The White House Hotel

Staff were great. Outdoor facilities excellent. Really nice veggie chili.

Bedroom was a bit small but great all the same.

Great location. Close to in law’s but great as a base for Shrewsbury and Shropshire. Room modern and clean.

The bar needed an update. All pleather seats worn away. Looked tatty. A bar staff member sat chatting to the chef? While others ran around doing all the work. One of the older bar staff had an altercation with him and offensive language was used in front of us.

We checked in just before 7pm, an hour earlier than we expected and an hour and a half before our dinner booking. After settling in, the staff were absolutely lovely in allowing us to order an hour early. As for the food, IT WAS GLORIOUS and I had to undo my buttons, I ate so much... The room was basic, but just what we needed and the beds were crisp, fresh and incredibly comfortable. In the morning, a freshly ordered and cooked breakfast was with us within five minutes of sitting down and again, it was cooked to perfection. All in all, it was easy to find, the location was just outside of the town. The staff were lovely and helpful. The room was clean, with VERY comfortable beds and last but not least, the food honestly was fantastic. I would absolutely recommend this lovely old pub hotel/restaurant to anyone and I will most certainly be staying there again. TOP MARKS

Nothing whatsoever! We were extremely pleased with every aspect of our choice.

Staff were all really lovely. I had poached eggs on toast then croissant for breakfast with tea - tasty and hot. Comfy single bed, Tea and coffee facilities - had everything I needed. Nice soft towels.

Shower screen swings freely on side of bath resulting in a puddle to wipe up. Not a biggy because towels were provided so just used the floor towel to wipe it up. I struggled to find the location but I'm guessing that was down to google maps and a road closure because leaving the next day I had no such issues.

All the arrangements went well.

When we got back to the hotel at about 00.30 the front door was locked and although the bell was rung no one came. We were getting a bit worried but I could see a light on downstairs and I banged on a window to the left and saw someone cleaning in the bar. Also the poached eggs were a dissapointment, they were hard, so very dry. The rest of the breakfast was very nice, my husbands full English looked very good.

Rooms were really well equipped and comfortable, nice touch having biscuits Morning receptionists were in place and on the ball

The wait to check in whilst the receptionist was 'having a fag' according to the bar staff That there was lots of noise from the young people smoking outside the bar and using foul language Lack of choice and knowledge for certain drinks ie whiskey

The food is always lovely when we stay at the White House Hotel. We always stay here when we attend Wales Comic Con. We always look forward to the delicious evening meal and breakfast we're going to have and the staff are always incredibly helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them! The rooms and bathrooms are always very clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend to others!

The pull-out bed was a little hard however everything else was lovely!

The staff were great. The room was lovely - very quiet and exceptionally clean. There was a very nice bar where we got chatting to a few locals - and a dog!

Thus is nit picking but we could have done with glass in the bathroom to use for rinsing teeth after brushing. In the very nice restaurant the white wine wasn't that cold and it was just left for us to open the bottle ourselves

Friendly staff. The young guy with glasses on the bar was great, as always and even remember us from our last stay in the summer.

The manager on the bar was outright rude to his staff! We came in with our dog, we were served our drinks by the friendly bartender who said he would come and say hello to our dog in a moment. His boss proceeded to 'pull him away' but not out of reach of the customers hearing to basically tell him he doesn't get paid to do that and he has other stuff to do ( there were myself, my partner and two others the bar area! Hardly overrun!) He turned a lovely welcome to the white House hotel inyo a rather sour experience unfortunately!
