Silken Ciudad de Vitoria

Most excellent hotel and location! Our second stay and it was every bit as good as we remembered. Would be our first choice for another Vitoria visit. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful.

Great parking that you can drive right up to and use the call box to talk to Reception who will buzz you in. However, this feature/service is not advertised so most certainly missed by most first timers. A shame when it is so convenient.

Location was good as I was there for the IronMan and it was just a 7 minute walk to everything.

I was overcharged for that week because of the IronMan. The Hotel did upsize my room to a suit, but I would have been extremely disappointed if they did not. There was also an offer for the Mini-bar, but it was not topped up every day. Also the night before the IronMan there was a pasta dinner. It was not very good and ideally we need to be eating at 6.30 - 7PM so the hotel needs to be flexible to open early.

The staff were wonderful and overall the hotel looked lovely and was very clean. It was easy to access the underground carpark. Breakfast was good and overall the location was very good with easy access to the old city.

The Vitoria Marathon was taking place on the day we checked in and many roads were closed. We had to park in a side street and wait for two hours before we could drive to the hotel. An email warning us of that would have been very useful. The pillows were a little too firm for us, and the cups provided were only suitable for espresso. However, I was able to collect larger cups from the cafe on the ground floor.

I felt the location was good and our room was comfortable. The hotel was interesting in that it had an internal fake garden area which was a nice touch. The restaurant was pleasant as was the cafe.

Having just been in another Silken hotel I was a little disappointed with some of the differences e.g. no Rituals products available for use. Shame the piano bar was not in use and looks as if it isn't about to be in use at anytime soon. It can be nice to sit and have a drink in a comfortable area rather than the cafe. Hate the hairdryers - holding in the button in to make it work is hard going - why hot have one that can be used outside the bathroom!

Almost everything, from smooth and friendly check-in to the spacious, tasteful and comfortable bed. Room provided with the essential kettle and coffee/tea.The ample desk was a good extra. The bathroom had everything. Including a razor-set and toothbrush with paste! ( These were sealed, so I didn't open them). Freezer and good wardrobe space. The adjacent restaurant worked as a breakfast room serving a hot and cold and perfect start of the day. I even tried the pinxtos/pinchos in the restaurant on arrival. Wish I had taken the recipe!

There was just one - not too big - flaw that I can think of and to me as a notorious insomniac this is of some importance: There was too much noise from the street outside. Particularly from motor cyclists revving their engines. Better sound insulation (curtains, glazing etc) streetwise would mean a lot. Mind you, I put my ear plugs in and had a good sleep!

Silken Ciudad de Vitoria is situated SW of the city centre and old town, very close to the 'new' Cathedral. It is a comfortable walk to the city centre, which we found to be very lively. Car parking was reasonably convenient to the hotel. The hotel is vey modern, catering to both leisure and business clientele, and our room was large, modern, well appointed, and very comfortable. Breakfast was good as well. Despite being a large hotel, the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

We could not find the hotel's own parking lot, so we parked in the adjacent Cathedral car park, which seemed to be more expensive. The hotel could have given better directions to its own car parking, although it offered both its own and the Cathedral car parks as options.

This is my first choice for when I stay in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Location is fine for walks into the city centre, and it's easy enough to find from the main road into V-G. The facilities are comfortable and the underground carpark is a little more generous in terms of spaces and width of access ramp than many hotels. Breakfast is good value.

Maybe it was because it was Sunday night, or perhaps it's a temporary thing but I was a little disappointed to see the Wellington Piano Bar closed - you can get a beer at the bar in the cafe on site, but the Wellington Bar was a nice place to start or round off an evening in V-G.

positives: clean, comfortable room, friendly staff, great location, great secure parking. second time using and would come again with a few changes!

even better if: a) we tried to call hotel 4 times, were out on hold every time for over 10 minutes and had to hang up - clearly short staffed b) the room was FAR too hot and there was no explanation how to work the air-conditioning. I turned down to 15 but nothing happened, should have switched it off c) insulation was poor and there was a lot of noise from the street. we opened the windows for 10 mins to cool the room androgen was noisy but when we closed them the noise level did not reduce as much as we expected

Fabulous location, really comfortable rooms spotlessly cleaned everyday. Great cafe in the hotel with reasonable prices. Staff were polite and friendly.

We hoped to take advantage of the late checkout but unfortunately as the hotel was full we had to leave our room at 1pm a little later than the normal time but we thought we may be able to stay later as our flight wasn't until 10.40 pm. Apart from that it was perfect. So quiet, rooms totally soundproofed.

The hotel is great, location excellent, parking easy and they accept bikers. Everything is very nice in this hotel and it lives up to its 4star rating, location is easy to get to via car or motorcycle and they have a fully secured underground parking facility. It was wonderful and quiet with everything we needed. All in all a great hotel 👍

Although it's silken hotel, the name on the building front is "Hotel Ciudad de Vitoria" this was a little confusing for me. Apart from that all is good
