Cinnamon Red Colombo

Nice. Size room. Comfortable bed, nice ambience, good pool area, practical location, friendly staff.

Room service food was not great. The Main Street location isn’t optimal

Centrally located with exceptional views from all rooms and the spectacular roof terrace, this is a perfect place to stay for one or multiple nights. The staff are friendly and kind, the rooms are incredibly generous--far better in my opinion than the more expensive Cinnamon properties down the road; and the hotel provides great service from start to finish at an affordable rate. The pool is superb as is the gym and the evening bar with live music.

I had forgotten to request breakfast with my stay so paid for this separately--but still worth it! Otherwise, nothing except bad art in the room--nothing consequential.

This is a comprehensive review of my stay. Generally, I don't stay in a hotel for more than one night if it doesn't meet my expectations. I stayed here for two nights and then an additional night, totaling three times. 1. Upon entering the hotel, the checkpoint staff gave us a warm welcome, and the receptionists were incredibly cool and helpful. 2. Security and privacy were top-notch. 3. The food served was delicious and reasonably priced. 4. The rooftop pool and restaurant were amazing. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to everyone.

1. They require a deposit of $50 or the equivalent in LKR, which was not mentioned on Booking.com. 2. If paying in USD, the refund is provided in LKR. 3. The check-in process takes too long, approximately 15-20 minutes. 4. Tooth kits are not provided, but they are available upon request free of charge. 5. Room sandals are not provided, and they charge 300 LKR for them.

Second time staying in this hotel. We had to make an emergency pit-stop in colombo for one night and immediately went here. Rooms are beautiful, modern, clean. Hotel is great. HOWEVER, reception, check in and check out are the worst I've ever seen (see negatives).

Check in and check out are a disaster. I've witnessed people standing in front of reception desks for upward of 40 min. Staff inefficient. If you go, insist you will carry your own luggage to the room or be prepared to wait 2 hours for a porter to come (they offer the porter, just refuse). Just so sad that this experience impacts the overall impression of an otherwise very nice hotel.

The rooftop pool was great and breakfast was delicious!

One evening we decided to have a dinner buffet at the restaurant. Staff members were watching people like hawks and made us and people at the next table very uncomfortable. Right when you took the last bite, plate was taken away. sometimes they were standing almost right next to you watching you eat… When we picked the dessert the bill came and we were confused because we were not done eating. The guy said that he saw us take the dessert which ment we were done, but when I explained that we wanted to try something more, he said that it was not how it worked there.. It was a really weird experience..

The room was beautiful, modern, and clean. The location was fantastic and the food was very very good. The rooftop pool and bar area were absolutely stunning, both during the day and the night. I especially like the vibe at night when the dj started. It was a chill and fun. Also, the drinks are really strong, and the nighttime bites were delicious. The staff were incredible as well: super kind and welcoming, and knowledgeable. The service felt like 5 star luxury. I had to get some laundry done, and the process was easy and quick, and delivered exactly as promised. The breakfast and dinner buffet were also really good.

Cinnamon Red Colombo has the most stunning view from their roof deck pool & bar as well as from inside the room where we stayed for 4-nights/5-days which was on the 25th floor room 2502 the best corner room with panoramic view of the Colombo City overlooking the Indian Ocean. Breakfast spread was superb and waiters at the restaurant are very attentive & courteous, special thanks to Upeksha & Gayani for their excellent service. Staff are very helpful & friendly. We truly enjoyed our stay at Cinnamon Red Colombo & we will definitely stay there again hoping to be in the same room :-)

Checking-in was a bit slow they took time to process plus we didn't get welcome drinks like other hotels.

The air con was very noisy, when you shut it off could still hear the unit in the neighbor room. Every time visiting the restaurant we got a card with a QR code and the waiters name (added with pen) and a ask to give a good review. This is too much, I do this review, can't expect more than that. Please stop annoying customers and taking additional time

I loved my stay so much! I booked for the amenities and they definitely didn’t disappoint! I loved the breakfast buffet it’s worth it to add it to your room rate because they have so many types of breakfast foods. The rooftop pool was the stand out for me, a stunning view of Colombo and a pleasure to cool off from the heat in the cool pool. You can watch the sunset right from your room (if you’re facing the sea) or from the rooftop pool. The gym was also pleasantly well equipped so I had a good workout. The king sea view room is so nice, very clean and a great size with a comfortable huge bed, soft sheets and pillows. The room is stylishly designed with red accents. I used room service a lot and the food was great except for the Caesar salad which was just plain lettuce which was disappointing. The staff are friendly, respectful and helpful. The location is good, but you’ll find it hard to want to leave this oasis of a hotel in the middle of busy Colombo. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

The air/con in my room was working fine the first day but the second day the room was humid and a bit warm even if I changed the temperature on the remote. So I had a bit of a hot sleep one night due to that.
