Hôtel O'Nice Saintes

A little non chain hotel just off the motorway. We just needed somewhere to break the drive from the Med to St Malo. This hotel was much nicer than anticipated. Lovely comfy rooms (we had the ones with a terrace). Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was good with home made cakes, cheese, cold meat etc. There is a restaurant next door that was OK too. Much nicer than the usual chain hotels off the motorway. If you need somewhere for a night to break your drive I highly recommend this hotel.

Staff were exceedingly helpful, friendly and accommodating. We were welcomed with a smile and provided with details of the excellent bakery which was accessed via a shortcut. We took advantage of the sunshine and enjoyed a delicious cake with hot chocolate whilst sitting on their terrace. Breakfast was really enjoyable with homemade pancakes and French toast, the hosts willingly shared recipes with us.

We were a little confused at exiting the car park onto the main road - a little hint before we left would have been helpful.

Simpel hotel close to highway. Everything little bit outdated, but room and bathroom clean. The room had airconditioning and it had no noise and you can make it fully dark. I slept very well. According to French customs, the breakfast was excellent. There is a restaurant nearby as well. You can park on a parkinglot that belongs to the hotel. Staff was very friendly.

Perfect location for stopover travelling from Cherbourg to Biarritz. Clean spacious rooms and bathrooms with Aircon. Reception closed on our late arrival but keys and code left out as pre-arranged. Also ideally located closed to motorway and short drive to the Roman Amphitheatre. Close to restaurant for dinner and boulangerie for coffee and croissants.

Nothing to dislike

Plenty of choice for breakfast, tasty fresh bread,, coffee machine or percolated. Definitely French as opposed to English breakfast (nothing fried and to quote reception “no scrambled”. Overall, convenient, clean, comfortable and quiet.

For the price nothing. But wall sockets incorporating usb charge points would be a great addition

well situated for our regular trips from St to Figueres this is a good hotel we have used on several occasions. the lady t the hotel is always very welcoming and the hotel immaculate. Good rooms, comfortable beds and fine value breakfast. Good dinner restaurant next door. Always a joy to stay here.

This hotel is easy to find. We were late due to an accident at Bordeaux and they remained open for us. Very welcoming reception, very good room, excellent breakfast at very reasonable cost. Thank you also for the kind words about the death of our Queen.

Nothing all was good

It was very easy to get into the centre of Saintes, and I was told where I could get a breakfast nearby.

It would have been very nice to have a kettle in the room with tea and coffee facilities

Very clean. Good bathroom with walk in shower. Very comfortable bed. Excellent location just minutes from motorway. Ideal if travelling. No restaurant but excellent restaurant next door La Boucherie. Would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was lovely, only thing could they please have some gluten free options as my partner is gluten free, he had yoghut, cheese and meats. Very friendly staff and quiet location despite being very conveniently close to the motorway
