Hotel Cañas

The staff there are nice. I needed to check out at 3am to go to Cerro Pelado nearby for the sunrise hike. Since reception was closed, I called the number provided by Booking.com and a man met me outside to receive the keys and open the door. The bed was sufficiently comfortable. Good, central location in Cañas. Air conditioning functions well, only a little slow to start.

Bed sheets were stained. I don’t think there is hot water or maybe I couldn’t understand how to turn it on. I saw some small bugs on the bed.

Parking in courtyard by room. Restaurant had good food. Staff accommodating. Room adequate (don't expect the Hilton). Air conditioner worked great and quiet.

Water was only tepid. The pizza place across the street had live music that was loud. The singer got off key quit frequently but they stopped the music by 8.

We arrived early morning and left late in the afternoon, but we were given access to a room where we could leave our luggage before check-in and after check-out free of charge. Room clean, even with carpet. Some equipment older but everything functional.

The staff did not speak English, we had to use a translator. The room had street oriented windows and since the windows could not be closed completely, there was a bit of noise in the evening. We would appreciate a small refrigerator.

The staff was very nice and the place is environmentally friendly. That was the first place we visited who was not using single use plastic, had their own well with clean water and solar planels. The location was great with everything you need at close walking distance and safe parking space for the car. Perfect place for a quick stop.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant is good. The first time we stayed here we had a room in the main hotel and it was very nice, spacious and clean. The second time we were across the street, the room was much smaller and very old. Everything was clean.

Excellent value. Basic room, but was clean and the beds were comfortable. A/C worked well. Hotel staff were super friendly. We had dinner and breakfast in their restaurant and both were excellent. Coffee was especially good. Highly recommend Hotel Cañas!

Great little stop before we had to cross the boarder into Nicaragua. They had a reaalllly good lunch and it was awesome. Check in was easy and there was a place for me to work. It was close to pharmacies and the bus stop was 2 blocks away.

Cold showers. But thats an everywhere thing, not just this place.

The hotel is in a great location, it's quiet and has been renovated recently. Everything is very clean and the new owners really make you feel welcomed! There is no hot water, but that's not a problem because the shower is lukewarm, so it's actually very pleasant after a hot day. Their restaurant is good (try the cheesecake!) and the parking very safe. To sum up, it's a perfect stop for people in transit, I would definitely come back again!

The bed mattress is a little stiff.

very nice staff, the room was way better than expected for the price. Bed was typical Costa Rica hardness. The restaurant was good value at night and breakfast was good too. For the money, it was exceptional!

The Staff was friendly and helped us immediately eg. calling a taxi, giving us directions etc. We got a free room upgrade. The room was tidy, clean and very comfortable. The area was quiet despite the traffic around the house. Breakfast was good for what he paid.
