Penny's Motel

Excellent decor- the bar and restaurant on site was amazing! The espresso machine and potato chips in the room were great. Loved the recommended itineraries on the website.

Lighting was pretty poor in the rooms. Could have used more lighting everywhere. Was really surprised that there was no fridge in the room- major bummer. With limited hours for the restaurant, it would have been really useful to have a fridge in the room to store food and drinks. The toilet in our room also didn’t seem to be anchored to the floor?

Fantastic place to stay, preferred it even over the expensive hotels!! The shower is phenomenal quality, an espresso coffee machine in the room, very comfortable bed, beautiful ambiance and interior design, the outdoor premises are quaint with a fire pit that’s cozy, a bar that serves amazing oysters and the check-in, check-out process couldn’t have been easier. No waiting in line, you receive a text with all the necessary information and just walk to your assigned room :) parking is free, the staff replies instantly and truly give you excellent service. We will be coming back, this is our new go to spot for blue mountain!

Just wanted to try a boutique motel, did not have any expectations, so it was a cute experience to stay at Penny’s. One can feel the owner took a lot of thinking into the design of the rooms and the surrounding sitting areas. For people staying there for ski trips and trail walks, it is a good location. Thornbury is a very nice and quiet town. Great breakfast places within walking distance.

The room is simple and modern. Washroom is a bit small but nicely renovated. Perhaps a vanity is better than a shelf underneath the sink.

Beautiful and wholesome boutique motel with exceptional hospitality! The beds were super comfortable and the fluffy duvets and the soothing shower with heated floor were exactly what we needed after an action-packed day at the Blue mountains. The oysters, pizzas and the drinks were so delicious that was difficult not to overindulge. We especially appreciate Catherine and her team's impressive effort making our new year stay a life long memorable experience. You can really feel the love and care at this little gem just a short 13 minutes drive to the Blue mountains. We will be talking about the awesome New Year's eve party for many years since none of us partied so hard (and we didn't plan to but hard to resist the fun and inviting vibes) in such a long long time by the bonfire. The kids enjoyed it so much that no one wanted to leave. It was definitely the highlight of our trip!

Nothing about the motel itself! The only thing was we forgot to take any photos because we were just so thoroughly immersed in the moment having too much good fun.

the service in the restaurant was great! the rooms were cozy and clean and the motel/fire pit was great for interacting with other guests. dog friendly was a plus!

no mini fridges in the king suite was an issue! there should have been more seating in the room & light in the closet/cubby. the TV was too small for the largest room in motel but not an issue. the prices for food should be discounted for patrons staying at the hotel. for the price it was per night $300+ I should have been way more impressed with amenities and services given. they never told me about the $70 charge for the dog that was an extra which was a surprise.

We had a great stay at Penny's, the room was clean, beds were comfortable, facility was cute and relaxing. Penny's is achieving what it set out to do – Insta-chic motel backed by quality and comfort. The communal fire-pits incite conversation and the rooms are private and quite. We stopped in for some oysters and cocktails at the beginning of our stay and had a great chat with the staff and owner. We'll be back during ski season for Après. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

I liked the outdoor cooler for drinks – but keep in mind theres no mini fridges. Could have used a few more coat hangers and a second small lamp on the desk. Theses are just personal preferences and not functionality problems, the room functioned great.

I can’t say enough good things about it. It is so chic, down to every detail including room decor, court yard, fire pits ( cutest s’mores kits) , the Apres bar is perfect and the Espresso Martinis and Oysters were unreal. The staff is amazing , so kind . They are so accommodating as well, I think as feeling a little rough the morning of checkout (one too many bevvys ) and they were so sweet to allow me more time to get myself checked out. Even offered to make me coffee and had two cold bottles of water waiting for me in the office . I will one hundred percent be back .

Overall our stay was incredible. Fantastic customer service. We loved that it was a community experience where all the guests took the time to sit around the fire and got to know each other. This enhanced our visit. Thank you for a wonderful weekend! ☺️

The only two things we would recommend is putting a bigger mattress to sit on the bed frame as we consistently ran into the bed frame, and to put a second chair in the room so we could have somewhere other to sit than just the bed.

Room was a bit small. We kept hitting the bed platform corners. The bathroom was new with an excellent shower, however we are used to grab bars in the shower (we are not handicapped or disabled, but appreciate a bar to get in and out of shower). We appreciated the low light in the bathroom.

There was a mini pool, like a tub. There should be a real pool or no tub.

I loved the easy check in/ out process, the decor in the room was modern and comfortable. Staff was exceptional and went above and beyond with hospitality. I will most certainly be staying here again - if I can book in.

I really can't think of anything I didn't like. This was a nice comfortable place to stay when in town for work.
