This place is an absolute GEM!!! After to booking here, I read into the other reviews and saw someone else mentioned this place as a hidden gem and I would have to agree! If you want a place to stay whilst on Mt Tamborine where you can escape this is a place to stay! My partner and I booked a private villa (and private car park too) which is a beautiful little Annex which is a perfect size for a couple that has a balcony at the back looking into the forest where local wildlife (wallabies, kookaburra's and other birdlife) would frequent. As we are up and away from roads you cannot hear any traffic which helps if you want to feel like you have escaped from the concrete jungles. The villa was immaculate! Facilities worked and are of good quality (stove, microwave and fridge), along with provided crockery/cutlery/utensils/pots and pans we were able to cook our breakfast and dinners in house and enjoy the views around. The quality of linen for the beds is amazing! All furniture upkeep is to a high standard. But the hero part of Wallaby Ridge Retreat has to be Dan the manager! We called a day early asking if it were possible to arrive early and stay that extra night and he was more than accommodating! He is so polite, friendly, considerate and generous! As we stayed for 11 days we questioned about using the retreats laundry facilities and without hesitation showed us where is it and how to use the machines (even offered their washing powders but we were happy to provide our own to use). So friendly that he was happy to chill with us at one of the bonfire spots on site. My partner is a trade and showed Dan a bit more on the set up for fires and I think they both bonded from there. Dan asked questions on repairs and things around the site (basic maintenance) and my partner was happy to help him.

Nothing I didn't like... this place is amazing!

I enjoyed everything. I wasn't expecting fresh eggs, orange juice, milk, butter when I opened the fridge. There were spreads and fresh baked bread on site. The kitchenette was well equipped with cooking utensils and cutlery, pot and a frying pan. Crockery, kettle, toaster and microwave, tea towels, coffee plunger, egg cup, cooking oil, a variety of tea bags, sugar and coffee. Dan had everything clean and well presented. Even sent me a text message to find my ETA which I was most welcomed upon my arrival. Dan assisted in helping me to carry my luggage to my room which was more than I had anticipated for it to be. The self contained accommodation was fresh and clean and no bad odours. Lovely breeze and views from the far end of corner house room. I was actually impressed with the freshly baked bread, was very soft and moreish. As I decided to extend my stay another two nights I asked Dan if he made the bread in which he did and asked me if I'd like another loaf freshly made for my extended stay. Nothing was an effort for Dan in meeting my needs for my stay. Even gave me some potatoes as I had none. The bathroom was very clean and well supplied with bath towels, hand towel, bath mat, shampoo, conditioner, waste bin, toilet paper. Spacious bathroom and shower cubicle. Didn't try the pool all spa, but I plan on returning more often and will do so then. Grounds were clean, tidy and very quiet and relaxing. Had a bit of a walk around and loved all the various plants and whimsical artwork. The two cabins looked interesting with balcony views onto the rainforest. So many different areas to sit and enjoy nature. A area near a small pond with seating and a fire to be experienced, Then there are several barbecue dining areas. Wallabies everywhere, even on the verandah passing by. Bed was comfy and I sank into it and no noise.

Water was hot but lacked a bit of pressure which I can understand why in preserving water as tank water, solar panels. Country life not city conveniences.

Pleasantly surprised by the real bottles of shampoo and soap instead of tiny bottles. Loved the home made bread, eggs, juice and cereals for brekkie. Loved the herbal tea options and the plunger coffee. Absolute tranquillity and peaceful setting and beautifully appointed rooms..like a warm hug. Enough cooking utensils and space for self contained living. Close enough to town for pub meal but so secluded and private. Friendly wallabies and magpies, and that view over the valley..the name says it all. We will be back.

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at Wallaby Ridge. We stayed in one of the rooms in the main building which was the size of a one bedroom apartment, comfortable, quiet and had a great outlook. The breakfast supplied was great, the bread particularly fresh and tasty! The pool was relaxing, and overall the surroundings just peaceful, exactly what we needed after a chaotic few weeks. The location is good for accessing everything in Tamborine, and not too far from the coast or Brisbane. The staff are helpful and pleasant, but not at all obtrusive. The Wallaby and small Joey on our back verandah of a morning was a bonus! We will be back

Nothing really from our perspective.

Peaceful and relaxing! Great place to rejuvenate and recharge the batteries with hubby for our one-year wedding anniversary. Dan was super friendly, always helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. It had the best bed I’ve ever slept in while staying away, which is super rare. Netflix available. TV has a moveable arm, so you can watch a move snuggled up in bed. The sounds of nature was lovely and tranquil. Soooo quiet. Large shower and good pressure. Canungra is only 8 mins away, which has restaurants and a FoodWorks, but there are also cooking facilities in the room. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

That we couldn’t stay longer.

Such a beautiful location, peaceful and serene, the grounds and the resident wallabies were gorgeous. The accommodation was perfect for our 2 day escape. The accommodation is simple yet really lovely and Dan made us very welcome, he’d even baked bread to go with the plentiful breakfast supplies provided. The great common areas are so nice too! Thank you! We loved our stay and will come back again soon.

Can’t deny the steep and winding drive to the other side/top of the mountain for nice restaurants was a bit long, but well worth it. Especially at the time of year we visited. You definitely need a car to stay in this area.

We loved the serene and scenic surroundings . We had a lovely view of the surrounding nountains and beautiful sunset. Everything at retreat was thought through well with the needs of the guest in mind . We received a very warm welcome by Dan . He made us feel so welcomed and happy to be there. I will go back there again

The guest next door played loud music for a couple hrs each day when we were there . We wished we had alittle bit more quiet time .

I liked the view, the suite, the spa, the fresh baked bread, and the comfortable big bed. It was a very peaceful and quiet area. Dan, the owner, was most helpful and pleasant.

One minor complaint would be that I would have liked the addition of a savoury spread (such as vegemite and peanut butter) to the breakfast basket. I didn't like the pillows. I found them to be a bit hard.

Wallaby Lodge is our go to place when we need to relax, enjoy the scenery, and watch the sun go down from the spa. Wallaby Lodge is close to the Canungra village which has good options for browsing, shoping, and eating out.

Wallaby lodge has everything we need for a fantastic chill out. We have been there many times and will go back again. There's nothing to dislike.
