I absolutely loved the location and the room. The room itself and bathroom were really spacious In addition we had access to big private terrace where you could just sit and relax during the day or even enjoy a drink before your bed time. The bathroom included bathtub which proved to be really handy after we returned from whale-seeing activity - it's pretty chill in the ocean. Beds were really comfortable. Despite hotel being located on the most touristic street of St John's - the Water street - the stay was pretty calm as our room was on the harbour side. A special mention and thanks to the staff of the hotel - they were really friendly and helpful. The location was especially great for us as, being dedicated craft beer lovers and explorators, we were able to get to every beer place around by foot easily

Seaguls were a bit noisy but it's tolerable and not hotel's fault; If you will be staying stay in the same room we did be ready that they will be staring at you through the window bagging for the food or even occasionally hitting the glass with their beaks :D

Our accommodation was extraordinary. Super comfortable and funky decor. The bar and restaurant were both excellent with regard to service and food quality. When we arrived, Sully (the owner/manager) actually met us outside, escorted us in and to our rooms. He was a super great person with a perfect personality and skill set for the hospitality industry. We were absolutely amazed that on the day of our departure, Sully remembered all our names! The location of Blue on Water is situated in the heart of downtown with the best bars, restaurant, music venues, etc. Everything was in walking distance! Could not have been better.

The only thing that was initially a little challenging was trying to find the parking. Water Street was only open to foot traffic for the summer months. However, as mentioned, Sully made sure that we settled in with ease.

Great location on Water St. Staff member, Sullivan who went above and beyond to get us to and from the parking. Nice bar/restaurant. Lovely bathroom. With comfy robes. Comfortable bed with nice linens. Nice toiletries and towels . Some nice touches. I would stay here again

The parking situation was a bit crazy because of the pedestrian mall closing the street-however staff was lovely in helping us navigate that. Weird cabinets around the bed felt claustrophobic (in our particular room). No proper closet. I didn't realize that the rooms were above a bar. It was OK for noise though. Not a nice view from window - parking lot and construction

I enjoyed the cool vibe of the area and the restaurant and hotel were the very center of all the action. The hotel room was great, wonderful bath and shower! Unlike most other hotels in st. John's Blue on Water has streaming services so I could enjoy Netflix Prime and so on. The comp bathrobe was the cherry on top! I didn't eat in the restaurant but ordered to my room the absolutely best hamburger I've ever had... there was so much incredible food it was hard to choose just one thing . I will definitely be going back.

The parking was a bit annoying. It's down the road in a different building. The only saving grace was that the manager met me there and helped carry my bags. Honestly because of the location there really isn't any other solution to this issue... I'll still be going back

The room was beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised. The location is perfect. Plenty of resturants, shops bars and close to the harbourfront. The resturant staff were vey friendly and helpful. The food was great. We had the mussels & scallops for our appetizer. Mussels were plentyful and the scallops were tender and juicy. The fish tacos were delicious.

Nothing that they could have controlled....the RAIN :)

The location was perfect in the middle of the pedestrian mall. The hotel has an amazing restaurant on the ground floor and the food was the best! Our room was gorgeous.. very spacious and elegant with a large deck with a view of signal hill. A fantastic holiday!!

Breakfast was not included in the price, but we ate in the restaurant anyway and the meal was delicious, with local options and very large portions!

Quirky boutique hotel. Our room was VERY dark...one little window up about 15ft. Although they seemed to have lots of lights the room was still very dark. Great bed, huge bathroom with enough amenities to make things comfortable. If the bar was busy at night the room was abit noisy but not unbearable. Ask for a room with a window would be my only thing...otherwise great location, friendly staff & clean. Restaurant & bar were very good.

We had a very dark room...no window to let much light in and no view other than the inside walls. Otherwise acceptable place to stay for sure.

It’s location was right on Water St. Which is closed of to traffic from July to September. Lots of excellent restaurants (including Blue on Water). Very short walk to harbour. The room was very clean and unique. Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. If I was returning to Newfoundland, I would definitely stay there again.

The only thing I didn’t like, was the coffee we had in our room. It was like drinking colour water. No taste.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Made sure I had what I needed and not to hesitate if I needed anything else. The room was so comfortable and clean. Had a homey feel to it which was important for me. The tub was my favorite part; was great to soak in after working on my feet as a photographer for 10 hours

The only thing I found somewhat bothersome was that you could hear music/bands playing from a few bars down, but that was to be expected given the area. My room was at the very front of the building, so if you are a light sleeper this may be slightly problematic for you

I had a great evening. I had a bit of a issue getting there as Water St. is closed for pedestrian traffic in the summer. But when I got close to the hotel the owner himself, Mr. Sullivan came to my truck and personally took me to a secure parking area and carried my bag to the hotel. This is the experience you could only dream of. This place is full of charm and great people. The food and drinks were fantastic. A definite place to visit in St John's
