Such a beautiful old building; completed renovations for converting the upper level into luxury suites are very elegant, tasteful and of a high quality. An incredible entrance to the hotel. Fittings and bed linen were superb and immaculate . Staff were exceptionally welcoming and hospitable with welcome drinks and food provided. A plunge pool on the roof with panoramic views was a lovely bonus. Breakfast provided on the rooftop was delicious; freshly baked food. Well located in the historic part of Cosenza with a good local restaurant nearby and interesting streets to explore. Secure garage park.

The host kindly carried our bag up 5 flights of stairs. That would be the only negative if he was unable to be so helpful.

I would like to express my utmost satisfaction with our recent stay at the hotel in Cosenza. The hotel is situated in the historic district of the city and has been completely renovated inside. Its convenient location near tourist attractions and restaurants added to the overall enjoyment of our visit. Everything inside the hotel appears new, remodeled, and beautiful, reflecting the evident care and attention put into its design. Our room was spacious and cozy, providing a comfortable retreat after a long day of exploring. The hotel owners were incredibly attentive and helpful throughout our stay. They went above and beyond by recommending local restaurants and bars, and were always ready to assist us with any requests or inquiries we had. The breakfast served at the hotel was delightful and prepared by the owners themselves. From freshly baked croissants to made-to-order eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice, everything was of the highest quality. I genuinely hope to return to Cosenza in the future and have the opportunity to stay at this hotel once again.

This family owned, 16th century property perched in the historic part of town was spectacular. Difficult to find, even with google. Interior of venue renovated to modern standards. Very spacious and comfortable. Parking available on site. Breakfast was served on the beautiful rooftop terrace but table service & preparation lacked experience.

Air conditioner was weak & the unit was located behind the blackout drapery, which didn't help. After returning from dining out, it was disappointing not to be able to enjoy a glass of wine on the roof top terrace & soak in the hottub under the stars - access door was locked.

The Dimora is very stylish and one of the nicest buildings in the neighborhood, if not the nicest. WhatsApp-directions by the owners were very precise and helped us get there easily. We had no problems finding the B&B. The rooms are beautiful and clean. We enjoyed a bottle of sparkling wine (on the house) on the large roof-top terrace overlooking the old town and the surrounding hills. Several of the more interesting sights of Cosenza are within walking distance which is great. Easy and safe car parking just in front of the building (the police is in a building just across). We felt very safe and the night was quiet.

Many stairs to climb but the owner helps with luggage. No elevator. We found the bath tub in our room inconvenient, would really have preferred a shower. Also, we had a difficult time finding a restaurant to our liking (limited choice) within walking distance of the B&B. The suggestions of the owners (a list sent via WhatsApp) weren't helpful. In the end we opted for simple Pizza which was good.

This place is a hidden gem. We are so glad that we had the pleasure in experiencing everything this had to offer. The restoration in this place was to perfection. Giacomo was very helpful and friendly and recommended a few places to dine at. We had the best dinner in Italy called Calabria Bella. The food was to die for and we ate the most amazing cheesecake we’ve ever had .. Michela prepared the most beautiful fresh breakfast, the best way to start the day. We will go back in heart beat.

This property is located in the historic old district of Cosenza. The building, which the owners have lovingly renovated inside, was built around 1520. The property also boasts an amazing rooftop where you take breakfast every morning. There is a hot tub up there as well!

There is nothing I didn’t like about the property, but it is important that guests know 2 things: 1. there is no elevator. the owners plan to install one, but for now, be prepared to climb some steps. If your luggage is heavy, the delightful inn owner will gladly help you with it. 2. make sure to use what’s app to communicate with the inn owners before you arrive. You must get directions from them if you plan to drive to the inn. Do not rely upon Google maps. They send you to narrow historic roads in the historic district that do not allow cars.

Dimora de Matera was truly a gem. When we arrived, we were a bit confused because the Dimora is located at the end of a street that seems to be undergoing restoration. However, once we entered, we realized it was a beautiful place to stay in a very old restored building, right in the historic center of Cosenza. The Dimora is located up a few flights of steps, so be aware of this in case you cannot walk up steps. The facilities are top notch. The design, finishes, and fixtures are best in class. The views from the room are beautiful - views of mountains and historic buildings. The hosts - Giacomo and his wife - are friendly and accommodating. The rooftop offers beautiful views and the hosts offer breakfast on the rooftop in the morning. Cosenza is quaint, historic, and truly beautiful. We had the best time and would love to return to Cosenza.

Great location in the historic district, 2 blocks from the Cathedral. Excellent restaurants & cafes nearby. Short walk to Corso Mazzini pedestrian mall & national art gallery. Beautiful view from the room & breakfast terrace looking across the tiled rooftops of the historic center to the lush green hills that surround Cosenza.

The door to our room is not fitted properly & you have to slam the door to shut it.

Fantastico! When people imagine their perfect Italian vacation, this is the experience they are dreaming of. Even before check in, communication via WhatsApp was easy and they always responded promptly. We stayed in the Deluxe King Suite for four nights and it was perfect. A stunning and large, clean room with plenty of space for clothes and luggage. White and pale wood decor provides a calm atmosphere. I appreciated the USB plug in the wall beside the bed and the built in Bluetooth system so you can play music from your phone through the walls. The bathroom is also large with a bathtub - such a great! The provided toiletries smell and felt great to use, good quality. The entire B&B had a pleasant, delicate fragrance throughout. The rooftop terrace is outstanding and huge! Incredible views over Cosenza, plenty of tables for breakfast, lounge chairs for relaxing, and a jacuzzi and shower. Breakfast each day was high quality and delicious - fruit, prosciutto and melon, cake, fresh pastries, and great coffee. Heavenly experience. The location is perfect within the historic centre of Cosenza - steps from the Cathedral and Teatro Redondo, and only a 15 minute walk to Corso Mazzini. Michela and Giacomo are perfect hosts, very welcoming and hospitable. I have stayed in a few places in Cosenza in the past, and Dimora De Matera is the most outstanding. The building the B&B is in is 500 years old and maintains a perfect balance between history and modernity. I will certainly stay here on my next visit to my homeland. Grazie mille!

beautifully renovated family palace on hill overlooking city. hosted by Michela and her husband, very nice and educated people breakfast was simply perfect and in good taste, served in great terrace overlooking the city and valley. brand new facilities, bathrooms, with Italian good taste and details.

we could not find anything to not like. it really exceeded our expectations.
