The Oberoi Cecil

This was possibly the finest hotel I’ve stayed in, due to the unique combination of luxury, customer service and stunning location. The hotel decor, comfortable and eye for detail was brilliant. I can’t praise the staff we came in contact with enough, from the front of house, bar and restaurant staff, the activity centre staff and swimming pool area staff, they were all fabulous. The proximity and backdrop of Shimla centre and it’s stunning surrounds were inspiring. This all made our stay a truly memorable experience. Our two boys loved everything about the Oberoi Cecil!

The only thing I would have liked was more variety in the fresh fruit at breakfast especially grapes and mangoes, to go with the usual package of melon, oranges and bananas.

Everything. Especially the hospitality. The premier valley rooms were spacious and with great views. Almost all of the staff we came across were extremely polite and courteous. . We were celebrating our anniversary and their efforts went beyond our expectations. Our room was decorated with balloons. Sent cakes twice, once at midnight as we were celebrating with friends and again on the evening of the Anniversary. What really stood out was they also gifted us the local himachali cap and a gorgeous stole. This hotel was the best part about our trip of 4 days in Shimla. Kudos to you guys at Cecil. Thank you for making our stay special. ❤️

amazing hospitality. the guest relation staff were exceptional. shout out to Navya and Ankita for their help towards our old parents who needed lots of support while I was busy in my nephew’s wedding.All the staff at reception were super helpful and nice. every penny spent was absolutely worth it. girls even helped my mom in law draiw her saree and boys helped get medicine for them. spa was very relaxing and the therapist went out of her way despite language problems. exceptional stay, amazing location, outstanding food. the hotel helped move my in laws from another hotel nearby where the gentleman chauffeuring the car drove all the way up to the doors of hotel to help my in laws alight the car. I am extremely thankful to everyone for stepping up for me in taking care of my in laws. My heartfelt thanks to the gentleman who drove us. unfortunately I do not remember his name.

Location . View. Staff. Food. Hospitality. The must visit ehen I will come back to.shimla. The restaurant was too good as well where staff well trained and handle orders very profesionally. Starting from the check in to check out you will notice that the management have put effort and time to very well trained the staff. Good job . I had a special request and it was handled in a satisfied way as well with a compliments from them.

Little pricey when it xomes to food but it is worth the value and quality that they are.providing . Hassle free .. really nice place for some one wants to pay for a quality hotel. A mini note to the management : try to have an espresso maching in the room . This will be a wonderful add .

Staff were extremely courteous. Probably the best model of customer service one can ask for. Not a time goes by when the staff are not attending to your every need. This type of service and values this hotel upkeep is beyond excellence. Our kids had great fun at the activity Centre and interacting with the hotel staff. We adults had a great time with the ambience and even warmer courtesy extended by the staff in every aspect of our stay.

Once you experience Oberoi Cecil you will hardly have anything to complain about.

The hotel staff took very good care of us during the stay. Traveling with children comes with its own challenges in terms of their food requirements, which were promptly met and customized by the restaurant at the hotel. The kids loved spending time at the activity center. We experienced the Oberoi hospitality for the first time and have found it exceptional.

We opted for a valley view room. While the view was there, it could have been a little better. Besides, the balcony was way a little small. I guess a room with a mountain view needs atleast some space to put a chair and sit outside.

More than exceptional service by the entire staff.. they didn't leave any stone unturned to make our stay comfortable and memorable.. especially because we were travelling with twin toddlers.. special thanks to Mr Abhishek, Ms Mami , Mr Ashutosh and the entire housekeeping team and the restaurant staff.. really appreciate ur hospitality.. 🙏🙏

We were welcomed enthusiastically and the i loved the open to the roof lounge area The Activity centre was a boon to keep my kids occupied. The spa was refreshing & the heated pool was awesome The entire property is wooden and i love that !

We had asked for some personal customisations prior to our arrival for which i had email confirmations, yet the guest relations didnt action on it, and had the audacity to even say that there were no such requests. Food menu could be a little more extensive considering that its a 5 star property

Everything was just perfect, the staff cooperativeness is exceptional, they would take care of the minutest of details to make sure you do not feel any discomfort at all. Food , room service, house keeping, everything is just what you expect from a five star property

I am really not able to find out anything bad about this property, My whole family enjoyed our stay here with all praises and nothing bad to say for sure

- Extremely Hospitsble staff. To name a few Rajkumar, Kartik, Gaurav, Rohit from F&B. Deepika, Sanjana from housekeeping and front desk and Sunil (driver) and the spa lady therapist....All these staff were exceptional. The hotel is a true five star and they really care about every small thing about their guests. We went in for 4 nights for a birthday and anniversary Celebration. They decorated the room and sent in complementary cakes on both occasions. They kept checking with us if we need something. Rooms are very nice and well equipped. Children play area in particular is large and equipped with Xbox, Air hockey, Carrom, pool, and play area. We enjoyed swimming in the 30 degrees warm pool morning and evening and also took many Spa therapies. They organised bonfire every evening right across the road. They helped us organise a day picnic and a walking trail at Glen forest which is a must do if you are in Shimla. If international travel as of this moment looks difficult then this property and Shimla, drive to Kufri is a great get away india.

I liked everything. There is just one thing. Since we couldn't open the balcony doors due to safety issues hence they shouldn't keep too much of a tariff difference between valley facing and road facing rooms. We opted for valley facing rooms but had I known balcony door cannot be opened, I would have taken road facing rooms. However it was a minor thing.
