Gran Melia Arusha

Apart from large and comfortable rooms, Melia Arusha has one of the best private Lahr scale pool and a garden where they grow tea and coffee not only for show but for hotel’s consumption too. Greenery everywhere even on the top of every flat roof, to be enjoyed from the higher floors balconies. If you are planning to visit Tanzania, then I highly recommend Melia In Arusha, Zanzibar and in serengeti if you are planing your Safari trip there, and I assure you Caesar, the friendly General Manager will make sure you are welcomed....

Nothing serious all good, except if you stay at the end of the corridor (right side if you are facing the hotel), here all cooling and boilers are located and these machines are noisy if you open the windows. This is the architect lack of knowledge in designing!

We loved the staff, as well as the overall style of the property. Our room was beautiful, with an amazing view of Mount Meru. We also thought the Red Level lounge area was a really nice addition to the experience. Prior to our arrival the communication with the hotel was also terrific.

We were not all that impressed with food. We had dinner at The Rooftop and The Grill and didn’t find either to be amazing. The Grill didn’t have my first choice (pork belly) or my second choice (lamb shank), so I ended up ordering the beef ribs and thought they were too small for the price and just ok tasting. The Rooftop items that we had were actually pretty good, but we were disappointed there wasn’t more locally inspired food on either menu. Also, we arrived at the breakfast buffet at 0930 and it was clear that most of the items had been sitting there much longer than is ideal, with some items being quite cold and others being quite dry or overdone. We also thought the bed was very hard which didn’t suit our personal taste, but we acknowledge that some will really like it.

Everything about this hotel was amazing. I would go so far as to say it is the most beautiful hotel we have every stayed in. The grounds are just phenomenal. They have their own coffee and tea plantations and the flowers, trees, pool, waterfall and outdoor space in general is just stunning! The views from the rooftop restaurant of mount Meru and surrounding Arusha are also breathtaking. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the room was very clean with a stunning view and was fully equipped with all you need. There were multiple restaurants and bars on site for those that are staying for longer periods of time.

I loved the decor and facilities at this property! I especially lover that they are environmentally conscious and their choices of products and change of towel/bed linen schedule reflects that. The staff were really helpful and friendly. We were 1.5 hours late to a couples massage due to a flight delay but the hotel still accommodated us even though the spa had since closed. The food was so delicious, especially the octopus and steak. I’d definitely recommend staying here!

ALL STAFF FROM MANAGEMENT, RECEPTIONISTS, RESTAURANTS, SPA, SOLDIERS, CLEANERS AND OTHERS SERVICES WAS KINDS, PROFESSIONNELS AND AMAZING WONDERFUL PEOPLE..... The ENVIRONNEMENT IS QUITE, NATUREL AND AMAZING.... THE ROOMS HAVE INTERNATIONAL STANDARD AND VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY CLEAN..... GRAN MELIA HOTEL ARUSHA HAVE ALMOST ALL KINDLES OF INTERNATIONAL STANDARD AND HAVE MÉRITE TO BE CALLING FIVE STARS HOTEL.... WHEN YOU PASS ARUSHA, I RECOMMEND YOU THIS HOTEL, YOU NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED, BUT YOU WILL HAVE FULL SATISFACTION ...... L' HOTEL EST MERVEILLEUX

The ambience and design of the facility with the wholistic point of view of having inclusivity to give back to the community and also taking care of the environment through recycling

The staff are a bit slow and disturbing to know that certain services are confirmed but they continuously come back to confirm and reconfirm. Very inconveniencing to the guests.

Breakfast and dinners were wonderful. Massage amazing. Beautiful room and facilities. Staff very helpful and I think Mussa? gave me a tour of the amazing vegetable/herb gardens/coffee plantation on site. Truly wonderful to see everything growing in your backyard.

This is the best hotel in Arusha. Amazing facilities, mesmerising gardens/infinity pool, great rooms! Everything was spotless, modern and stylish. The staff are also up to the same level! The breakfast is fabulous with loads of choice! The rooftop restaurant/bar worths a visit for sunset with superb views of Mount Meru.

‏The hotel is very beautiful and well maintained I recommend going for a walk in the gardens of the hotel, the gym is excellent and has a lot of types of equipment. The spa is perfect I did a massage 3 times and was very good. Recommends asking for a masseuse named Happy. The double room in the spa is more beautiful than the single rooms. Beautiful location of breakfast and excellent service I would have been happy if there were more vegetarian options and more options for people who maintain a healthy lifestyle. The rooftop dinner with a good atmosphere and my friends who ate meat dishes said they had very tasty meal l much liked the vegetarian food there are not too many options for variety and after 13 days at the hotel I bord to eat the same thing every day but the service in the dining room and restaurant on the roof is excellent. Very nice people. The room service was excellent and the girls who cleaned my room were lovely. One thing that bothered me about the cleanliness of the room is that they do not change glasses but the cleaner washes them in the sink without soap and puts the glasses back in place and wipes the same rag in all the rooms which is not right to do because of the COVID-19 From that day When I found out, I started drinking water directly from a bottle. The stuff at the reception are some excellent some less so there is a nice guy at the reception who is always happy to help. This is an opportunity to say thanks to the Room Service team for the service and thank you to your tech man named anoar who helped me several times in the room to connect the computer to the TV because I have iPhone and not android. It is better to bring your laptop. Recommends taking a room with a mountain view and not saving. I was in room 520 and it was perfect with a stunning view even though you are lying in bed. Staff were attentive and spa services, especially happiness, were excellent. I went to her twice. Oversized pool which was refreshing and nice rooftop bar/restaurant.

I did red level, but service spotty, no welcome drink and didn't get 10% off spa services. I would say to pass.
