AC Hotel by Marriott Durham0

The AC Marriott in Durham is a very stylish, new hotel. All the spaces are very beautifully decorated in contemporary style. The room was very smartly designed and equally stylish. The bathroom was terrific, with a very large counter space - rare for any hotel. We really enjoyed the hotel. Great location, convenient to the university and with some good dining options nearby.

The only downside was the approach - there was inadequate signage to indicate where to park for check-in, so we parked in the lower level of the parking garage, and then couldn't find our way up to the lobby without a room key yet. But this was a minor issue.

This was so convenient to Duke U. Hospital. Also the eating choices within feet of the hotel were outstanding! The hotel was beautiful, beds comfortable and pillows plentiful. Very nice how many USB ports and outlets there were, conveniently placed in the room. LVL flooring was nice rather than carpet that harbors a lot of bacteria even when vacuumed.

I did not like the huge glass door entering the bathroom. It was extremely heavy and cumbersome. There’s no way an older person or someone with arthritis or mobility issues could handle it. Also, the sliding glass door in the shower made a horrendous noise when opened.

Breakfast pretty good, better than a typical chain breakfast because there was fresh bacon, eggs, and waffles along with a meat and cheese platter, cereal, coffee machine, 4 kinds of fruit juice.

Oatmeal in packets, not many other pastry options that I remember, tea was kinda weak. Entrance and parking garage are challenging to reach for large vehicles because of narrow access road, parking spaces. Spin cycle on the industrial laundry was audible my room sometimes.

The room was very comfortable, stylish and perfectly cleaned. It has also a large screen with possibility to access Netflix and other similar services.

Breakfast included an excellent coffee machine with several espresso options. However, there were no fresh pancakes or waffles and the choice of fruit was limited. I had a package that included breakfast, but the staff did not clearly realize it and I had some problems with my bill, that have been eventually resolved. The first day the cleaning personnel forgot to clean my room.

Impeccable maintenance and cleanliness. Nice hotel for double travellers or business travellers with an indoor beautiful dining area and bar! Quiet and calm as it is located in a tucked-away corner of a street. If your business travelling is related to Duke University, this is an EXCELLENT location. Less than 2.5mi from downtown. Right outside the hotel is a strip of stores and food places. Convenient and practical.

Not in the city center, but that was not a bad thing.

it was clean, modern and the location was great. room was and excellent size with easy parking and the check in process was a breeze

Housekeeping knocked on our door three times in a hour or two starting at 9 am our first day there when we didn’t even get in until almost 3 am. In my opinion that’s a little early. One time they even barged in without us hearing a knock first. They also knocked once on check out day at 9 am which is silly since we’re definitely leaving by a certain time. Do not disturb signs would help but we didn’t see any in our room.

The $15 breakfast was disappointing. They don't have the correct set up to keep the food hot or covered. Its just sitting out on plates. It should have been complimentary at best. Waffles were from a frozen box. I paid for the breakfast while booking otherwise I would have skipped it the rest of the trip.

The staff was nice, especially Keshaun! She was at the front desk when we checked in and was very friendly, informative and even help me sign up for the Marriott rewards program. Upon check out I left behind some very important items and Keshaun was kind enough to ship them to my location. I will forever be grateful. We were very happy with the southern hospitality we received at the AC hotel.

It was a very clean environment and they were willing to fix the TV that had been giving us trouble. We were within walking distance from our now favourite Indian restaurant and really cute cafes.

The breakfast was really high priced. Although we had paid for extra benefits we were charged $15 a plate for breakfast.

Cleanliness, had everything I needed

gentleman behind the front desk who greeted me was on his personal phone, sloppy appearance, noticed he was absent when someone else came to check in. cleaning staff in the am was so loud letting each door slam against the lock repeatedly. didn’t need to happen.
