A Casa da Meixida

I was completely surprised by this rather special out of the way place . The receptionist was so welcoming and allowed me to change my room to one with more sunlight ( I ‘d arrived early after a long Camino walk) so that could enjoy resting in the warmth . She then brought me generous refreshments in the garden . Breakfast was very good. This is a simple but very hospitable place- just a few rooms, but perfect for the last night before walking into Santiago de Compostela.The big hotels could learn a lot from these little places about hospitality . It sounds a bit ominous going down to the restaurant next to a petrol station for dinner but this worked well- and I loved walking in orchard on the farm where this gem of a hotel is located. This was a little treat for me after a few days on the Camino. The welcome was warm and the property amazing. My room was beautiful and clean and very quiet. Breakfast was delicious and a real treat and prepared freshly at my chosen time. I liked the proximity to a local restaurant (although didn't eat there) and gas station, which sold all the provisions I needed for that night. I was offered dinner (€20-30?) and the menu looked lovely but I'm vegetarian so it didn't suit me. I was happy to snaxk from th gas station and enjoy the tranquility of the room.

As always, I wish there was a fridge. Also, not totally suitable for pilgrims needing to wash clothes etc. This is not a complaint, just observation. Also, pilgrims, be aware, this is the other side of a busy road so you need to cross twice.

The breakfast was good, although the melon was past its prime. The coffee was the best part and the server was excellent. The owner drove us to a restaurant/hotel that they own which was lovely (but pricier than expected). The drive was longer than expected so we didn't return to the Casa until late.

The location is off the Camino, which, while it wasn't far, you had to cross a very busy highway (twice--to and from) and walk a distance to find a safe place to cross.

The casa is a lovely old building situated near the Camino and perfect for those who want to make the final journey into Santiago that bit shorter at 20km. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very friendly and obliging. The nearby fuel station has good food for those who want to eat earlier than the 8pm dinner the casa can offer.

The staff were super nice and very helpful. The rooms and bathroom were very spacious. Its in a quiet area close to the Camino de Santiago route.

As the hotel is just outside Padron, they advised us that they work with a local restaurant that delivers food for dinner that night. We didnt think the food was that great, and didnt really have an option to venture out. We were doing the Camino de Santiago and had just walked for 22km and wanted some dinner and bed.

A beautiful, old world charm villa, makes for a perfect quiet stay along the Camino. The property is very clean, the rooms spacious and luxurious. They also offer a fantastic dinner which we took advantage of…and the breakfast included was perfect. Our host Melissa was delightful and we enjoyed our conversations (her English is quite good)…Melissa took very good care of us.

Macarena was a delightful host and does an extraordinary job providing for the guests while managing her myriad tasks. She’s very professional, efficient, and knowledgeable , but also warm and welcoming. A rare combination.

Patricia was a true delight! She went out of her way to get you what you needed and the meals she arranged or put together were great. She is a very kind person and made our stay a happy one.

It was great for being close to the Camino to split up the last day, not much else around.

This is a lovely rustic property that has been renovated to a high standard. The staff of the hotel were very friendly and helpful.

The property is very close to the main road, so a lot of traffic noise.

Old beautiful house, located on the Camino. Very clean and well equiped, checked in easily.

We also booked dinner, umfortunately it is not taken in the house but 10 km away, in a restaurant. This information was not mentioned when I booked online. If I had known this, I wouldn’t have booked dinner. Instead I would have taken breakfast. Food was not great. The lady who takes care of the house does not speak english. A bit too expensive though.
