With so many cheap holidays available to choose from – both on continental Europe as well as further afield – you can be sure you will find somewhere that you and your family members will just love, no matter what your ages or interests are.

However, making the decision on where to go can prove to be a tricky process, so here’s a brief introduction to a few possible destinations.

Tenerife

The Canary Islands have long been a popular destination with British holidaymakers and it’s easy to see why when you consider the mixture of child-friendly resorts such as Playa de Las Americas and Los Cristianos and the sandy beaches that can be found in Tenerife.

A perfect beach holiday destination, you should also endeavour to check out the wide array of attractions that can be found in the largest of the Canary Islands.

You may want to visit the Mount Teide National Park, which is home to Spain’s tallest mountain or check out the captivating wildlife that can be seen at Jungle Park Zoo.

Majorca

Another option is Majorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands. With a host of attractions suitable for children, including the Soller train which goes from the capital of Palma to the port city of Soller, you will not have to worry about your kids getting bored.

Indeed, the host of family-friendly resorts on the island, which include Cala San Vicente and Puerto Pollensa, means you can be sure there are plenty of things for your little ones to get involved in.

The Algarve

If you want to go somewhere in Europe other than Spain, the Algarve region of Portugal can be a great place to visit. This part of the country contains a number of fantastic resorts, including Albufeira, so you can be confident of finding good-quality accommodation at reasonable prices.

If you are travelling with young children, you may be happy doing nothing more than relaxing on the golden, sandy beaches or hiring a pedalo. Teenagers, on the other hand, may be inclined to take part in slightly more adventurous activities and taking a holiday to the Algarve means they are in a good place to do so. The region offers the chance to try sports such as kitesurfing and windsurfing.

Those who visit Albufeira should be sure to visit the nearby ZooMarine Park which has dolphins and other marine wildlife on show. There are also plenty of amusement rides which are suitable for children of all ages. Another popular attraction is a water park called Aqualand which has a range of water slides.

Turkey

Another option to soak up the sun on a family holiday this year is Turkey. With three different coasts to choose from (the Aegean, Lycian and Mediterranean) you will certainly find that you are spoilt for choice when it comes to places where you can lie on the beach and take things easy.

Side, Marmaris, and Bodrum are just a selection of the resorts that you can visit, although wherever you go you may find that you are able to sample traditional Turkish delight and haggle for bargains at the local market.

Florida

For a long-haul family-friendly holiday, why not visit Florida? Here you can visit fantastic theme parks like Walt Disney World and SeaWorld Orlando, resorts which are sure to offer fun for kids of all ages.

Florida holidays are always popular with those young and old alike and that’s down to the array of things to do in and around Florida. As well as the well-known theme parks, there are other attractions such as the Everglades National Park and Discovery Cove, a popular wildlife park that offers visitors the chance to swim with dolphins.

With so many great destinations to choose from, you can be sure that no matter where you choose to go on a family holiday, it will provide you and your loved ones with memories that last a lifetime.
