Tel Star Motel

Recently, I was travelling from BC to SK during this current Heatdome that has been horrifically hot and made driving a long distance, just intensely uncomfortable. Not only that, I had very limited funds when I needed a bed and a shower and definitely cool. I came across the TelStar Motel in Brooks AB for a very reasonable cost. My son and daughter in law were kind enough to assist by booking me a room here. Due to recent circumstances, I had to literally flee my marriage and move 2100 kms away. Karan was so very kind to me and was so helpful as well Not only assist did he assist me with opening my little kitchenette suite, turn the a/c and he then proceeded to return 5 minutes laterwith 2 ice cold drinks for me! I was at the point of borderline heatstroke and he must have noticed. As a woman travelling alone, it was so nice to be treated not only with kindness but also respectfully . The room was clean and tidy and very comfortable. I appreciated that I was settled very quickly from greeting to departure the next day. They will always have my business when I am in the area and gladly recommend it to friends. Thank you Karan for taking my situation into consideration and treating me so kindly. The location is good and easy to reach. The rooms are clean, quiet and decent. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The price value was fair enough.

Some appliance are old but can still use it.

The staff is extremely friendly, very accommodating, and super helpful when you need it. The location is central and easy to find, the rooms are clean but best of all is the value. The value for your money is the unbeatable. If you're on a budget and need to stay in this area of the province then this should be your only choice. I have stayed here multiple times and have never been disappointed.

Great, friendly and helpful staff! Location is really good, close to all shops and restaurants. very clean rooms, spacious and quiet. Overall, it exceeded my expectations, good value for the price and would recommend!

It is an old motel and I way a little worried when I checked in, but although old the rooms were incredibly clean, and there is some Reno’s that have been done already. For the price I paid it was a good deal.

Not the best parking plan, if I had parked in front of my door I would have blocked people in.

Leonard is the best host, loved the guy. Straight forward and honest, cut from a cloth they don't cut no more. Last of a dying breed. Give that man more than he deserves. He deserves it.

It's your run of the mill motel, but the owner is doing a lot of renovations to try to make it super cozy. The new beds were nice

They are in the middle of doing renos. Nice to see them investing in the hotel. Should be nice when they are done.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and it was great value.
