Hilton Durham near Duke University

Upon arrival the registration staff was very friendly and attentive. They made us feel at home away from home. We also had interaction with Destin in maintenance. We returned to our room around 11pm and found our entry lights would not turn off. We called for maintenance and it was time for him to end his shift. He did not hesitate to take the call and was extremely courteous and passionate about making sure the issue was resolved before he left. As he was leaving, he noticed the door would not close nor open easily. He offered to fix it at that point, but we told him to go home to his family and it could be fixed while we were out the next day. When we returned from our outing for the day, the door had been repaired. We did not have to make another call to remind him. THANK YOU DESTIN!!!

This hotel is located off the Interstate yet the area is quiet. The beds are very comfortable. We shared a chicken quesadilla at the bar which was very good. There are several fast food restaurants plus a Cracker Barrel located very close to the hotel.

The only thing offered for breakfast is a buffet at a rate of $16.95 per person. It is a glorified continental breakfast and not worth the money in my opinion. The bacon was only half cooked and the scrambled eggs were very wet. No made to order eggs or omelets were offered. We ate at McDonalds a few blocks away for less than one breakfast here.

The room rate was good. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. We were able to get a ground floor room on the street side away from the interstate noise as we requested. Parking was close by. Easy to get in and out of the hotel. The room was quiet. When we needed to book an additional night, Riena (the night auditor) was very helpful in getting us an additional night in the same room at a very reasonable rate. Liked the perk of the free newspaper each morning. Plenty of luggage carts available even though the hotel was solidly booked.

The decor in the room was a little dated, especially in the bathroom.. There was only 1 very small air vent in the bathroom and it was located at the top of the shower rather than in the center of the room or near the sink. It was not very effective in keeping cool and fresh air in the bathroom since the door to the bathroom would not remain open unless it was propped with something. There was only 1 very small trash can to share between the bedroom and the bathroom.

We checked in at 11:00 pm, exhausted. The two working the front desk were friendly, professional and went above board making sure we had everything we needed! The staff with whom we interacted at this hotel were excellent. Facility was immaculate and offered lots of comforts for travelers.

Breakfast experience is why I'll not book here again. Fare - typical continental breakfast buffet - yet cost $40.44 for 2 ppl. Why? Because of Starbucks name -- not because of quality/variety of food. After paying the bill, out of curiosity, I tried to find indication that there was a cost. At the place where we exited this dining area, there was a sign. We felt scammed when presented with bill and would have enjoyed a restaurant more than a $44 typical continental breakfast.

Everyone was friendly and very inviting. My husband and I have to make this trip every 8 weeks for 4 treatments at Duke university. So, it's great to have the staff where you're staying to be so kind. The only downside was that our room was on the side facing the highway which was very noisy and so it was difficult getting a good night's sleep.

There’s a picture that has a hot tub beside the pool, however, there was NO hot tub and I was really looking forward to it. The price per night is also not worth it. Paid way too much for nothing. Too, Still have to pay extra for the breakfast in the morning. Will not be back unless the price is right

Hotel was very up to date and clean. Breakfast was very nice. Anything you could have wanted.

booking.com did not let hotel know that I had already paid for breakfast. They were not going to let us have it without written proof. Had to go back up to room, get car keys, go back out into the parking lot (at 9pm) bring my printed copy in as proof. I think they should have called booking.com and verify what I told them but they did not offer. It was an inconvenience.

Convenient room and comfortable bed. Breakfast was not included (and I forgot about this), but when we came for the breakfast the host lady was very welcoming and polite. We had wonderful time in Durham and stay at Hilton was one of the parts of this.

Everything was great. Probably, the price of the breakfast (not included in the room price) was higher then I expected, but no complaints as I myself forgot to add it while booking.

The room was clean and spacious. Other comparable hotels we have stayed in have provided free coffee and hot tea in the lobbies in the morning , sometimes all day. I expected that We ate dinner in the Bluestone Bar and Grille. Even though he was very busy, our server gave us exceptional service and the food was delicious

No complimentary coffee and hot tea in the lobby as other upscale hotels have offered in the past

Right off the interstate, wonderful accommodations, when checking out the lady was wonderful. She asked what brought us to the area and I explained and she was very caring.

Some of the "tile" on the wall in the room was coming off the wall and the desk chair was not that comfortable. Overall all wonderful hotel.
