Rooms are amazing. They're all on par with a large hotel suite at a top hotel, maybe better depending on the type of vibe you like. They each had a nice Jacuzzi tub, so bring your bath salts! Breakfast was a great buffet that was delicious and generous. I would absolutely stay here again, hopefully for a longer time. It's within easy walk of the Government House gardens.

Length of stay could have been longer. Watch your step on the front stairs. If you're a little clumsy like me, they can be a little prone to trips. There's no easy access for wheelchairs, and suitcases will need to be carried up stairs. The top room has some narrow and steep stairs, so if you don't want to haul your luggage, bear that in mind, although the staff was very friendly about offering to assist.

Beautiful and well kept manor and grounds. The breakfast was fantastic. Fresh food with great flavors. The chef always made eggs, then served hot veggies (different each day), cold salad, fresh fruit and baked goods. They accommodated my dairy allergy each day and even made some dairy free muffins one day so I could enjoy those too. The staff was friendly and the chef/manager went beyond answering our many history questions and sharing stories of the manor. Very clean! The housekeeping staff did a great job in our room and the shared space was also very clean. .

Zero complaints about our stay. I would only suggest a name change. It is NOT a castle.

The Prior Castle Inn was amazing! We love to stay in unique places and if they have historical flair it's a plus. We arrived in Victoria on one of the warmest days of the summer and we are both folks in larger bodies, used to air conditioning, but we also live in the Pacific Northwest and are accustomed to many places not having it. We assumed this historical building would also not have it. Our room was on what is the second floor, (up one flight) and I'm happy to say that with windows open on both sides of the room and a fan we were more than comfortable in the evening after the sun went down. Comfortable king-sized bed, really large room, comfy chairs, big deep jetted tub with shower, and even a heated tile floor in the bathroom. The 'kitchenette' had everything we needed. There were cold drinks and some snacks on the main floor available like fruit and muffins, and a lot of information on things to do and see in the area. The neighborhood is spectacular, and one of the things we truly recommend is taking a walk only a couple blocks away to Government House which is the Lt Governor's residence where they have 36 acres of beautifully-manicured and cared for gardens in a park-like setting that is open to the public, for free, from dawn to dusk. They are painstakingly maintained by an army of volunteer gardeners and we had a wonderful time wandering the grounds, talking to the folks who have made it their labor of love to prune the roses and tend to the herbs and just keep everything beautiful. We'd be remiss if we didn't mention breakfast. Every morning we awoke to delicious smells coming from downstairs and would head down after 8 to a delicious spread in the breakfast room. Each day was a little different, with breakfast selections so varied anyone could find something to love.

I have a little bit of a mobility challenge so I'd just say, remember that in historic buildings stairs aren't always even, cobblestones are kind of cobbley, etc. But we got help taking our luggage up the stairs and I made the steps just fine. I honestly can't think of anything that we "disliked" at all.

Everything was fabulous. The bed was super comfortable, the breakfast was extraordinary, the location is excellent, the staff is friendly and informative, the room is huge, and the grounds are very pretty. Jeff presents a smorgasbord of delectable food at breakfast each morning: fresh fruit, scones or banana muffins, bacon or sausage, eggs. yogurt, etc. Homemade goodies as well as tea/coffee, juice and iced tea are available in the lobby 24/7. The house is around the corner from the Government House where one can enjoy the beautiful gardens and views. This is truly a wonderful, historic home to experience. Jeff, Villiam, and Charlotte all made our stay most delightful. I have already recommended this place to multiple people.

Some of the bathroom fixtures need repair, but there was nothing to detract from a wonderful visit. I would have liked to have stayed even longer.

Prior Castle is a beautiful hotel tucked away in a residential neighbourhood, which is about a 10 minute walk from the nearest bus stop. We only stayed one night but were amazed by the room, which was extremely spacious and clean. As it's a smaller hotel, there were other guests about but the hotel was very welcoming. There are beautiful gardens that you can lounge in and also small public rooms to enjoy tea and afternoon snacks. There were many options for breakfast, and lots of options for the vegetarian, including fresh fruit, yogurt, poached eggs, freshly made scones and baby potatoes. I would highly recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again.

Our room had a large tub that would be great for soaking, but there were no options for a stand-up shower. It made it slightly awkward for a quick rinse.

Breakfast was outstanding. Our room was very comfortable, spacious, homely and perfect. Charming place.

No paper in the downstairs washroom which caught about four people short! No tea or milk by the kettle in the room which meant wandering downstairs in my pyjamas to source some - there’s a kettle, a fridge, coffee, sugar…..why not bother with milk and tea? Half an hour to book/waiting for a Taxi and the gentleman seemed totally disinterested in its delay and that we were just loitering around. To be very simply told that after 19.00 we were on our own and there would be no one there - and to just let ourselves in seemed a bit impersonal.

The location, house, beds and staff were exceptional. The breakfasts were lovely. Plenty of choices and food wonderful. The room we ate in was so lovely. Lovely neighborhood to walk around in and only a 15 minute walk to shops and good restaurants. We did find a bunch, but only after walking around for a bit.

When we checked in we asked the desk clerk to recommend a restaurant that was walking distance and he didn't know any. Said he used Yelp. Found out later he was new. In the room there were restaurants listed but they didn't appear to be close.

We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The property was beautifully maintained and exceptionally clean. It was situated in a terrific area especially if you love walking. Linda was always on site and regularly enquired if we needed anything and was quick to obtain anything we did request. Breakfasts were excellent and beautifully presented in a well appointed diningroom with outdoor deck access. On site parking was very welcome. We will stay there again!

Everything was wonderful! Thank you.

It had an 'Old World' look and feel. I prefer an older property instead of the sterile modern ones. This property seemed like it had been a turn of the century home of a well off family. The staff was quite warm and friendly I really liked the nice garden. The breakfast room was sweet and the continental breakfast good. The chef was personable. I would stay here again. There had been a mix up with our rooms and we had to move after one night. The owner graciously refunded our first nights charges.

We had a HUGE room that was in the bottom level of the property, slightly below grade. This made it darker than most rooms would be. I thought it needed more lamps to make it more comfortable. The kitchen was a plus.

Location ideal! Rooms spacious! Views stunning! Breakfasts delicious! The best part - Jeff. He was the only staff that made sure we were comfortable and had what we needed.

Dirty, ill fitting carpet in Westminster room took away from what was otherwise a stunning room. No blind on balcony window/door made for hot afternoons. Both rooms were given part rolls of toilet paper and tissue with no extras in room. We had to ask twice to gert more. Though we didn’t ask for towels to be replaced they were taken after the second day but not enough towels were left behind.
