Canalta Camrose

We had a very good breakfast. The staff was exceptional. The front desk clerk was so helpful and the lady that took care of breakfast was such a happy and sociable character ;she engaged with all the guests in such a pleasant way. Clean , quit and comfortable. A little pricey for my budget. I think that some of the cost goes to looking after and maintaining the pool and water slide which is great for families but not so much for seniors. Loved that there was a a Mister Mike's restaurant on the same property and a Superstore across the street. Well located.

It was a bit pricey for our budget other than that I can not think of anything we did not like.This was a wonderful stay

Location is on the edge of town, so not central (although nothing in Camrose is too far!) but also not as loud or busy as a result. Close to many restaurants and shopping! The breakfast offerings were fresh, tasty and hot! No complaints, better than average free breakfast. Kids loved the waterslide.

Although I thought they were fine, my husband didn't find the pillows to be that comfy. There were often a lack of towels at the pool (we went twice and both times had to wait for more towels), although we were there the weekend of a dance competition, so there were more kids than average using the pool, and likely taking towels to their rooms instead of placing them in the bin, so not entirely the hotel's fault. The heating/cooling was a little finicky - was either freezing or baking, but luckily could just open a window. Not a deal breaker, just mildly irritating.

Great location, easy to find and close to everything, plenty of parking and the rooms were large and well appointed. Beautiful view from all the windows and a walking trail around the pond out front. Quiet even with plenty of people in the hotel, breakfast was hot and delicious and they had gluten free options!

We found the hotel 100% from check in to check out. Friendly, professional staff at front desk and also housekeepers working on our floor at check in. I worked front desk at the opening in 2007/08 of Canalta Super 8 in Rimbey. Yesterday in Camrose Canalta was like coming home in years of so many changes. Thank you.

There was nothing we didn’t like, except we found couches and toilet lower than we prefer.

Breakfast was very nice. It's nice to have an omelet bar and bagels as options, and everything was fresh. Lots of options for spreads and juice on site [I'm not a coffee drinker]. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning set at an idea temperature for sleeping.

My only complaint was the pillows. Too soft and not supportive. Sadly, this is typical of most hotels. The Optik TV options in the room were almost exclusively networks, local programming and sports. Would've liked to be able to watch Food Network, TLC or something else in the evening.

The staff were very friendly, and the rooms were fresh and clean. Kids enjoyed the pool and water side. The breakfast offer was appreciated, although limited selection. We were disappointed with the amount of single-use plastic for wrappings (eg. for individual bread and bagel slices) and utensils. I appreciate there may be a covid-management aspect, but the result is a huge plastic trash footprint.

Great location, room large enough for larger family (we have 4 kids). Cable was better than other hotels we've stayed at. Pool open 8am-10pm and wasnt too deep at slide for our kids who cant yet swim. Jacuzzi was relaxing :) Breakfast was really good.

Beds were okay. Pool room floors were dirty.

The room was great. It was clean and suited our needs perfectly.

The lighting in the bathroom is very dim. Not sure if different bulbs are needed or if it was the fixtures but I found it difficult to see very well in the mirror. The only other hiccup was that the hot tub was lukewarm but we did hear that the property was having boiler trouble and being a long weekend, they were unable to get it repaired until after the weekend.

I did not have breakfast but there is a pretty big space allotted to it. The rooms are big and comfy... I had difficulty figuring out how to use the AC. The location is close to pretty much everything and the staff are friendly.

The hot tub was not very hot... it was about the temperature you would like the pool to be.

The staff are so amazing there the last who does the breakfast came and talked to us. The pool is excellent. What a beautiful hotel
