Hotel d'Europe

Great old character with hint of modern facilities. We stayed in the junior suite with balcony. If you are looking for high end modern then give this hotel a miss. The beauty lies within the ancient history of this building. The courtyard was a welcomed retreat from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets. Car parking was convenient by the concierge. Cost of parking is what you would expect from a hotel of the quality. Staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Situated in an excellent position to easily visit all the sites of Avignon.

Bed was a little too hard.

Situated on a square right inside the gate it was conveniently near restaurants and a mini shop. The room was spacious and bathroom enormous with both shower and bath. It was an easy walk to most major tourist sites. The valet parking made it easy when we wanted to leave to tour nearby sites. Roads were well marked making it easy to enter and exit. The staff was wonderful.

Regrettably other than breakfast the restaurant wasn't open for our stay. Would have liked to know this in advance.

Historic hotel 5 mins from the Palais de Papes and surrounded by wonderful streets packed with galleries and shops. Upgraded to a Prestige room, huge room, stylish decor and one of the comfiest beds we've ever slept in. Loved the little touches of provencal bath products, nougat on the pillow and especially LOVED the courtyard. Had a wonderful time!

The breakfast was limited but there are still some COVID restrictions so I assume it's difficult to bake and cook everything.

An excellent location to visit Avignon, where we could safely garage our car for a few days and explore on foot. The room facilities were good, with a kettle and a small fridge. The bathroom was a generous size with a separate WC.

I would have liked to have a second formal chair for sitting at the desk. Also, a small shelf in the shower to put shampoo and body wash on would be useful.

Fantastic location for visiting Pont de Gard & Le Pont d'Avignon. The hotel courtyard & setting of the hotel in a square of bar/cafes was lovely. Parking convenience and helpful staff.

The room was fine, but dull. The receptionist on arrival was clearly just 'fed-up' - no smile or welcome. This important position can create a positive or negative experience for the guest.

Beautiful Hotel in great location. Staff were helpful. Sadly we did not have the experience we hoped there as the restaurant was closed so we were not able to have the full experience of the hotel that we would have hoped. We were not advised in advance that lunch or dinner would not be available to us. We managed to have a cold platter for lunch in the end which was acceptable. Would like to return sometime to enjoy the complete package. Would definitely recommend if all facilities are available.

Located inside the walled part of old Avignon, close to the main tourist attractions this has been an unforgettable stay. From arrival to departure you are guaranteed to be treated like royalty.

Wonderfully large and comfortable bed . We slept so well. Very good breakfasts. We tried the retaurant which, whilst quite an outlay financially, was exquisite. Staff all extremely friendly and helpful
