Campanile Chartres Centre - Gare - Cathédrale

Superb location and good private parking.

Parking was easy the day we were there but it would be nice to have to be able to reserve parking in advance.

The staff were welcoming and very helpful, especially Jean Paul. The location was excellent. We had only a few minutes walk to reach the cathedral. We had a fantastic view of the cathedral from our room. The room and bed were very comfortable. The hotel car park was large and secure.

The aircon didn't work, but there was a fan in the room, which was adequate as we slept with the window open. The sink didn't have a plug. We bought breakfasts for euro12 but they were not worth the money being poor to average at best.

This is a quaint, little hotel. We just stayed one night on our way back to Paris from Bayeux. The rooms are clean. The only negative is that the toilet is in a different room than the sink and shower. It would have been nice to have a sink in the water closet that houses the toilet. But that is not something they could change for the entire building at this point. The staff was kind and helpful. The breakfast was good. We were able to walk a short distance over to the Notre Dame Cathedral-Chartres. The staff also recommended a number of restaurants for us to choose from. We would recommend the hotel to others.

The only thing we didn't really like was not having a sink in the water closet where the toilet is. We had to go into the closet where the shower is to be able to wash our hands after going to the bathroom.

The location could not have been better. The staff, particularly Jean-Paul at check-in, were welcoming, friendly and informative. The room itself was large, with an amazing view of the cathedral, decent air-con and a good-size bed. Shower was also good, with plenty of hot water. And the parking facility was a bonus.

Breakfast might be viewed as a little expensive, and there was a lack of freshly brewed coffee. But otherwise, we were really happy with our stay.

The location is ideal for those visiting the Cathedral, a block from the train station and a couple of blocks from the Cathedral. A relatively new facility with wide halls, elevator, up to date rooms, wifi, windows that open -- and in our room a great view of the cathedral. The desk staff was friendly and helpful with good recommendations for restaurants, etc. They even held our luggage for a few hours after we checked out. The breakfast is worth the 10E cost with hot and cold items on the buffet. A clean seating area, that doubles for drinks in the evening. Recommend highly. BTW The town itself (beyond the cathedral) is very charming. Don't miss the nightly light show, it is spectacular.

Hotel is conveniently located near to the Cathedral, station and the city centre. Its carpark is immediately behind the hotel, at an extra charge. We found the hotel to be very good value for a city centre location, suitable quality decor and facilities for its price range. Reception area is spacious and welcoming, with a lounge area immediately adjacent. Staff is helpful and courteous. Our room (3rd floor) was spacious and light, good ventilation and good views towards the Cathedral.

We found it quite easily, although the immediate approach to the hotel was a little difficult. Don't be put off by having to drive passed a red no-entry sign (cars for the Campanile car park are OK!) Very helpful and pleasant staff. Nice, modernised room, good Wi-Fi The main treasure was its location! Absolute centre of Chartres, with good restaurants, and the splendour of the cathedral and its wonderful surrounding area!

Hard to find anything to be critical about!! Profile mentions a hotel restaurant, but this is just for breakfast. Travellers remembering the famous Campanile buffet dinners will be disappointed! - I guess this was rather a long time ago!

Very central location near cathedral and station, so lots of nearby restaurants; spacious room with plenty of powerpoints and a desk for computer; wifi very good; modern and clean. Separate showerroom and toilet. Desk staff very helpful. Small onsite carpark in an area where it is VERY hard to park. Lovely view of the cathedral from my bedroom window.

It was quite hard to work out how to get to the hotel because of the one-way system and a (commented - for locals only) no entry sign at the top of the street. No air-conditioning - stated by notice in lift. Wasn't sure if it just didn't have it at all or wasn't working as there were units in rooms, but only fan and heating I think. Not so good in very hot weather.

The Campanile is very central, in the town and very close to the wonderful Cathedral. The room was very good and comfortable, and we had a view of the Cathedral spires from our window. We saw the Son et Lumiere had begun after 11.30, got out of bed and walked round to see a magnificent presentation. So, ideal location as the cathedral is the main attraction - and we love it.

It's a modest hotel, but really good value. We didn't try the breakfast, having not booked one, but went out for coffee and croissants at a cafe next to the Cathedral. So that worked well! There was nothing to dislike, ideally perhaps a fridge in the room, but it's a medium hotel to just be enjoyed.

Proximity to center. The rooms are big. The nice view of the cathedrale from the 3rd floor. Big tv size. I also liked that the toilets were separate from the shower so if one is showering the other one can go to the toilet. It was a good choice and i recommend this hotel for visiting chartres. Secure parking for 8eur was good.

The breakfast was very poor. Room 212 there was no soap/shampoo box on the shower wall. When i told the girl in the reception she told me we can use the soap from the sink but its only soap we needed the shampoo..We got it eventually. .the bluetooth in my bed didnt work good so sometimes no sound in the tv.
