Escale Oceania Vannes Centre

The hotel was halfway between the train station and city centre, which made it easy to walk to both. It was also quiet and clean, and our shower was separated from the toilet, which is always a nice thing to have when you travel with someone else. There was also a good amount of outlets, along with a table and a chair inside the room, which always adds up to practicality.

For some reason our toilet emanated a bad smell for the duration of our stay. We just closed the door on it and that helped, and we didn't report it so I cannot say what could have been done.

On site parking good but really tricky to get into spaces and out again. Bathroom and shower great. Breakfast excellent. Location very good. Nice to have a bar and a comfortable sitting area

The tight squeeze in relation to parking spaces. The room layout - limited storage space was one side of the bed and impossible for two people to use at the same time. Being ignored in the bar because the (male) receptionist was chatting with someone.

Very good location, with a garage , just a stone's throw from the old town. The beds were comfortable and the midday check-out very handy as it gave us time to stroll round the market after breakfast

The room was small, with very little free floor space. But I guess Vannes is the kind destination where you're probably not going to spend much time in the room

Parking is a little restricted for a larger vehicle, although room was found on the first night had to use free car park on second night as we had not pre booked

Very professionally run. Very clean and modern. Fabulous room and wonderful bed. Secure garage but very low headroom, even my Kangoo wouldn't have got in if I'd left roof rack on.

Unprepossessing position by dual carriage way. Difficult pedestrian access to garage. Don't try getting in with a large 4x4. Hard to get away from hotel without going right in to centre.

Upgraded room was good but needed to borrow extra chair from restaurant. Meals were delivered by a traiteur and were nice and also hot.

The receptionists were behind screens, wearing masks and softly spoken. We struggled to hear them or understand them. Meals could not be ordered before we left for the day and choices were not available until after 2 pm. Phone orders were extremely difficult to hear or understand. Printed menu choices on display were always for the PREVIOUS DAY! This was frustrating but the meals themselves were good.

Staff were exceptionally friendly, efficient & helpful. I was smitten with a bout of gout & they went miles out of their way to sort my needs. For a complicated traffic system, the hotel's location, on the fringe of the old town, is a relief.

Initially finding the hotel was a bit of a nightmare: the Vannes one way routes can be trying.

The staff were very helpful, pleasant and efficient. Breakfast was excellent. The whole hotel was clean and well cared for.

Evening meal was bought in from a local supplier, not brilliant. Getting to the hotel from one direction was challenging on a mobility scooter because of a lack of pavement and a busy road.

Very happy overall! A short walk towards the city centre and we got a room on the backside which was quiet. Staff were available and flexible. Comfotable that bathroom and toilet are separated.

We experienced some noise from the carpark, but that was very limited.

Helpful staff and good facilities. Easy to walk into Vannes to see the many sights and access restaurants.

Parking was a little difficult and it was not clear that it needed to be booked.
