.

The hotel was very nice, quaint, clean, with elements of the original property presevered. Joao at the check in was wonderful. He provided a thorough overview of the town, things to see and do, restaurant recommendations, and helped us to rearrange a booking we had made. He took our bags to the room for us. Room size was good. The hotel grounds were nice. Breakfast was very good. The location just inside the city wall was great. We would have stayed a second night if a room had been available.

The doors to the rooms in the section we were in were very close together and conversations in the rooms could be heard in the hallway, as could loud walking and opening and closing of doors.

We liked everything about this property. It’s in an excellent location within the city walls steps from the Roman aqueduct. There is secure underground parking. The breakfast was excellent and there is a an outside patio where drinks and tapas. Our room was large with a comfortable king bed. The staff was so helpful that we actually added a tip to our bill, something we rarely do other than leaving something in the room for housekeeping.

Honestly, we can’t think of anything about the property we didn’t like. We would certainly stay there again if we are fortunate enough to return to Evora.

The staff is wonderful, especially Jao. He took the time to orient us to Evora and point out the things that he felt we should see during our short visit. His recommendation for dinner was wonderful. The breakfast is very well done with plenty of choices. You can eat outside in the garden which was really pleasant and charming. We loved the fact that the hotel was a bit away from core tourist area of Evora, but still within the wall. It is an easy walk to all the sights. The room was quite large and very comfortable.

Be aware that some rooms require going up a flight of stairs. This wasn't an issue for us, but those with mobility issues may want to ask for a room that uses an elevator. They have underground parking (for a fee) which is helpful because parking near the hotel is tough. The two free, public, hotel parking spaces seemed to be filled by the same cars.

This is a beautiful hotel right inside the city wall. We were thrilled they have underground parking. While our room was on the 2nd floor and there wasn't an elevator on our side of the building the staff were very willing to help you with your bags. The staff made our stay very special. Thank you Diogo for all of your help and advice. The patio area was beautiful and the sky at night an amazing deep blue color. The breakfast buffet has a nice selection and the staff can prepare pancakes and/or eggs to order. The room was very quiet with the exception of the sounds of an amazing song bird each morning. I love this hotel!

The shower stall was a bit tight and a larger person might have some trouble. There may be different shower setups in different rooms. This would NOT keep me from staying here again.

The hotel is convenient within walking distance to the town of Evora. Staff was friendly and helpful --making recommendations on places to see and dine.

Room was a bit outdated. Could use a little makeover, but it was cozy for our one night in Evora. Wish we could have stayed longer. Drive to Guadalupe to see the Megalithic Circuit! Wish we could have tried Dom Joaquim's--but they were closed for vacation! Maybe next time!

I especially liked how friendly the staff was and how helpful they were. Top! The room was very clean and air conditioning was so comfortable when we walked in. Elevator from the parking garage was also very convenient.

Well I can only think of one thing which was when we went to breakfast it wasnt clear that you could order pancakes, eggs, bacon from the kitchen. I thought our choices were on the counter which where good choices but it would have been nice to know other things were available. Maybe a sign which indicates you can ask for these things and also I did order pancakes but they were not completely done in the middle bit I also know pancakes are tricky to get just right. Everything else was Top!

We had a beautiful spacious room with large bathroom and a balcony. It was a relaxing stay on a lengthy journey. Great location for walking around Evora. Quiet. Excellent breakfast.

While friendly and helpful, staff (Jaoa) needs a better fitting mask that isn't falling off his nose most of the time. Underground parking is convenient but a tight fit and a steep ramp. Don't consider it if your car is larger than a compact.

Nice location, set away from the busy main roads, very friendly staff and very clean, good value for money overall.

There is underground parking available but the way the entry is designed makes it a challenge to enter, anything bigger than a smart car or a mini might test your driving skills to get in and out, there is a few spaces just outside the hotel on the street where you may park for free but these may be hard to find during busy times. The breakfast was fine, would have been nice to see some of the local hams and cheeses available instead of the standard processed stuff since Alentejo is renowned for them amongst other things. It was a comfortable 2 night stay, however the hotel bedrooms in general seem fairly dated but certainly comfortable.
