Hub Of Joys Hostel

Lovely family feel. The staff were great and the woman on the front desk was very friendly and super helpful, giving us tips and all the information we needed. Just little things like the breakfast, helping with transfers and even offering free beach mats was so appreciated. Would recommend! :)

Only one shower per floor but could just use others that were free. The door was also kind of annoying to open and close but really not much to complain about

The staff were very nice and helpful, the beds were nice and wide with curtains for privacy, and there was always drinking water available, I stayed for a couple of weeks and they offered to change my sheets and give me a new towel every week, the food was reasonably priced and very tasty, there are lockers for your things, however they are small and in the lobby. When I left they organized a van for me to get to my next destination and even gave me some small goodbye gifts!

the mattresses are hard and the pillows are worn out, there is only one shower per floor, and it often smells, the sink drains are visibly very dirty, the airconditioning in the room is off between 10 - 4pm and the airconditioning in the public spaces is only on between 10- 4pm so it can get very hot in these places outside of those hours, the airconditioning does work decently well though.

The location was near to "long beach" so easy to access the sea. The hostel was always active with people hanging out, coming and going...so it is super easy to meet fellow travelers :) The curtains on the beds were REALLY great and gave a true sense of privacy. Moreover, the beds themselves, were quite big and totally comfy. Wifi was always fast and stable (we were streaming series). My personal favorite thing was the food served by the hostel. Breakfast is, as other comments mentioned, great! Fresh eggs and fruit. But you can also order food until 9pm, and not only was it a GREAT price, it was very tasty (the green curry chicken and rice...had it like 4 times). No mosquito bites in our 3 days at Hub of Joys!!

This hostel exceeded expectations! It was one of the best hostels I ever stayed at. The room was decently sized, the beds were comfortable (although the mattresses were rather hard, but I think that is a common thing in Thailand from my experience) and you had a (small) locker outside the room to keep your valuables. The hostel has a very cozy and familiar vibe and I felt super safe during my stay. The staff is so nice and attentive and they were very helpful all throughout my stay. They suggested and booked amazing activities and recommended some really good restaurants. Overall, it was an amazing time! I highly recommend :)

The lockers could be a bigger to leave our bags safely stored during the day, but since I felt so comfortable I would just leave them in the room and it was fine!

It's super easy to meet a lot of people here! The breakfast is great, and they have good dinner options as well! The dorms are clean, the beds have curtains, and you can rent a motorbike here.

I arrived with a bad cold and not feeling great, but I got even more sick (pneumonia) during my stay. I had a fever, was coughing my lungs out, and had a very bad cold. I booked a private room somewhere else because of that, but I wasn't allowed to stay one more hour in my dorm until I was picked up by the taxi. I understand that my bed needs to be cleaned, but I was obviously doing very bad, and she didn't really seem to care

Facilities were clean especially the dorms. There was a great social aspect to the hostel as it always seemed to be people around the social area especially during the free breakfast! (Breakfast was great also). Free coffee, tea, popcorn and cakes all day long was a lovely touch and the snacks/ drinks available were extremely cheap even for a hostel. The lady on the front desk was incredibly helpful in arranging scooter rentals, tours and travel to our next destination for a price much cheaper than any tour office nearby. Also the location of the hostel is great just a 3 minute walk to long beach and plenty of restaurants and bars in walking distance!

Only downside is the slight lack of toilet/ showers when the hostel was busy but it wasn’t ever too much of an issue just a small wait sometimes!

The location was good - Phrae Ae beach is nicer than long beach (in my opinion). The breakfast and free popcorn was also a welcome addition!

The mattresses were really hard and made my hips hurt and I didn’t like the fact the air con went off between 10am and 4pm. This is the hottest point in the day and there was no where to cool down. This made me feel uncomfortable and not being able to get any respite. A better time to turn off the air con would be between 6am - 12pm when the rooms are cool and peoples body temperatures are lower from sleeping etc.

Highly recommend! Would stay here again. Hostel has great vibe with people socializing at breakfast and in the evening with drinks, but thankfully not a party hostel. We had good nights of sleep. Staff is wonderful, very friendly and helpful. One of the best staff we have encountered. Location is good, it is on the road but restaurants, shop and the beach are super close. The noise of the road did not bother us in the rooms. Breakfast is amazing! It’s clean. Rooms have nice AC and beds have privacy curtains. Lockers for small belongings.

Facilities look a bit more outdated than on the pictures but are still great.

Toilette's, sink and showers are separated from each other, which makes it best for morning use. Breakfast is with lots of variety and it filled you up. Bicycle for free at your disposal

Not much hooks in the shower, which makes it more complicated to hang your stuff on. Same same but different in the toilette's rooms, a few hooks for clothes and towels at the door, would make life easier :) same applies for the washing basin. Just 2 hooks, isn't enough for the whole floor

Staff are very lovely here, they have free breakfast which is so good, you can book transport, tours, taxis etc at the desk, AC was good, overall very clean and friendly, good bedroom door security/keycard system! They have water tanks, they do lunch/dinner which was really yummy

Only a small locker for valuables, which is downstairs, wouldn't fit my laptop in it! It is very hot in the day in the room when the AC goes off, as there is no fan Location is OK but you definitely need to rent a bike otherwise taxis will have you out a fortune
