Penmere Manor Hotel

Penmere Manor is a hotel with a difference; some would call it dated, which is probably why it has only been graded with three stars, which it doesn’t deserve, but for us it was traditional with a nostalgic feel about it which is the beauty of Penmere Manor; it has original features and hasn’t been spoilt by modernisation, which truly would spoil the feel of this hotel. We loved it. It is in a very quiet location which makes it very relaxing and peaceful,. The property has beautiful grounds and the staff were very friendly and welcoming when you arrived for breakfast. All staff were accommodating. Full English Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. We also had a meal in the hotel restaurant, which again was delicious. Finally our room was lovely with both shower and bath, two big comfy chairs, tv and two large windows overlooking the beautiful grounds and if privacy is something you enjoy then this is the place to be.

There was nothing we didn’t like. To make changes to this hotel would spoil it. So whilst some would say it could do with modernising we would disagree.

Everything the staff the hotel and facilities were all great. Perfect location we are a party of three and the second single bed was a proper bed not an awful camp bed. The staff were all attentive and friendly not to mention hard working. The gym/pool was a great addition to this stay. Some may say that the decor is dated. I would say it’s in keeping with the building and added to the charm of the hotel. If we need a short stay in Falmouth again we will be booking again. Cant recall how much 2 nights for 3 people was which is indicative of the fact I thought it was good value.

The room was perfect for us. Plenty of light and spacious. The breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice plus a good selection of cooked breakfasts. The leisure facilities were all good . The jacuzzi was my favourite. The lounge and bar were very relaxing. We ate in the restaurant which was of a high quality.

It was quite difficult to find and the entry road could do with a resurface. The location was okay as Falmouth is a big resort and it was near enough to get to by car or taxi, quite a walk to town or to a beach. Also this hotel does not have a lift.

The rooms were huge.Very spacious.Car parking was easy and close by.The breakfast was plentiful and cooked nicely with lots of choice.The pool ,jacuzzi and gym were a nice extra.An easy walk to Penmere Station too.Shop a few yards down the road.Bathroom was spacious.Dinner menu was ok and food nice enough (Sea bass).I would return.

Staff weren't particularly chatty apart from reception ladies.A few smiles would help.Bar wasn't staffed a lot of the time.A swarm of ladybirds had to be removed from the window frame on arrival and a resident spider in the corner of the room.Given the size of the room the TV was very small and hard to read from the bed.Bed wasn't particularly comfy

We got the large room with a double bed and a single bed. It was very big. Lovely big bathroom, two wardrobes. Staff were very understanding about my disability. There's no lift so they swapped me into a downstairs room so I didn't have to struggle up stairs with bags etc. Staff were really helpful with everything. Room was nice and clean. Hotel grounds are lovely and quiet. Breakfast was very good. You will see comments about the decoration being a bit old fashioned and out dated, it is but that's what gives this lovely hotel character. It's kept some of the Georgian theme/feel to it. The hotel is very clean though

TV in room was too small because it was a large room. Bigger TV needed. Kettle was very old with lime scale in it. Sink taps were very loud, most likely due to old plumbing.

we read on the reviews that the rooms were very small, so we paid extra for a superior room. It was HUGE! The bed was also enormous and very comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful, for example they suggested I use the conference room for a zoom meeting as the wifi in our room was not too good (we were at the furthest point from the reception. We didn't want a full meal at dinner, so we had a starter and cheese and biscuits in the bar. All no problem at all.

the furnishings in the room were rather tired, and the room itself had a slightly damp, unused feel. This did improve after we opened the door onto our own little terrace. It was a 30 minute walk into town, quite steep hills both ways. We didn't use the pool, partly because we were asked to change in our rooms to spare space in the changing rooms, but the hotel didn't provide gowns.

Our family of four had an amazing time at this hotel. We had so much space in our room with our own little patio and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Our four year old loved the bunk bed. The gardens were beautiful and the pool was fantastic. Staff so friendly and helpful. The beaches are stunning. quite a walk away with two small children but really quick in the car. We are already thinking about when we can come back!

Really not much to complain about! Very minor things would be that I only got one egg with my veggie breakfast and it was undercooked. Mushrooms were shrivelled and dry. And toaster was on too high so the toast was slightly burned. It was still a lovely breakfast spread with good options for the kids.

Loved place , very good place for value. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in time 3 pm and check out time 10 am latest 10:30 am that gives plenty time to prepare for leaving. that Pool was opened from 7 am till 9 pm that was lovely and my son loved it so much. I loved jacuzzi and sauna. 10'points for food. Definitely will be coming back. Loved it. Great place to come with family , single parents. Plenty activity with kids who love swimming.

Room was small but can't moan as it was very good for price.stayed for a night. Shower top rail that holds shower curtain was very rusty so would suggest to change it , but other then that it was awesome. TV was playing up , saying that connection was very poor and TV was not working and then would start working again. WiFi wasn't working in that room. Room number 15. Xx anyway loved it in general just couple updates probably would be good. Xx

We had a great stay at the weekend, and decided to eat in the hotel restaurant Saturday night, the food was excellent good choice, staff very attentive, excellent service, it was just what we needed after a drive down to Cornwall, we had a lovely relaxing meal and evening, a good night's sleep, and lovely swim in the morning before breakfast, breakfast excellent service very good again in the morning, serving staff excellent.

Nothing all went really well, and we had an excellent weekend, and we will be back.

The staff were very friendly and helpfull They worked hard to ensure that you were very well looked after and made the stay very enjoyable. could not fault them.

Facilities outside ie seating/loungers could be better. No food or drink available in the daytime between breakfast finishing and the bar opening early evening. However I make this comment as a constructive comment rather than a criticism
