Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront

The people were friendly. The hotel was not super busy so social distancing was possible.

The reason for not receiving better review was that room cleaning is not automatic, you must request it. We were not made aware of this so our room was not cleaned the first day. We had to get clean towels from the desk because we had put our towels on the bathroom floor. When we requested for the room to be cleaned it took two days. If this is your police be up front about it.

The location is beautiful, right on a river upstream of the Bay, with the smells, views, peace and beauty of the Chesapeake. It's situated on a park with docks and a small boat launch. The hotel has a large deck overlooking the water, where people can sit and enjoy the view with their drinks from the bar - yes, there is a bar. Breakfast was very nice; a fresh buffet and options for ordering omelets and other menu items. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The building is beautiful. We will come back!

I think I booked the largest room, and it could have been larger given the size of my family (3 sons all under 18). Next year we'll get 2 rooms, since my oldest will be 18 and the boys can stay together.

there was no telephone to order room service… I had to go to the bar to order food… wait for it to be made… then take it back to my room

The staff was helpful and friendly. The location is very visible.

Not very conducive for anyone with mobility issues. Handicap parking is to far away from the front desk and rooms. And the other side of the parking lot has a ramp but again it’s to far from the front desk and no cover for when raining.

This was an unexpected stay. Upon entering the hotel, things were clean and well organized; our room even smelled clean, which was comforting. One situation I want to acknowledge is, I had left my cellphone in my room without realizing it. When I did realize what I did, I called the hotel and they had my phone; the housekeeper found it and turned it into the front desk. Personally, I consider this above and beyond the call of duty. We ate dinner and breakfast in their restaurant. The food was delicious and the servers were very attentive. I pay close attention to small details, as in, cleanliness in the halls, elevators, and property; everything was clean. Even though the stay was short and sweet, we will be back.

My only complaint is the swimming pool was closed due to “renovations “ and I had issues with my key card working on my door and the side entrance door which I had to use.

The staff was lovely and the convenience of the restaurant was great!

The furniture in the actual room had some damage and the air conditioner needs upgrading because it sounds like a barrel running through every time it turns on and off.

I would suggest as I did to the lady behind the desk that you advertise More to key inon the exits and google. Had a horrible experience trying to check in at the Holiday Inn express as well as the quality Inn. Horrible staff disturbingly high rates. Had a migraine and was just looking for the obvious but after a little bit of homework I found you. If people just knew you were around the corner you could pick up a tremendous amount of travel or business and families traveling such as they were on memorial day weekend. A well-placed billboard would’ve filled you up tonight I was there. I was so happy to have found your place good luck! Also you have quite the evening activity going on in the lower parking lot you might want to I have someone make a couple of rounds.

The manager, I believe, Ms. Kim was fantastic. She was personable and attentive. We will stay at the Harbour View location again. Thank you Kim for your professionalism.

Bathroom lighting was okay, but for applying makeup, a magnifying mirror would be a great addition.

Bed - EXTREMELY soft & comfortable. Loved the layout of the hotel. The River view was to die for especially when it rained. Wish we could have spent more to @ your facility to enjoy breakfast, the weight room and other amenities. Look for to a future date

The parking facilities especially after a night out on the town celebrating my girlfriend's 50th Birthday - late arrival ONLY to find the nearest parking spaces were on the other side of hotel near VARIOUS construction vehicles.

I didn’t get hot breakfast because the kitchen was closed on weekends. For the price I paid for the rooms I think hot breakfast should have been available.

The parking for one thing and not having a hot breakfast available. I do understand the pool being closed but not to have s hot breakfast that was included in price was not good idea.
