Hotel Matilde by gaiarooms

Location is excellent, right next to the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca, in the heart of the old town. It is an old building, but the rooms are renovated in a modern and clean way, with even a balcony to chill and watch people going about.

I found the bed and, especially, the pillows too hard. I normally do not mind this kind of things, and I am usually lucky enough to sleep well wherever. However, in this case, I woke up several times throughout the night with a stiff neck.

The location is ideal. Plaza Mayor is just a minute walk. It's very central in the tourist sights. Room was fairly big. WIFI was strong. Smart TV allowed me to put in my own details for Streaming apps so I could watch. Breakfast was decent - table service of coffee, juice, yogurt with fruit or fruit bowl and bread of choice.

It's a bit confusing when you first arrive as there is no reception. You receive an email with a code to enter the lobby. In the lobby, there is a machine where you pay etc, depending on what kind of option you've chosen at the time of reservation. I would still go for this hotel but would have appreciated a more step by step instruction on how to go about it.

The location was fantastic, right in the heart of Salamanca. The terrace had a great view over the old city center and a stork family. Room was nice and clean. Nice bathroom. It was fine with the digital key-system once we found out, how it worked.

The bed seemed too small and too soft for 2 people. The bathroom could use better ventilation. Be aware, that there is no parking at the hotel, so if you come by car, you'll have to find a private parking. The reception was very helpful with that.

Excellent location, the room size and condort surpassed the expectations. Really clean and spacious bathroom. Can't recommend it enough.

A couple of small things would be the elevator isn't as renewed as all the rest of the building. The breakfast could offer more variable options. The pillows were a bit hard, and the mattress was the extreme opposite, but this is just my comfort habits.

Its location is in the historic center, so it's very convenient for travelers. Open the window and you can see the historic center.

Self-service check in has no guidance in English or other languages. If you don't know Spanish, you may have a lot of trouble when checking in. Additionally,there is a huge exhaust pipe outside the window, so it is very noisy and disturbs the rest of the night.

Located next to the main square with many bars and restaurants. I didn’t understand that this hotel has no staff. Check-in is best done online before arrival. The parking is not at the hotel, so don’t try to drive there.

My room was at the top at the back. If I opened the window, the noise of fans and extractors was too much. However, I am sure that street side would be fine.

Awesome location in Salamanca, a very short walk from the main sites. Rooms very comfortable, modern and very clean - at a really great price!

While I appreciated the keyless entry and easy check in process, I didn’t know until I arrived that the hotel didn’t have on-site staff. Luggage storage was also at a different property (a quick walk, but still unexpected)

Online check in and online key are really good options! So nice and new house! Location is awesome, right in the city center. A lot of good restaurants around.

The breakfast is right in the same building. Menu system. But for the whole restaurant the was only one worker. As a waiters, barista and cook. So we spent like an hour waiting on a breakfast. Please, add more staff to help those man!

Location location location. Could not have been better to explore the inner city of Old Salamanca . Minutes from everything worth seeing.

great location, very close to plaza and all restaurants . breakfast was perfect. breakfast staff were helpful. clean room and balcony was great to sit and watch the evening sunset over the city.

electronic key was confusing at first arrival and no reception staff. but we got sorted. so no big deal.
