Hotel Laranjeira

We had a lovely bright room and a balcony with a lovely view. The staff were so nice, especially the man on reception (I think he was the owner) and the people serving breakfast. They were so nice, making sure we had enough to eat and refilling our coffee. The lady was so lovely taking care of everyone and even wrapping up some food for people to take with them.

I think the cleaners overlooked a few minor things in our room. The back of the toilet hadn't been wiped and I found a good few hairs in the bathroom. The walls are thin and the neighbours were very noisy early in the morning. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

The staff was extremely friend and helpful throughout my stay. They arranged a late check-out for me and it was very lovely. The location is excellent, close to everything in Viana do Castelo. The breakfast was lovely. Perfect if you're travelling alone or with family as the staff really is so home. It's also great to have all the options for extra amenities you might need (umbrella, raincoat, etc.) and bike rentals.

The walls are rather thin and you can really hear what is happening in the adjacent rooms, perhaps bring some earplugs if you're sensitive to that. The lights in my room were all white and so that didn't feel very cozy, yellow lights really make a difference.

Great location, 2 blocks from the train and bus stations, in Viana’s beautiful historical center. The staff was wonderful, very helpful. They kept a suitcase for us for two weeks (we stayed right before starting a Camino and again after returning). Breakfast was good. The room was very clean.

Both times we stayed on the top floor, in an attic-like room. It had a nice terrace with a very nice view but you had to be careful not to bump your head in part of the room. The shower had good, consistent hot water. The only complaint is that it was a small shower, you kind of had to squeeze yourself into it and your movement within was very restricted. The price of the room was a little high compared to some other good options, but it was a nice place run by very nice people.

The location was perfect, easy walking distance from the train station and all of the towns attractions. Very clean and well maintained. The gentleman at reception was so welcoming, friendly and informative, the team at breakfast were the most attentive and helpful staff we have ever encountered, all a credit to the hotel. We will be returning. Thank you for an excellent stay.

It's difficult to find anything that we did not like, a more spacious room and balcony would have been nice but space understandably, is not something that can reasonably be requested. However, the size of the room and balcony were adequate.

Location is excellent for the town. Reception staff exceptionally helpful and friendly - our son needed some minor medical treatment and the staff could not have been more helpful. Balcony on our 3rd floor room was lovely, a great bonus. Parking was convenient as they have an arrangement with spacious underground carpark nearby. Price was very good.

The ensuite bathrooms are well equipped but have glass doors and walls. As we were a family of five (in 2 rooms) some of our party were not very keen on this feature! The breakfast was OK, no complaints but nothing special. But overall we were delighted with Hotel Laranjeira and would definitely stay again.

The hotel I would like to find in every place I go. When I arrived I was welcomed by the owner who advised me and gave me all the details for my stay without asking. My too was nice and brand new, breakfast served by the pleasant staff who cares for you even beforehand should you leave earlier. Right priced, a two-star-hotel which would be 3 and sometimes even better. Obrigado!

Attentive reception staff, especially Ricardo this morning. He opened up breakfast for us ahead of time so we could eat before leaving early for Camino. He was just great. Hotel is positioned well.

Beds too low for weary bodies. Plus only one very small pillow. Made sleeping quite difficult. Side "dressers" if you can call them that are on the slant , so your belongings roll off.

The breakfast was superb, a full continental, the staff were very attentive and always offered more of everything if you wanted, we were well looked after, excellent location to explore the town, everything within easy walking distance, the reception staff were very welcoming and helpful, the whole hotel was immaculately clean.and a lift to all floors which was lovely. ,

Nothing not to like!

Very nice hotel in the historical center of Viana do Castelo. Lots of small shops, cafés and restaurants nearby. Only a 5 minutes walk to the funicular up to the Santa Luzia church. Very nice and attentive staff that gave us a lot of good advice about what to visit and restaurants for dinner. Some parking spaces available in the basement of the hotel.

Location was great, near everything needed, the staff were kind and very helpful. A very new renovation..A fantastic breakfast with all kinds of everything.. a very generous woman in the dining room, serving extra chocolate cake so kind, like my own mother. It was a really nice stay on our caminho and again gave us a taste of the best of human nature.
