Hotel Rural Molino del Puente Ronda

Really lovely owners, welcoming and very hospitable. The property is in a rural location about 6km from Ronda, with very limited public transport, and I didn't have a car. Elaine and Ian gave me lifts to local areas, offered to collect me, helped me find a hiking guide and made me feel very much at home. The food in the restaurant was wonderful, creative and plentiful, the breakfast excellent. The property itself is charming and sympathetically restored. The Love family do a great job looking after their guests, I can't thank them enough for the care and comfort I received.

The hosts make this place. Elaine is friendly and Ian is a great cook. The pool was very enjoyable. If you want to eat, drink and lounge around the pool, this is the place. For breakfast, they will cook eggs to your liking. As we left early, they made us a picnic breakfast. Our room had a wood burning heater so would be great in winter.

The eggs for breakfast were great but the rest of the breakfast was limited, including old apples and cellophane wrapped muffins. For the picnic breakfast, we requested no ham for one serve but got it anyway. It should be noted this property is not in Ronda so a car is required.

For those travelling through Andaluzia by car, Hotel Rural Molino del Puente is the real deal. Close enough to reach Ronda within minutes, while avoiding staying at Ronda's crowded historical center and expensive parking system (which I did in the past). Here, what you see is what you get, a cosy and friendly place, that you will like to stay longer, guaranteed. The price-cost is fair, and you will surely receive a warm reception. I have travelled all around the world for the past 10 years and there were only a couple of times where I had dinner at a Hotel. After reading the comments of other travellers, I decided to have dinner at Molino del Puente. The dinner is prepared by the owners, grilled right in front of you. I can only tell you that it was so amazing that we repeated on the very next day. Moline del Puente is genuine, I even enjoyed the train line nearby and the bees.

Lovely building, a former mill and olive press, renovated with great charm. Excellent dinner menu, no need to go out hunting for a restaurant in the evening after a day out. Tranquil pool area and pool big enough for a decent swim. Great location as a base for exploring the surrounding area, especially the lovely Pueblos Blancos. Outstanding friendly service by staff and the owners, Elaine and Ian.

Onsite restaurant was marvelous, some of the best food we’ve had in Spain, at very fair prices. Hostess (Elaine) was amazing - gracious, kind and helpful.

We wanted a relaxed property with free parking, which it was, however, our gps took us on a circuitous route (which was totally unnecessary) in finding the hotel initially. Actually a nice base for exploring Ronda and the Blanca villages. Bedding decor could be improved (remove hairy pillows they give a bad first impression).

A great location just outside Ronda. We were made to feel welcome and shown to our room. Everything we needed was in the comfortable room, and the lovely bed ensured we slept well. Breakfast was included and very generous. We ate at the on site restaurant and all the food was delicious, as well as reasonably priced. Great little pool and plenty of sun loungers. We were also given tips on parking and eating in Ronda.

Nothing.

We enjoyed the relaxed, friendly atmosphere that ran throughout the hotel. ALL the staff went out of their way to make our stay perfect. The room was clean with beautiful soft bed linens, very comfortable bed. We had room three, so also enjoyed the large terrace that overlooks the river. Ian is an amazing chef and prepares many delicious meals. Each course perfectly cooked from starters to desserts. Special thanks for my husband's birthday meal, fillet steak, asparagus with hollandaise sauce. (Not part of the menu but we specially requested it). Plenty of parking on the hotel grounds. Beautiful pool area with lots of loungers. We were so pleased to find this Gem of a hotel, highly recommend. We will definitely be returning.

There was nothing we disliked.

Great small retreat away from the hustle and bustle. Very pleasant hosts, nice small pool, clean and spacious room and good breakfast. Very convenient parking in front of the property.

Of course being where it is even though quiet means that you need a car to get around every day. If you have one no problem but likely will need to pay parking in Ronda for example. Doors and windows are not fully soundproof but we had no problems with noise during our stay.

The breakfast was delicious and the dinner (not included in the stay) was excellent. I would recommend eating there to everyone who stays. The staff were super friendly and the pool was clean and fun to hang out in. We choose the hotel for its location which is rural and quiet and though a distance from Ronda (10 minutes) worth the need to drive there. The hotel had charm and character. I was looking for a Spanish Finca experience and this delivered what I wanted.

The room was small and the bed was okay comfortable. There was no refrigerator in the room which I missed.

The food was nice. We had a lovely tomato salad and the barbecue was good. The room was excellent and very comfortable. The aircon worked well. Ian and Elaine made us feel very welcome.

Flies and wasps were a bit of a pain outside but frankly unavoidable at the height of summer and they disappeared once the sun went down. Fresh orange juice for breakfast would have been nice and I would recommend moving check in/check out forward an hour as I noticed that everyone descended for breakfast at the last minute. However it was no big deal.
