Location of this hotel is awesome if you want to be in easy walking distance of all things in San Ignacio which has a fairly concentrated main street. The staff was also wonderful - shout out to Ismael for all the recommendations and helpfulness! Loved the microwave available for use and even the fridge if you ask. Really liked the balcony looking overlooking the city and jungle - highly recommend checking out sunrise! Also free parking if you have a car which is a bonus.

Rooms are definitely a bit small; especially rooms with multiple beds & are not updated. However, I would prefer a lower price and fewer fancy paintings and updates :) Bathroom toilet was really narrow and kind of awkward to get into. TV was clunky to use.

Location is perfect. Parking worked very good (if you do come past the parking at the bus station, park it there right away when going to the hotel). Staff very friendly and helpful.

Room is pretty basic and very small (almost can’t open suitcase small). Shower was okay but didn’t always work ideally (sometimes got cold very fast). We oftentimes had water behind the toilet that was coming towards the room, but we couldn’t figure out what it was (leaking or from outside for example). Towel was missing, but staff helped us out with that promptly. Some things were loose or broken (for example where you plug in electricity).

The Venus is a very solid, clean and safe hotel. It isn't the fanciest or most scenic but definitely checks the boxes. We only stayed overnight on our way to Tikal so we didn't really make use of the amenities of the hotel. Our room had 2 twin and a king size bed which worked for our family of 5. It also included a kitchenette with pots & pans, small fridge and a small dining table. Some of the rooms, including ours, opened up on a exterior hallway. There were places to sit and enjoy the view and breeze on the exterior hallways. The town's market is about a block away and there were a number of small local eating establishments right outside the hotel in the plaza. The Venus provided parking in a well lit parking lot next to the hotel. During the day there is an attendant. Didn't appear to be anyone there at night. Our rental car was fine and I didn't see anything occurring in the parking lot that gave me concern. San Ignacio's main soccer field was located next door and we watched a match from the exterior hallway. The hotel's reception desk sells water, pop and beer for reasonable prices. The Venus isn't the swankiest hotel but it is a solid, clean and well maintained. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again for a longer time period.

We were driving a rental car and Google didn't quite get us to the Venus hotel or their parking lot. Google maps got us to within walking distance and the sign for the Venus wasn't as obvious as it could have been. But the reception desk easily directed us to the parking lot when I called them. But honestly, the issue of finding the hotel may be more operator error and being new to Belize than anything with the hotel. Just look closely for their sign.

Location is fantastic - central to everything, and close to the amazing outdoor market. Staff freshened room daily, and added nice touches like towels folded into swan shapes and such. Desk staff were very friendly and helpful, providing suggestions on where to eat, how to do laundry, etc. Fans and air conditioner kept our room at a very pleasant temperature, despite outside temps around 90 Fahrenheit.

Central location meant that on busy nights the hotel could be a bit loud - there's a bar across the street that's audible from most rooms when it's hopping. Otherwise, no complaints!

The location of Venus hotel could not have been any more central. It was supremely comfortable and staff were welcoming. The bonus was the balcony across the length of the hotel, just outside our room, that overlooked the town square. Loved it! Oh, and another bonus, that we took full advantage of, was the free use of the pool at their sister hotel, which was about a 10 minute walk away. We went hard in the morning, then relaxed by the pool in the afternoon.

The only suggestion I have is to add a shower door or curtain, as the floor by the shower got really wet when we used it.

We stayed in a king room which was really spacious and the bed was really comfy. The location is the best you could have, right on the main pedestrianised street so close to everything. The staff were also really friendly and helpful. Having a fridge was also really helpful.

The shower for some reason doesn't have a shower curtain so the whole bathroom gets soaked after a shower. Such a simple fix to just add a curtain!

Location is perfect, right in the heart of town. I was worried on the first night that it would be noisy as my room faced the 'square' but things quieten down in the eveing and I had no issues with noise. Staff were friendly, They were helpful when you asked questions. A/C was great, espeically after a day in the heat. They have your room serviced everyday that you are there is you want. No wifi probems during my stay.

Pressure was not the best, but was fine for what you need it for, even with long hair I could cope. Hot water takes a little while to come in, but no issues. There were a few times I forgot to hang the no room service needed sign and came in to find clean towels, this is great, but would be good if there is a system in place like, if towels are on teh floor we will change them, if hanging no need as felt like I was then just wasting water.

The hotel is right in the area of town with a lot tourist-oriented shops, tour groups, and great restaurants. The road right in front of it is pedestrianized. To top it all, it's beside a decent alleyway that leads to the public square where there are many party/social events. The back of a hotel has a balcony for everybody with view of the square. Given that, if you're the kind who wants 100% acoustic isolation from the outside, this is not for you. Receptionist from 7am to 12am for all 12ish rooms. Highly comfty beds. Cesar, the receptionist helped me get a good deal for a taxi shuttle back to Belize airport (same price as typical but included a trip to nearby Xunatunich in the opposite direction).

There is a step down upon the door of the room which is a hazard. Hotel lacks aesthetics. No breakfast (though there are many options nearby at 6:00am onwards)

We liked everything. The location was superb, the room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The air conditioning worked flawlessly which was a must for the first day as the temperature went to 100F. The Venus offered free secure parking next door. The staff were friendly and answered all of our questions. The Venus has a sister hotel that is a 5 minute walk that has a pool and pool-side bar that you can use, which was a plus when the temperature soared. Overall, we loved the Venus and recommend it as a great place to stay in San Ignacio.

There wasn't a thing that we didn't like at the Venus Hotel.

Staff were excellent and very helpful with any needs or questions I had. With COVID, travel is a little bit of a hassle and they did a great job answering questions and helping me find the resources I needed for a smooth trip. Location was great, especially for anyone traveling without a car -- this is in the center of the pedestrian street and has a lot of good restaurants close by (where you can just walk).

The room I was in had a shower that was barely working. It only turned on with the handle in one position (which was cold water) and if I tried to turn it any other way the water just shut off. Thankful for curfew because otherwise there would have been a lot of noise as there's no soundproofing to this hotel and every little thing outside and inside echos loudly.
