Le Beaugency

Friendly personnel who speak English. The garden is beautiful even in the rain. Our rooms on the ground floor facing the garden seemed recently renovated. Beautiful location in the center of the village, less than 10 minutes walking to restaurants, bakery and other shops. Great breakfast, especially the croissants and the fresh fruit salad. We could park the car in our reserved parking slot in the inner courtyard.

Just a few small things that were unpractical in the bathroom, but nothing major. At breakfast, freshly squeezed orange juice and maybe some boiled eggs would be a good addition.

I have stayed at hotels in Beaugency on many occasions as the town is an easy run to the ferry at Caen, but this was a first time for Le Beaugency. Owner-run is always a good thing and certainly so in this case. Very helpful and knowledgeble, clearly proud of his hotel, the proprietor and his wife helped us in many ways. We were given rooms on the first floor, accessed from a roof terrace that looked over the charming garden. Tucked behind high walling and gained through double sound-lock doors, they were quiet, generously sized and fitted to a very good standard. The (walk-in) shower room and W.C. were separate, clean and well equipped with plenty of hot water. The beds comfortable and an excellent breakfast meant a good night was had by all.

Just a niggle or so: the location is right on a very busy, light controlled junction, I should imagine that noise and dust might well be an issue for any rooms facing the road. Certainly, getting off the parking area/pavement in front of the hotel is very tricky in the morning rush hour!

Super friendly, family-run business. The owners gave us a warm welcome on our arrival. The hotel is roughly a minute's walk from the main square in Beaugency. Our room was quiet and clean. We didn't eat at the hotel but they did offer an evening meal and breakfast. There is limited parking at the hotel so if you want a parking spot, you need to book it in advance. We only booked the hotel the day before we arrived so we weren't able to have a parking space but we parked directly opposite the hotel for free. Beaugency is a really beautiful little town and I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit there.

Super little hotel. Traditional French atmosphere. Very friendly hosts who provided a nice continental breakfast for around 10 euros extra. Lovely room looking on to a garden and the small restaurant terrace. Dinner was also available but unfortunately we missed out as they were fully booked. But we could enjoy a nice glass of wine sitting in the garden. We managed to get car parking at back of hotel but advisable to book in advance. Otherwise you can park in street. The town centre is very near and there are other restaurants there. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom seem to have been recently refurbished, so it feels fresh. The garden is lovely and being in the ground-floor, there is no need to carry luggage upstairs. Beaugency is a quiet break in the Loire, with several restaurants and plenty of choice.

We were generally happy, and it was good that we pre-booked parking as there are not enough spaces for all. Breakfast was fine, but the room is small, given that Covid is still around, it might have been better to have been in the restaurant area that is bigger. Unfortunately, we could not try their food, as the restaurant is not open during the Easter break.

Everything was comfortable and perfect about this hotel. The rooms are newly refurbished and clean, the beds are comfortable. We travelled with a pet which was no problem at all. We arrived late and had a light meal at the restaurant. Breakfast was excellent with freshly baked sourdough bread. The staff was wonderful. We used the hotel as a stay over while travelling. We got a room in the courtyard, which was very quiet and convenient - it had its own front door and was around the corner of the driveway, which made going back and forth to the car extremely convenient. The courtyard is charming.

Well-appointed bedrooms looking in on the pleasant inner garden are totally quiet. The hotel is very central, within easy walking distance of the town centre and the riverside. Secure parking space in the locked interior courtyard is free and convenient but must be requested in advance of arrival. Buffet breakfast, helpful staff.

Hotel doors are closed if you arrive earlier than the advertised afternoon check-in time. The main road in front of the hotel can be busy during the day.

Recommended by a restaurateur in Blois. A serene, beautiful, place, with the nicest people running it. Super clean, peaceful, and a really comfortable bed! Breakfast was sumptuous for a continental, with local sourced items when they were available. Everything was lovely.

There's nothing I didn't like, except that I didn't know about it earlier.

Lovely room - with direct access to garden (pity it was raining)! After a long day it was great to be able to have our evening meal in the hotel - which was lovely. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. There was a good and plentiful selection for breakfast. Was able to park within the secure area which was a bonus.

Friendly staf who went out of their way to help us. Family room was nice and spacious, clean. The breakfast was good and plenty. Overall good stay!

We arrived on a sunday and in the town there were no restaurants open. This is not at all the hotels fault, but it made the trip with kids challenging.
