Tonquin Inn

the bathroom had a SEPARATE switch for the fan & the light.....you know, the fan noise doesn't come on all the times you turn the light on.....there was a good selection of towels (Brianna (Bridgett!!) was very pleasant & friendly at the front desk.....Enjoyed an excellent meal at the Whiskey Jack restaurant & appreciated the 10% discount ticket

the squeeky floor might be disturbing to the folks below ( we were in 219) & gees, the rooms need a more modern toilet...short & wee just doesn't cut it anymore...sorry, I know that would be a big expense upgrading those throughout the property!!

Check in was quick and easy. Room was a decent size and had a coffee machine/fridge. There was a large balcony as well. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was good and the wash basin was in the room rather than the bathroom, so it had more light for using the mirror. I also used the pool (which was great and it had a separate jacuzzi), I didn't use the hot tub as it was too warm outside to need it! The inn is 5 - 10 mins walk from the centre of the town. I could always find parking on site.

The toilet didn't always flush properly. Nothing else negative to say!

Nice place to stay to explore the Rockies around Jasper; The town center is 10 away by foot. Although located by the road, it was not noisy at all. The room was big and had everything we needed. There is a small hot tub at the hotel which is usually very crowded in the summer.

The (southern-faced) room got heated up quite a lot during daytime so that it was very hot in our bedroom. There a mobile AC but it wasn't able to cool down the entire apartment.

After a few 'not so good experiences' around Banff and Jasper, Tonquin Inn actually surprised us. Most places in the region do not allow you an early check-in even if they have rooms available and Tonquin was a surprise exception. They gave us a room when we checked with them around 1:30 pm, ready to be refused. We were on level 3, with a spacious room and a sunny balcony.

It is not in downtown Jasper, but if you are driving, it does not really matter, as it is a 5 minutes drive away from the town centre.

Really enjoyed the hot tubs and swimming pool. The beds were comfy, and the staff is great to deal with. We'd definitely stay again when we go back to Jasper.

The railway yard across the street is a bit annoying when trying to sleep, but other than that, it's great! I would still stay again.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating. They upgraded us to a suite for free. The room was very functional and had a nice fireplace, complete with a complementary log. This establishment is on the better end of motels.

The spa and swimming pool could use better lighting and a few plants. And the restaurant closed earlier than the last call hour given to us by the front desk, because they didn't have enough clients that night according to them.

Location and cleanliness were great, room had heat you could control and a nice fireplac with a fire log. Great added touch! Pool and hot tub are very nice, but change room lockers definitely need a fresh coat of paint and a nice mountain scene or something colorful could really liven up the pool area but it was clean with fresh towels. Outdoors and indoor hot tubs too!

Parking is tight, you may be unloading then parking down the street if you aren't there early and no where to get breakfast.

Ground floor room, (we had heavy luggage) functional, plenty of hot water, towels. Spacious, kettle, fridge plenty of supposed space and room to put cases. Comfy bed and pillows. Short walk into downtown Jasper. Whisky Jack Grill opposite. Plenty of parking. Swimming pool and hot tubs

We were the end room and the stairs were attached. It was incredibly noisy and the room shook when people were walking up and down.

I liked the layout (family suite) with kitchenette and separate bedroom. Liked the pool and hot tubs. The price was very reasonable compared to other Jasper accommodations. (Note: accommodation in Jasper is expensive, but this was the best deal, kitchenette, so you do not have to eat out all the time, which also saves $$$ .) It was clean and the staff were very friendly.

Couldn't really think of anything we didn't like.

Room is very nicely designed, modern, spacious and comfortable. Separate toilet and sink area.

A few minor inconveniences: 1. Front desk and housekeeping staffs are not very friendly (except on the morning of checkout) 2. Very small parking area near the elevator and is always full. Ample parking around the property but access to rooms on upper floor only by stairs 3. Only 2 available wall plugs in the room and none by the nightstand - one shared with a floor lamp and one around the sink area shared with a hair dryer. There’s a power bar close to the tv but it’s on the floor. 4. Hairdryer is not hot enough (only lukewarm air at the hottest setting) 5. One of the bed (by the window) is uneven, much softer on one side and much firmer on the other (likely from being slept on repeatedly on one side only) so you have to choose which side to sleep on.
