Hotel J, Unawatuna

its a budget hotel but has all the amenities . The place has a cafe which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, which makdes it super convenient. The staff was extremely helpful , kind and friendly. Really made the stay a great one. The location is incredibly convenient, even as a super market right across the street. The pool is a wonderful addition to this place too.

Nothing to note that I didnt like. Perhaps a bit of maintainence on the water damage but that would be the only extent of it.

Rooms were spacious and clean with a balcony, desk & chair, TV with local channels, air con and a ceiling fan. Staff are lovely, friendly and helpful, pool was great. Towels for the pool are also available (and although there is a space for them they're rarely at the side of the pool, so you need to go ask for them too!).

Although housekeeping is available, and I believe there is supposed to be a card to put on the door, we never had one and despite mentioning this on several occasions we were never given one and had to consistently ask for housekeeping, fresh towels etc. Service can be a little slow, one morning I waited 40 minutes and no-one took my breakfast order so I had to go in and ask for that too, service is a hit and a miss, sometimes people are buzzing round you and other times they don't come near!

This made it incredibly easy for me to purchase daily essentials without any hassle. One of the standout features of Hotel J is the ample parking space available. As someone who traveled by car, this was a huge advantage for me, as I didn't have to worry about finding a parking spot or the safety of my vehicle. The hotel also boasts a restaurant that offers a diverse menu. I particularly enjoyed the option to order from the à la carte menu, and what impressed me even more was the reasonable pricing, considering the current inflationary circumstances. It was refreshing to see a hotel that values its guests' satisfaction without overcharging. Furthermore, the staff at Hotel J was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. They were always ready to assist me with any queries or requests I had, which made me feel genuinely welcome and taken care of. Their warm hospitality added an extra layer of comfort to my overall experience. Speaking of comfort, the room I stayed in was spacious enough and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. The hot water, air conditioning, and television were all in perfect working condition, ensuring a pleasant and convenient stay. It's always a relief when you find a hotel that pays attention to these details and ensures that everything is in order. In conclusion, I am thoroughly satisfied with my stay at Hotel J in Unawatuna. The prime location, the availability of daily essentials nearby, ample parking space, reasonable prices, friendly staff, and well-maintained rooms all contributed to a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend Hotel J to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Unawatuna.

Can use public transport. Very close to beach 10 min walk only. Their staff also really helpful. Pool is amazing. very clean hotel. In that area comparing with other hotels this is the best hotel for your budget.

You guys need to keep water bottles in the room.we had to drink tap water. we needed some hot water but there isn't kettle in our room. other thing is there isn't any place for partying for in house guest. when we ask from the front office they said that we need to partying in our rooms. its really inconvenience. There is a restaurant but we cant take our own bottles we had buy from them.

Everything was soo good. First i was worried about reviews. But trust me, this place is so clean. Basically there is nothing to mention anything negative. Room size is average. and its more than enough. Beds are comfy. Views and colors are nice. Good shower with sampoo and shower jel. Good restaurant with alacrate menu. Small pool, But still clean and nice. Good location. I like pretty much everything.

Friendly staff, nice A/C room and a comfortable bed. The pool area is a nice place to chill out by. The room and bathroom was very clean and tidy with a decent lockable cabinet to put your backpack/belongings.

The location of the property is quite far away from the beaches - Unawatuna Beach & Jungle Beach so just be aware that unless you don't mind walking in the heat, then you'll need to take a tuk tuk. Only a small suggestion - it would be good to have a shower mat in the bathrooms, the person I was sharing the dorm with got water all over the bathroom & bedroom which was pretty annoying.

There's nothing to complaint

Even though I stayed in a dorm, it felt like a hotel room! Nice big pillows and good A/C, comfortable beds and nice bathroom. Extended my stay with a few nights because I was so impressed!

They didn’t come in at any day to sweep the floors or empty the trash. Lucky I was staying alone in the dorm so it didn’t get dirty, but I can imagine if the dorm would be full.

The double beds are very comfortable. I had a balcony that overlooked the swimming pool. The breakfasts are nice. The swimming pool was clean. The showers worked well.

The location was okay but a bit of a walk or a tuktuk ridento most places. One morning the music in the restaurant was very loud and woke me up at 6:30am.

I love the hotel! It was one of the best hotel I stayed in Unawatuna. Amazing and lovely stuff, cosy atmosphere, great service. The swimming pool was such great idea in hit days and warm evenings. For Nomads - strong wifi in every room ☺️💛💛
