Motel 6-Moosomin, SK

The breakfast is a refreshingly good self serve breakfast. A decent breakfast, not just throwing some pastries out there and calling it done with no protein like some. The breakfast was memorably great. Also, being nearby The Red Barn is definitely a win (person at corporate HQ reading this, GOOGLE THIS RESATURANT. Great chicken).

I had some trim that was coming off the lounge desk seat. I untucked it so it would be more noticeable as I didn't notice it until I was sitting. Lit yellow towel rack in bathroom looks great, but the black power cable could be bundled better to hide it behind the fixture. If these seem rather petty and nitpicky, they are. I have no significant problems.

This is not the Motel 6 of yesteryear. It's a very well appointed and modern budget motel. The staff at the motel were very friendly and accessible. It's relatively new so it's very clean. The breakfast the next morning was simple, Heat up your own waffles, french toast or toast. A couple of packaged soft boiled eggs or packaged egg mcmuffin type breakfast sandwich to put in the microwave. Muffins, tee, coffee. It's what was advertised and was fine. We had a light out over one of the bed. No maintenance staff on duty so it couldn't be replaced. The lady running the desk knocked 36 bucks off our bill. Great, caring service. They may not have left one light on for us but treated us well. Iff you're stopping off in Moosomin you should feel good about staying at Motel 6.

Not much to be picky about

This hotel was friendly, reasonably clean, and perfect for a one-night stay as we were travelling up the #1 Highway. Hot tip: there is a really lovely restaurant in Moosomin called the Cork & Bone — check it out if you're in town for the night.

This is a minor inconvenience, but there are no coffee pots in the rooms — you have to go down to the main area and get coffee from their 24 hour area. We much prefer being able to make coffee without having to get dressed and presentable first.

Convenient just off the highway #1. Very clean rooms even though obviously lots of working people through there. Beds were very soft. not to noisy considering the location, even with my window open.

The breakfast was plentiful but all pre-fab, not fresh, but boiled eggs, toast, egg sandwiches to heat in microwave. Coffee was Nestle syrup and just so so. But many teas available 24/7.

Loved that there was no carpet and that all furniture (beds too) were off the ground being supported by metal poles...which bed bugs can't grip to! Modern design, bright, spacious for two people. Easy access way from front and back of building. Close/ within walking distance to town amenities Loved the pillows too. I asked for the brand but they didn't know.

Pancakes and waffles sat out in breakfast room, so who knows when those were made or who touched them. No gluten free options.

Master switch at door is a great idea. Modern styled9 rooms was a mice touch.

Breakfast was beyond disappointing. Pre-made waffles and 'French toast' were terrible, butter frozen, had to buy juices. Microwave was difficult to operate, should be more intuitive. I skipped it and went to Tim Hortons. Would have gone to A&W if it were open early.

Clean hotel, good place to stop after a long drive that accepts pets (a dog in my case). Staff were friendly and helpful.

There was free coffee, but anything else had to be bought from one of the vending machines. There are other restaurants options, nearby (Moosomin is not that big). I can't recall if there was any mention of a free breakfast, that may have been my oversight.

The room was really well set up and we had everything provided for a good stay. The staff were very nice and accommodating and the beds were comfortable. We stayed with a cat and it was perfect. She loved the design and was able to comfortably walk around.

The only downside was there were people above us who were a bit loud-- not the staff's fault or the facility. The room was excellent.

When we arrived we were met by one of the friendliest check-in staff members in a long time. After checking into our room, we found a few items that we liked addressed such as more coffee packets (only one in the room), a couple of pillows, washcloths, nothing major. I also pointed out to her that one of the cabinet door hinges is missing a screw which caused the door to "flop" and not operate properly. We went out for a quick food trip and when we came back, she had taken care of all the items I asked about (except for the maintenance issue). Totally appreciated her kindness, attitude and obvious dedication to her profession. I believe her name was Danaeah??.

The curtains were not of the total night kind and by the time the sun had come up, 5:30, the room was very much lit up. We stayed in a kitchenette suite and we were not comfortable with the cleanliness of the cups, glasses, cutlery.....we cleaned them before using any of them.

Staff was great! Walk in price is great! Location great while on trip back to Ontario. Bed was comfortable! And, PETS STAY FREE! not having to pay an extra $20 for my little dog more than makes up for the lack of breakfast option.

Breakfast was not the best, nothing hot and no free juice, no yogurt. Free coffee, free packaged muffins, and free egg mcmuffins that you microwave yourself.
