Golden Tulip Hotel Flamenco Cairo

The location in the north of Zamalek is excellent, the staff were lovely and the rooms were comfortable. We were given room upgrades when we checked in, which was a nice surprise! Our booking included breakfast, and the buffet wasn’t extensive but had a good amount of choice, including an omelette bar. Over the weekends, breakfast is served on the 10th floor which has an incredible view of the Nile and Giza. The hotel also has a good amount of services available through reception, including an on-call doctor which I was impressed by.

The rooms and facilities were clean enough, but there were areas that had been missed in my room, and I didn’t feel it quite met my personal cleanliness standard. Both of us also had a slight leak in our bathrooms which left water along the edges of the bathroom floor.

For Zamalek lovers (like me) who are on frequent short business trips, Flamenco is the place to stay. It is central, functional and captures well the vibes of Cairo. The hotel has two connected buildings: the "classical" rooms building with street view and the superior rooms building with Nile view. I got upon arrival a Nile view room on the 5th floor (technically the 4th) which is too close to the street and misses the magical Nile perspective. I asked for a similar room on a higher floor and within 10 minutes the front desk officer (Habiba) and the manager on duty were fully mobilized to answer my request, so I ended-up on the 9th floor. My appreciation to both of them for their attention.

The internet works but is kinda unreliable (not sure if it is the hotel's fault of the Egyptian telecom system) but expect at least one glitch in a one hour Zoom or Teams call.

Amazing location to explore Cairo. Staff was always super nice and helpful, especially Ezzat Samir, who served us at breakfast and at the bar always with a smile and a friendly word! Beds and pillows super comfortable. Overall great value for money.

The shower could use a little upgrade to make the water heat up faster. It was also not as clean as the rest of the room. Regardless, we really enjoyed our stay at Flamenco and in Cairo in general. We would be happy to return soon!

The location was nice, offering a great view of the Nile. It was a very quiet area, perfect for relaxation. The breakfast was satisfying, offering a good start to the day. The room was a good size, providing ample space for comfort. The bathroom was large, adding to the convenience of our stay. We also enjoyed a nice balcony, which provided a lovely outdoor space. This letter conveys your appreciation for the room upgrade and the excellent service provided by Mr. Mustafa and the hotel staff.

The furniture, while a bit old, is still in good condition.

Everything was perfect, room was bigger and nicer than expected. It was clean, everything worked perfectly. Buffet breakfast was great, only minor comment regarding breakfast is that there could be more options, I mean it's buffet and there are a lot of things, but every day it's the same. 5 stars for Eslam at the reception. Location was perfect, very close to downtown but away from the noise, you can easily find taxi cabs and also quite close to a metro station. When in Cairo ... this is the best option.

The apartment is located in a safe area surrounded by embassies and the room is clean when we arrive and it is equipped with almost all the necessities we need. The Macdonald's and Pizza hut is super close to the apartment. Besides, it is easy to transport via Uber there. Also, the hotel provides free-ride from the airport to the hotel, which is great. The reception staff are very helpful and responsive. They helped with photocopying without extra charges. I checked out severy days earlier and got my refund efficiently. This is the second time I have stayed here. The experiece is really nice. I would strongly recommend anyone who travel to Egypt to stay at Cairo flamenco hotel. In Egypt near Giza area, the hotels might be cheaper, but not as safe as this one, I guess.

I hope every room can provide a kettle and some glass cups for usage. In Egypt, the hotel standard is superb, but I would say in other places of other countries, with same prices, we could get something better. Overall, it is a super nice living experience in this hotel.

The location is nice and staff are helpful! The place is clean and well served. They upgraded my room to a nile view even without asking; this was super nice!

No mini-bar and the fridge was a bit old/untaken care of. The pillows (actually the full room) was smiling cigarettes and that was so annoying! I could hear everything in my next door room (part was that the neighbors were loud, and this is not something the hotel to be blamed for) - but still better rooms sound isolation system would have been better.

During my inaugural visit to Egypt, the Golden Tulip Hotel Flamenco in Zamalek was an epitome of excellent value and prime location. Nestled in the vibrant area of Zamalek, it was a gateway to the wonders of Cairo. The standout experience was the amiable staff who personified hospitality. Mohamed, at reception and reservation, was notably helpful and welcoming, enhancing my stay manifold. Sameh and Waly too contributed to a comforting and enjoyable stay with their friendly demeanor. Truly a remarkable Egyptian initiation.

The grounds are beautiful--lots of flowers, trees, etc. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Don't forget to try the fresh falafel made to order! It is short drive to the pyramids. The pool looked very nice, but it was too cold (January) for us to use it.

The lunch and dinner options were OK (a little over-priced). The hotel is not within walking distance of anything.

The rooms were spacious with nice views; the staff were helpful and friendly at all times - supplying extra toilet paper and tea for the rooms when asked for. They went out of their way to give us two rooms close together when the whole family came, and an extra bed. You could store luggage in a safe locked room whilst we were travelling elsewhere.

The cleaning lady woke us up in the morning asking if we needed anything! (waking guests up??!) The windows didn't all close properly in one of the rooms, and some of the air conditioners were rather old and not so efficient, or too noisy. Also we didn't discover the restaurant for evening meals only on the 10th floor until our second stay, so something was missing in the communication!
