Hotel Villan

The room was big enough and nice. The location is super. We had access to bus and ferry for getting to city center. The area is so beautiful and lovely. The breakfast was nice.

The hotel is quite old. The reception is in the second floor and when we got there, one of the door was closed. We were so confused how should we get in. I wish we would receive some kind of guide beforehand. I'm not sure if the hotel is 4star. because it doesn't have the facilities of a 4star hotel definately. We were in Gothenburg for Coldplay concert so all of the accomidatiin were expensive. I've reserved this one from a year ago and I was disappointed about the value of money.

This hotel is better than its rating! As other reviewers noted, I also wouldn't consider this a 4-star hotel. More a 3-star. And yes, the rooms are slightly worn. But nothing that bothered me. But there are many pluses, too: Location is very good, right next to the ferry. Hotel exterior and interior are charming. Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly. Overall, a good value for money for me. I would stay here again.

As some other reviewers note, the rooms are *slightly* worn. Also, maybe this is just me, but in a hotel I expect a reception that is staffed for more than a few hours in the morning (for check-out) and early evening (for check-in). But this seems to be normal in Sweden in smaller hotels.

We had an excellent stay as a staycation, on the opposite side of the river. The twin suite has a bathtub which was a really nice surprise and was used right away to cool down in the heatwave. Friendly staff, small but good enough breakfast, ice machine in the lobby. The suite is quite large with a sofa, armchair, a desk, and TV. It’s got this loungy feel, and we thoroughly enjoyed being in a mini-apartment. We also combined our stay by eating in the restaurant Sjöporten which is located in the same building, with a terrace overlooking the river. We will most definitely come back, especially for that suite!

The lack of fans and/or AC turned the room into an oven, and and open window couldn’t cool the room down due to there weren’t any airstream. If it’s not possible to install an AC, then fans would be preferable.

Hard to get into the hotel when we arrived, also met several other people who were stuck outside that we let in. So you need to make this easier for people.

Wonderful location directly at the harbour. Ferry connection to the city. When you buy a 24h ticket for public transport, make sure you buy it in the app. So the kids will travel for free... Good public parking for just 50 👑 a day...

No real receiption

While it is a little out of the city center, it is very easy to get into town. The surrounding is quiet. It's our second stay, and it hasn't disappoint. The value is great, with cheap parking... Like the simple breakfast. Enough to fuel us up!

Nothing! All is good and it met our needs for an overnight stay. Only thing to comment on, it doesn't have a bedside lamp, so you will need to get up to turn on/off the lights. If that can be upgraded a little, it will be great.

Breakfast was very very good! I was surprised. Of course the views are great.

The location was great! It was clean and organized! Bathroom included shampoo and bodyshower that was quite good! I would stay there again!

We arrived one day at 1 in the morning and some young adults were trying to get in, to a “party” that was happening in one of the rooms. That was not so good.

It will be nice to have a mini fridge in the bedrooms, and also charging station next to beds .. I have stayed at cheaper hotels with more extra amenities in the bedrooms

Nice location in the harbour, very romantic. The breakfast was good especially the waffle-making machine.

A lot of things need to be updated (like small stuff in the bathroom), not that it's very important. The blankets are too thin for my standard and the room was too cold, but it was perfect temperature for my boyfriend.
