Hotel Almirante

Large room and balcony, the most comfortable bed, great shower and toiletries. Staff are very professional and attentive. Very good selection of food for breakfast. Restaurant and bar area are very cosy and comfortable. Beautiful swimming pool. Very good location to enjoy San Juan beach. The tram is only 5 min walk and brings you to Alicante in 15 min. Taxis to Alicante was around €15. Our flight was not until late at night but we were able to enjoy the pool for the day, they provide locker room for luggage and there are changing rooms/shower and towels provided to be able to get changed before heading to the airport. I’m surprised it has only 3 starts. It has a 5 start comfort.

Modern refurbishment of common areas, facilities and rooms. Nice size balcony, proximity to beach, promenade and tram. Breakfasts were a real highlight which a fantastic selection in the main restaurant areas (smoked salmon, local cheeses, churros and pancakes all nice touches). Grounds were lovely including the all year round open pool area (just note, pool is not practically useable out of season (Wim Hof maybe). Loved the bar area and friendly staff…we ate out in the main, but enjoyed a really good bar lunch on the final day.

Nothing significant…the pool temperature was a real disappointment to my 10 year old son as the limited heat jets didn’t make any impact so essentially unusable even though 22/23c sunshine (granted it was November, and I appreciate the cost & environmental trade offs to consider). The rooms walls are thin so you can hear everything that’s going on around you, not a major problem for us, but worth knowing if you are a light sleeper!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Almirante. The hotel is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The decor is very modern and there are so many lovely details inside and out throughout the pool area and surrounding grounds. We ate quite a few times in the restaurant / cafe and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We also enjoyed the cocktails / mocktails too! The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. Just a few mins walk to a stunning beach, numerous restaurants and supermarkets nearby, and 5/10 minute walk to the tram to the surrounding areas of Alicante etc, it really is a fantastic location in so many ways.

We had a lovely room with a view over the pool and a good sized balcony. Check in was efficient abd staff were helpful. Room and bathroom were pristine clean. The hotel has an air of quiet efficiency. Outside the grounds were immaculate and there is a fine swimming area with lots of sunbeds and shaded areas..The breakfast was absolutely superb. It is a mystery why this hotel has only 3 stars. It is a 4 star at least. To get to the city centre you can take bus 21 from Costa Blanca bus stop which is 500 metres away.. Alternatively take the tram from Costa Blanca tram stop (you can pay by contactless card on board) into Luceros which is the City centre. There is a large supermarket very close to the hotel. Free apples at reception is a nice touch.

Area is quiet but this is part of its charm. There are not many restaurants around but in fairness if you hop on a tram you can be in the city cenre in 15 minutes. About a 10 minute walk inland gives you a good selection of coffee shops. WiFi can be a little sluggish occasionally.

The family owned Hotel is located 200m from the beach. Supermarket is only a quick walk away. Tram station in 600meters/10minute walk down the promenade. It takes 15 minutes to Alicante Old Town. We booked the Premium Double Room with Balcony/Terrace in April. Very modern, EXTREMELY clean, shower is amazing (water pressure and water quality is perfect!), AC is great, room is QUIET, Wardrobe is spacious and BEAUTIFUL view. The pool and garden area is beautiful, clean, soft music is playing, palm trees, daybeds,... Lovely. The stuff is very friendly, overly helpful and the breakfast is great quality. The Restaurant is very good too. The interior of the whole hotel is so well designed, 5G Wifi. We loved it and would recommend to anybody.

We loved everything about the property, it was exceptionally clean throughout. The staff couldn’t be more helpful, the food was delicious, the pool was amazing with its lovely quiet and relaxed atmosphere and really efficient pool bar & snack service! We spent a week here. The location of the hotel is just on the beach of San Juan, a beautiful clean beach. The tram is about 7 mins walk to the hotel. Very cheap (€1.95 one way for 2 people) and very efficient. We travelled about 20 mins to the old town a few evenings for dinner. A beautiful spot! There are also many great restaurants within a short walking distance from the hotel.

There was nothing we didn’t like

Really clean and a comfortable room. Far enough from the road so no worry about traffic noise. Beech is 3 minutes away and the tram about 5 mins. Very good Spanish restaurant and also bar food. Superb breakfast layout in the morning. Most rooms have a view of the beach and there is also a decent sized pool. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is a big supermarket less than 10 minutes away with good prices. Will definitely be returning.

Could not fault the hotel. Because it is located in a mainly residential area, knowing a little Spanish is very helpful.

The location was grreat. The hotel is located across the road from a beautiful beach where you can rent lounge chairs and umbrellas. There is an amazing restaurant on the beach (not affiliated with the hotel). Around the hotel there are beautiful, modern residences and the area is very quiet. The hotel is beautifully decorated: modern, cozy yet sophisticated. The room was clean, decent size and the beds were comfortable. The balconies all had sea view. The free parking at the hotel grounds was a definite plus.

Breakfast buffet was expensive considering the selection. The pastaries were not fresh … The marmalade, butter, cheeses were good, cold cuts OK.. There were good selection of fruit. The coffee was horrible. Considering all the breakfast buffets we had at many other hotels in the past two months, this was the worst considering the quality and price.

Had an amazing one week stay, nicely situated on the beautiful San Juan beach with a tram stop being only a few minutes away made it very easy for us to get around town. Great pool area and lovely little bar/restaurant. Many thanks to Raquel (reception), Juan & Jorge (bar), and all the staff who we didn't get to fully meet. Raquel did an exceptional job dealing with a difficult guest next door who demanded reception to kick us out of the hotel due to him not being happy about our noise level eating dinner and watching TV in the room at 10pm. The walls are very thin so keep that in mind going in, however we slept great during our stay. Juan and Jorge are awesome dudes and they did an amazing job with making us feel at home and relaxed the whole week!

No such thing, We liked everything.

The lobby, restaurant and pool area felt more 5 star! The room is quite simple, but suitable for the price and as a 3 star hotel. I especially appreciated how accommodating and friendly the staff were. The food at the restaurant is delicious, great room service and the breakfast had a huge selection. I was able to spend the afternoon at the pool, order a Pina Colada and use the available change room all after checking out. It is right across the street from the most beautiful beach and expansive boardwalk, fantastic for walks at any time of the day. The balcony was perfect with an amazing view that I thoroughly enjoyed. A wonderful experience and I hope to visit again!

I would have liked a tea and coffee station in my room, as this would have made my stay exceptional!
