Hotel Scala

Really nice accommodation with a breakfast buffet to suit all preferences. Additionally, they have food options available at the bar/lounge and outdoors during other times, so you always have access without leaving the property. Again, the breakfast buffet was really nice.

The location is just outside of town, but it was a nice walk for me. I enjoyed staying here so much that even after arriving in Santiago to complete my camino, I stayed at the hotel, rather than deal with the crowds in Santiago. It was a 15 minute train ride to and from Padrón. Great hotel and great staff.

Nice, charming, older hotel with great pool area and spacious grounds. Room was above average in size, but not huge or particularly modern, but everything worked well and was clean. Breakfast was the standard European fare of bread, cheese, yogurt, coffee, self-serve. Looked right on the Camino.

Worst wait staff in the restaurant for dinner that I have experienced in years. Both the waitress and her supervisor (the man who "greeted" us). Surly, arrogant, beyond slow; didn't even try to hide their disdain for us, although not clear why. If I were manager of this hotel, I would fire them immediately, but apparently management neither notices or cares.

Wi-fi worked well. Liked that it was on our Camino route, but away from town center. Would have liked overhead shower as option to handheld spray. Missed not having an egg available for breakfast. Enjoyed the artisan bread and sweets, though

Overhead shower needed. Too easy to hear others in hall. Had to turn off lights to check whether door was locked with key. As exit safety measure, guest should be able to open locked door from inside the room without key!

Breakfast was great, staff was super attentive, had a problem with the AC and they sorted it out in like 5 minutes, really impressive, property is a little dated but nice, if you are walking the Camino keep in mind this Hotel is way north of the town, hard when you are walking in to Padrone but better the next day if you are going to Santiago, the location also limits food and laundry options a bit

Not really a dislike but the shower was hilarious, they put the shower head in the middle of the tub instead of one of the ends, have not idea why you would do that, sent a picture to my friend

I ended up in this hotel while walking the Camino. Its a bit further from Padrón city center but in the Camino path. Lovely pool. Room was comfy. Breakfast amazing. Nothing I can complain of.

As a side note. Nothing to do with the hotel but I think the information is important. Apparently there are no taxis in town and they refuse to drive you here because its a cheap ride when you find any. I was lucky enough I got a free lift. Otherwise the best option is to stay in the hotel at night otherwise you may end up walking by the road in the dark.

Hotel Scala is right on the Camino route and was my last night before Santiago so it was very convenient. Also just north of Padron (where most of the other pilgrims stayed) so it was nice to start a little ahead. Good breakfast. The reason why I picked Hotel Scala was because of the pool. After walking the Camino, my face and arms were nicely tanned but not rest of the body, so took the opportunity to tan rest of the boy. So yes, I can recommend Hotel Scala especially if you want a pool the day before finishing at Santiago!

The staff was pleasant and efficient but didn't quite seem friendly (?). Obviously a sunburnt foreigner, with a backpack, asked for the Camino stamp etc. and not one "Bon or Buen Camino" from interacting with 3 front desk at various times, other cafeteria and cafe personnel etc. It would have been nice to get a little greeting. (It may just be me though. I did not take points away from staff because of this)

Great location on the Camino route that gives you a head start for the last day's walk into Santiago de Compostela. The room was comfortable and it was awesome to have a soak in a hot bath. The Pilgrims Menu was terrific value for €15, which included 3 courses, wine and coffee. The buffet breakfast was also excellent.

It is a very busy hotel and the walls are a bit thin, I could hear the man in the next room coughing.

Staff are friendly and helpful There is a bus that takes you back in Padron. Follow the Camino walk out of Padron it takes you right past the hotel it is about 5km outside Padron. We arrived mid afternoon and took a taxi back into town cost 7 euro. Taking a taxi back was only 5. Taxi did not use meter so its better to negative a price beforehand.

We tried to take a bus but the busstop outside the hotel is not clearly signed. It was rather busy in the carpark so we missed the bus. Would be helpful to have a leaflet with info about going back into Padron.

Convenient location along the Camino, but limited dinner options. Breakfast was good with several choices. My room was comfortable with a pleasant view.

If either of the two restaurants nearby are not open then the hotel cafeteria is the only option..unless you walk back to Padrón (2km). 50€ price might be high for many pilgrims, but includes breakfast and privacy.

clean rooms, spacious. I was traveling with a sister and the room was convenient so that we were not in the other’s way. plenty of variety with breakfast. dinner at their restaurant was good abd not very expensive.
