Hotel Tomislavov Dom

Helpful staff, beautiful location, great value for money. We loved the view of the city from above, forrest around and the architecture of the hotel. The swimming pool was empty and nice to swim- we haven't tried the sauna but it is a good option to have. Room was spacious and very cosy. The ride up to the mountain (in the new cable car) is amazing, but hiking up to hill is also good.

The swimming pool room could offer better/bigger towels and be better equipped. Also the water was a bit too cold. The room had a weird, low buzzing constant vibration sound from the ventilation (I assume), but my partner wasn't bothered by it, only me, so I assume it is not a problem for everyone (depending how sensitive one's hearing is). The mini-bar in the room was empty, this could be improved too.

1. The best part of this accommodation are definitely the people. All of the were very kind, helpful and with good level of English. 2. The surroundings are also awesome. I had my bicycle with me and there are a lot of of well maintained grovel roads around with fabulous views and a lot of things to see. 3. The meals are not very innovative, but seem to have good quality. 4. Quite nice pool. 5. Room was renewed, well maintained and clean.

1. Visiting this hotel is a bit like traveling 30 years to the past... some might like it, some not. 2. Mattress on the bed is pretty soft... again, some might like it, but I prefer hard mattress. 3. The hotel looks pretty dark... like I was one of the few guests in the hotel (they might be more focused on winter season), so they seem to be saving money on the electricity by using bulbs with low voltage... but then everything looks dark. 4. The area around reception and the restaurant look quite worn-out.

I was very please to stay in this Hotel, nature is amazing around it. Very fair price for the facilities and the meals in the restaurant. I recommend it for not fancy but general normal people. Definitely will visit again of I travel to Zagreb.

The view over Zagreb is a bit limited due to the trees. And ofcours this is nothing to do with the hotel, but the lift was out of service.

Great nature surrounding the hotel, the air is very fresh and clean, a good night's sleep is guaranteed. Getting there could be a bit challenging, but once you succeed, it is well worth. The staff were very kind and helpful, giving us the precise directions to the hotel and helping us use the pool earlier than its scheduled opening time.

It would be great if they could put signposts for the entrance of the hotel. We weren't sure if we were going to the right place as we were driving late in the evening. The bathroom desperately needed maintenance. The shower head, its holder and parts of the tub were broken but usable with some effort. Some parts were worn out and rusting, and looked not so nice. No WiFi access in the rooms, only at the lobby, which I think is a big minus for a hotel at this scale.

Location is excellent for hideaways, hikes and relaxation in the summer. (In the winter it is a ski resort.) The views are excellent, the forest is wonderful. The rooms are not very big but comfortable. The stuff is professional and the waiters at the restaurant were especially very kind and helpful. We did use the pool, too it was ok. (Not suitable for big swims but for relaxation it is fine.) Food was OK both for breakfast and for dinner. Nothing special but well prepared. This place is of course not for luxury it is for doing a great hike in the forest and have a rest afterwards.

Lack of wifi came as a surprise. One of our rooms (the single bed room) was facing the back and the pool's ventilator was kinda loud. There's nothing to do about that I guess, but I actually woke up rather early as someone was listening to the radio really loud at 6 in the morning.

The breakfast was great with many options, I had bread, fried eggs, hotdog, olives, cheese and salad. I like that it is open buffet . There was also jams, butter, nutella and oats. As for drinks there was green tea which I like. I just hope there will be one day fresh juices.

Check-in was fast. Most things in the room were great. I'd totally recommend it.

The bed had a really thick cover so it was either feeling cold or burned up. The loo isn't big person friendly, but still usable. The location, this was on me though, I didn't know (or checked well enough) that the hotel was on top of a very high mountain! Me being afraid of heights... But the view made it worth it.

The reception staff was hospitable and helpful! The location is beautiful--close to hiking trails and their cafes. The architure of the hotel itself is also interesting.

I wish that a map could be provided free of charge. If you are looking for a more refined hotel experience for the area, this is a good fit for you. If I visit again, however, I personally would stay at one of the smaller establishments in a town at the foot of the mountain.

Breakfast was good, however as we needed an early start breakfast was supposed to be from 7am but when we arrived at 7.30 nothing had been put out.

We did not appreciate how far up the mountain the hotel was and had not taken enough time to make way up the narrow winding road (very picturesque though), maybe description could mention the road?

Location, waking up to see the snow & sun in the mountain is just priceless. Polite and professional staff, affordable prices, good matress, good breakfast and excellent zapečeni štrukli for dinner! Great value for money
